Shannon, if you haven't started to already, start bringing those plants outside not in direct sunlight immediately, but in gradually more and more each day. They need to get hardened off to the outdoor breezes and sunlight so that they transition well into the garden. You'll have stronger plants that way. After several days of hardening them off go ahead and get them planted. You will love watching their progress in the garden. Once you get digging in the soil you'll realize how relaxing the process is. Kyle, put a mask on and grab a shovel and dig a hole directly along side that turtle and throw some lime in the hole. Once you've got the hole there you can nudge the turtle into it. If you dig under it a bit on the side closest to the turtle you might be able to get it to slide in without too much effort or risk of it exploding. Dump some more lime on top of it and cover it up. That will take care of the smell for you. Stan's an awesome neighbor! I need a Stan next door to me.
I need a you next to me! What wonderful help that you offered. Perfect detail. I watched my mind work that bloated beast into its grave! I so wish to be in the country!
Thank you Stan for coming over to help Kyle and Shannon with their garden fence. You're a very good neighbor. Thanks also for giving them the heads up on moving that dead turtle. Shannon, I love the garden area. It looks so good. I know you will be producing some great veggies before long. And in the fall you can plant some cold weather crops and get a bit more for your table before winter. Thanks for taking us along on your journey. Prayers for LeaAnn for her surgery tomorrow.
Shannon and Kyle if you want to keep squirrels and rabbits out of your garden I would recommend that you use chicken wire around your fence. It will also help keep the gunnies out and chicken when you get them. As well as ground hogs.
That is just a regular snapping turtle. They have smooth shells. Alligator snappers have shells that look like an alligator. Also, it could do some serious damage. It can break bones.
My husband hit a very bloated deceased raccoon along the road one time. (I asked what it would sound like). The smell in our truck instantly was worse than any skunk I have ever smelled. By the way you playing basketball and other things were so darn cute. Such a cute little boy. Your mom shared so many memories and pictures of you 3 boys on last ights video. 🥰🥰🥰
We had a good rain last night/this morning, but as usual the wind came after. Strong winds! Herc is so good! What a protector. I don’t even want to imagine that smell. Love and prayers 😇💜
Kyle when my dad would put his awning up on the trailer he would leave one front corner alittle shorter than the other. When it would rain all the water would run off the awning at that corner. He never had to worry about water or hail pooling on the awning. ❤
Hello Kyle and Shannon, my thumbs up button is GONE!! Just has numbers now!! I will come back later and check to see if it is back. 🙏🙏🙏🙏Prayers for the Doss family and hoping the surgeon will have your Mother back home real soon. So sorry for the smell you are having to deal with! I am happy that Shannons garden enclosure is coming along so well. Hope you fins the newest guinea nest soon🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
Prayer for your mom and dad, family. It is wonderful when a neighbor helps. My husband being in the hospital a neighbor came over and mowed our front yard, he would of mowed our backyard but we have a locked gate across the driveway, such a Blessing! Please keep my husband in your prayers 🙏🏻 Thank you!
Couldn't you dig a big hole and bury him...👃🤢...you poor guys...the garden look so good.. awesome job...your going to have a great garden before you know it...Thank you Stan for being the best neighbor...god bless you all and prayers for your family 🙏🙏🙏✝️ especially Grandma Doss
Oh man. I thought it might be a carcass of something - but a huge snapping turtle!? that's amazing! Could be if you covered it with soil that could lessen the odor. At some point it will of course just go into the ground but ugh, until then... whew I don't envy your smellers! Sorry that happened but yep that's country life! Prayers for Kyle's mom tomorrow and beyond, for a quick and full recovery so she can enjoy her upcoming retirement. Thanks to Herc for protecting the farm. He's a wonderful LGD.
Wow Herc knows his job very well and Shanon there's nothing wrong with putting the plants out in the rain it will be good for them and good luck planting ur garden ❤️🇨🇦
STAN’S THE MAN! Shannon your garden will be awesome. Kyle didn’t you use your tractor once to clean out the goat pen? Hope the rain stops soon. Praying for your mom’s surgery tomorrow. Many blessings for her surgery and healing.
Your garden is looking awesome, Shanon! I put an 8ft. t-post at each corner of my garden, and one at each side of the gate, and then wrapped a 7'x100' deer netting around the whole thing (leaving the gateway uncovered). I also had to cover the gate itself, and zip tied it to all the tall posts. Worked like a charm! My garden is 18x25.
I was going to say that unfortunately deer can jump over your fence with ease Shannon. You will need to add netting above the fence panels or the strings of garden flags like Jason at Cog Hill has used around his garden for deer in the past.
Prayers for LeeAnne on her surgery procedure. 🙏🫶 Praying for a speedy recovery. 🙏🫶. Thank you Stan for Help. Bunnies can climb well 😠 Blessings 🙏🫶🙏🫶. prayers for Doss families 🙏
Chicken wire on the bottom half for them little critters. Bunnies dig so depending on how determined they are, it might happen. Another very enjoyable and interesting video. #1 channel I watch. It was funny watching Kyle trying not to gag. Praying all goes well for LeeAnn.
Shannon your garden will be nest! There is nothing wrong with putting your plants out in the rain.. that too helps harden them off, just don’t drown them. Direct sun when they’re not used to it is the worse. A little sun at a time…. dappled sun light is the best to begin with. Chicken wire around the bottom Of your fence for rabbits would be the best. Rabbits are determined so… at least 3ft high & they will dig under too.
This was a great video. I am still praying for your mom and dad. I am praying for the entire Doss family, God bless you all. You all are absolutely amazing!
HELLO KYLE AND SHANON😊 GREAT JOB ON THE GARDEN FENCE😊 SO CUTE BRUNO WITH EGGS. HE IS SO HANDSOME 🐶💜 GLAD YOU FOUND THE SMELL🤢. TELL THE GOATS AND NALLA HELLO😊. PRAYING FOR YOUR MOMS SURGERY. LOVE U KIDS. HUGS AND PRAYERS FROM CONNIE SUE, BELLA & BUBBA 👩🏻🦳🙏🐐🐐🐶🐶🐶🐦🐦🐦🐦❤️💖🥬🥕💜🇺🇸
If you put up wire about 4 ft above the fence and attach some plastic flags to the wire and deers avoid the garden, I guess it’s because of the movement. Jason, at Cog Hill Farm did that on their previous farm and it worked great. At their new property, they haven’t had any problems.
Prayers for Mom and dad, 🙏❤️ and all the family. Walking in the rain ..... Is there dancing with the birds next ??? All your fur babies look well, good job. ❤️🙏💐🐜🦋🐞🍀☺️💖
Put your big boy pants on and dig a hole next to the turtle. Once the hole is deep enough use your shovel to roll the turtle into said hole then cover it up with dirt. If you dig it deep enough you will not smell it and ,life can go on.
Also bury deep so coyotes and critters don't did it up. The sprinkling of lime does help with smells. We used to get from hardware store. Tractor Supply or Menard's should have. Here in Michigan it was used in out houses to reduce odors. We had a outdoor toilet until I was in high school (1972) 😂
Your garden area looks great, you need a comfy chair in there so you can sit and admire your work lol, I would put a netting up above over some arched panels to keep the birds out! OH GROSS! That poor turtle must be super stinky ♥️🙏🏻🇨🇦
Thats a good size snapper. Hurk was lucky those things can do some serious damage. Im about 3-4 miles from the Big Muddy here in Illinois i see them even larger. Those don't survive here. I see to that. Smaller ones i try to relocate back to the river. Sending prayers for Grandma. Be safe and keep up with the good content. ❤
Your Mom shared some cool pictures of you playing basketball. Shannon, your garden is really taking shape. Kyle, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for this week.
We’re having rain in Arkansas too.. it was coming down pretty good..be glad you were home to be able to keep the awning from being damaged..Bruno is getting so big.. I hope your mom’s surgery went well.. I’ve been thinking of her today..
Prayers for your mom tomorrow, Kyle. The rest of the family, too! 🙏 ❤
Dead mice
❤ Hope mama's alright, she's in our prayers. Okay, what's in the smell? It's a dead mouse dead mouse

