Right?? I was like damn how long does it take to get the key to open that damn door!! And why leash her (taking 2 weeks as well) when the owners are sure that's their dog??
They didn't find Ashley by pure chance. The fact that someone runs an advocacy group to reunite lost animals and their owners made me cry as much as the rest of the video did. I just think it's a really nice thing for someone to do for others.
Totally agree. The guy says "We need to get the door open" then takes forever to actually open the door....then wastes another stressful minute putting a leash on a dog whose owners were. right. there.
My dog got on top of me in bed when I was sick because I was shivering. She was trying to warm me up. I thought she might be on to something to be so worried about me. So I went to the ER instead of going to sleep. It turned out that I had a massive sepsis infection and would have died if I went to sleep. I love my Sheltie Molly.
My dog Bear (he looked like one when he was a pup) never got up onto my bed until I started receiving chemo treatments which made me very sick . He took it upon himself to jump up & rest his chin on my legs and stayed there until I felt well enough to get up , usually after 3 or 4 hours . Later , after my treatment ended , When I would lay on HIS couch while still tired from my ordeal , he would come to the couch and rub his cold wet nose on my face as if to say Get off of MY bed !
As wonderful as the reunion was for Ashley and her family, I felt the same way. It probably created even more anxiety for the ones left behind. Praying they all find forever homes 🙏❤
I have volunteered to dog walk at a shelter before. The experience can truly change your life. You realize how insignificant your problems or life can be to see these homeless dogs. It is so gratifying to do what little you can.
Several years ago, I was in the process of adopting an older dog who had been hit by a car and lost one of her back legs. The dog was sweet but seemed sad. On the day I was to take her home, the shelter called and said they gave her to a family. At first, I was a bit mad but they said the dog reacted happily when seeing them come in, especially the kids, and that it was, actually, their dog. They were told by a neighbor she had died after being hit by the car so they were mourning her (she was healed when I tried to adopt her so there was time between when they were told she died and then coming to look for another dog). They just happened to go to the shelter the day I was to get her so it was still a happy day. I told them to keep the money as a donation and, about a month later, my sister said a friend of hers took in a stray but their dog did not like her so they wanted to rehome her. She was with me for 15 years. 😊
I'm sorry but that neighbor lied to that family! Whoever they are they emotionally hurt a family! I'm not sure how young or old the kids are but to hear from a neighbor "Hey your dog got killed after being hit by a car" and to find your dog at a shelter missing a leg but alive and happy to see you again especially the kids after said neighbor basically lied to you and your family stating that your dog had died from being hit by a car. Either the dog ran off after being hit and someone else found her and took her to the shelter or the neighbor saw what happened, hated the dog, and took the dog to the shelter lying about her being a stray. That's pretty massed up. The only bright side is the dog's alive, a tri-pod ( a dog with three legs ) and back with her family.

It was the first time I saw panic and confusion on a dog's face (I am not a dog owner).. it was searching for the owner.. after around 20 min of such frantic behaviour, he slowly moved outside the park and crossed the road to another field with unsure steps... and then he saw the owner there.. a teenage boy playing with his friends.. 100%. Ages ago when I was very young, my beloved dog Daisy was lost for two weeks. No internet back then! My parents did EVERYTHING possible to try to find her. My house was full of despair, just indescribable. Then, our local radio station, WKER, which would always broadcast lost and found pets, read out about a dog found a few towns over. My Pop Pop heard it and told us, and we went to the house, after having had our hearts broken over and over again with false alarms - and this time, it was her. Filthy and about 20 pounds lighter, she was so excited to see us, the poor baby vomited all over the carpet of the very nice family who had found her (my dad gave them some $$ in compensation, but they were so kind, they weren't upset at all). If it hadn't been for that family putting it out there that they'd found a dog, for the radio station announcing it, and for my Pop Pop hearing the announcement, we might not have found her. I'm very happy this family was reunited with their dog! Edit: Heres some info about microchips bc y'all are being really fucking annoying (I'm a registered vet tech so I know what I'm talking about) - It's not a GPS - You can choose what information you disclose to the microchip company - When a microchip scanner is used on your pet, the only thing that shows up is the registration number and the number of the microchip company - A random person is not able to get your personal info from your pet if they're microchipped - To obtain your contact info for a lost pet, for example, the vet clinic will contact the microchip company and the company will contact you and then you can consent or decline your info being shared - Microchips only work if you register the microchip and keep the information updated if your phone number or address change - Microchips are tiny and fit inside a 15-gauge needle - Pets are usually sedated for microchip insertion since it's often done at the same time as a spay/neuter - Pets don't require sedation for a microchip so if you're not doing any surgeries for your pet but still want them chipped you can do this and it doesn't hurt too much - I put one in a big dog and he didn't even notice - Pets don't know they're microchipped and can't feel it because it's way too small - The average cost I could find in the US and Canada is $25-$75 and most places I've been to in Canada have been $50 (including really cheap and more expensive clinics) - Microchipping doesn't mean that you shouldn't put an identification tag and rabies tag on your dog - Microchipping and up-to-date rabies tags are the best way to prove legal ownership over your pet

❤ God bless you.
Yes, I wonder how it happened that they never saw the dog but believed the neighbor that it was dead?!
Things worked out the way they’re supposed to.

