I have always filled the 1L85 oil tank as written in the maintenance manual. My 700 Raptor now has 15,000 km and I have no problems. I have never filled the oil filter side because it is not indicated in the maintenance manual.

1 quart in the crank case 1 quart in the oil tank, if you put too much in the oil tank and make it full while it’s cold you will have too much oil. 1 quart in the oil tank when you check the dipstick cold it should be a little bit above the E, then when you let it warm up it should pretty much be exactly full, You don’t have to screw the dipstick in just put it in and check the level without screwing it in, you have to check it while it’s warm if not you’re gonna have too much oil. And keep in mind what I just wrote is with a filter change.

In the manual it’s state 0.55L in the crank case and 1.3 in the oil tank