Yeah.. she can definitely put them out when it's raining. Better for them ,actually.
I need a you next to me! What wonderful help that you offered. Perfect detail. I watched my mind work that bloated beast into its grave! I so wish to be in the country!
Prayers for your Mom tomorrow. Thank you Stan for helping them.

I agree! I've been thinking I want a bench or two in the garden area 😉💁🏼♀️🥰
Thank you Stan for coming over to help Kyle and Shannon with their garden fence. You're a very good neighbor. Thanks also for giving them the heads up on moving that dead turtle. Deer will jump right over that fence.
Yep speaking from experience. 🦌I hope they don’t find the garden.
Shannon and Kyle if you want to keep squirrels and rabbits out of your garden I would recommend that you use chicken wire around your fence. It will also help keep the gunnies out and chicken when you get them. As well as ground hogs.
Prayers for Grandma Doss and all your family. ❤❤❤
Lime it it will make speed in it decomposing. Sending prayers for your Mom s surgery🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Cover the turtle with a thick layer of pine shavings and that will decompose it faster and smell better!
Thank you Stan! Good neighbors and good friends are treasures!
Turtles smell when they're alive! I can't imagine how bad they smell when they're dead!!
My granddad told me - a long time ago to plant after rain- the rain makes the ground softer, chicken wire at the bases might help with bunnies :)
That is just a regular snapping turtle. They have smooth shells. Alligator snappers have shells that look like an alligator. Also, it could do some serious damage. It can break bones.

Bury it 🎉the smell will go away & bugs can still benefit !!
You need to get them planted
Kyle, since you LOVE Manard's so much, go ask if they carry lime to put over the turtle. Then put a layer of dirt....helps cut the smells.
Prayers for Grandma Doss.❤
Now all you need for your little garden area is a bench so you can sit and watch your garden grow.
thank you Stan for helping Kyle and Shannon ❤❤❤❤❤

Kyle you can use lime (calcium oxide) to dry out the corpse and it will remove the smell.
STAN’S THE MAN! Shannon your garden will be awesome. Kyle didn’t you use your tractor once to clean out the goat pen? Hope the rain stops soon. Praying for your mom’s surgery tomorrow. Many blessings for her surgery and healing.
You could put Lime on the turtle & cover with soil. The lime will dissolve the soft tissue & really helps eliminate the smell

Great job Herc! Thanks for your help Stan. I know Kyle and Shannon truly appreciates it.