I work at a vet clinic and so many people decline chipping their pets even though it really doesn't cost that much. You never know if your pet will get lost. I'm very happy this family was reunited with their dog!
Edit: Heres some info about microchips bc y'all are being really fucking annoying (I'm a registered vet tech so I know what I'm talking about)
- It's not a GPS
- You can choose what information you disclose to the microchip company
- When a microchip scanner is used on your pet, the only thing that shows up is the registration number and the number of the microchip company
- A random person is not able to get your personal info from your pet if they're microchipped
- To obtain your contact info for a lost pet, for example, the vet clinic will contact the microchip company and the company will contact you and then you can consent or decline your info being shared
- Microchips only work if you register the microchip and keep the information updated if your phone number or address change
- Microchips are tiny and fit inside a 15-gauge needle
- Pets are usually sedated for microchip insertion since it's often done at the same time as a spay/neuter
- Pets don't require sedation for a microchip so if you're not doing any surgeries for your pet but still want them chipped you can do this and it doesn't hurt too much - I put one in a big dog and he didn't even notice
- Pets don't know they're microchipped and can't feel it because it's way too small
- The average cost I could find in the US and Canada is $25-$75 and most places I've been to in Canada have been $50 (including really cheap and more expensive clinics)
- Microchipping doesn't mean that you shouldn't put an identification tag and rabies tag on your dog
- Microchipping and up-to-date rabies tags are the best way to prove legal ownership over your pet
@@vlinder0108 I’m glad. A lot of ppl will book spays/neuters and then decline doing microchipping (which is usually done at the same time). So they choose to spend a good amount of money already with the neutering but then still try to cheap out on the little things. It was disappointing to see…
its not about the cost but more like putting something artificial in them
@@gabriele1417 then it would be nice if they did apple air tag or something
@@gabriele1417 Well, they're idiots. I've been a vet for 20 years and I have never seen or even heard of a n adverse reaction to a microchip provided it was implanted by someone qualified to do so. What I have seen is a ton of dogs and cats who could have been reunited with their families in a very short time have to go off to the shelter, where, if they find their dogs, they have to pay a big fine to retrieve them.
My city has routine, FREE microchip drives to get them into people's pets at no cost to them. But yeah, my normal vet charges 35 bucks to do it. It's hard to argue that my pets aren't worth 35 dollars.

@@paintedwarrior516 DIDN'T HE....I WAS LIKE CLEARLY YOU COULD SEE THAT BABY KNEW HIS MOM
Nothing like a good cry, in the morning. Thank goodness they found her.
If I were the owner, I would've been on my knees crying after finding my dog. So glad they were reunited.
dog owner is irresponsible to allow her dog become strays in the first place!!! she doesnt deserves that dog!
@@R0TB @R0TB Buddy, calm down... A) You've commented this on SO MANY other comments, leave everyone alone, B) Apparently you have the attention span of a goldfish, the video subtitles LITERALLY said that they were away from home and it was the DOGSITTER'S fault they left the door open, not the owner's -_-
The excitement she had when she saw her family come to take her home was magical. So glad that someone saw her photo and the family was contacted. Relief all around. Welcome home💜
So happy for this dog and her family, but it also makes me sad for all the other dogs in the shelter watching who are left behind. 😢
i feel sad due to the dog owner's negligence and irresponsible that poor dog ended in a shelter...
Beautiful story but it still made me so incredibly sad that the other dogs were so excited, too. I just wish they ALL had a loving home.
I know 😢😢
What's putting these tears in my eyes is the other dogs watching from *their* cages. I wish these shelters the best and honor the people who work there but I can't stop wishing they were empty. >.
As happy as this is to see, I still cant help but feel so sorry and sad for the remaining dogs :(
go adopt a shelter dog, then. be the change.
That why i always adopt from shelters
Or even better. Just dont buy animals for Christmas. The numbers Auf killed dogs and cats because of Christmas is insanely high. In our country they assume that like 350.000 pets get killed per year. And I bet US is as always leading the boards. Adopting is not changing anything. If people truly love animals in general, they would let them be as they were meant to be. Love the cat of my parents, but he will never leave that place his whole life.
@@bigbaba1509 Fine sentiment, but we've breeded and domesticated dogs past the realm of releasing them back into the wild. Lots of dog species that are permanently here to stay, as strays or as pets, are incapable of surviving on their own in the wild. The ethical option in my opinion is to therefore adopt, but not breed these kinds of dogs. That'd be wishful thinking though.
@@bigbaba1509 IN my country, we are the top 1 of pet abandonment, and no, those animals don't get happy life in the wild, they di@s due to not be ready for this, and no, letting them from the beginning would have changed nothing.
Our pets are the most innocent of creatures.
They are little children that need our care 🐾💕🐾
And the most beautiful
Yeah except for our kids.
@@kyos8462 not sure about that
I am crying…tears of joy! Beautiful story.❤❤❤❤❤
"Her" family found her! As the owner of a husky cross, I can say I recognize all that crying and emotion coming from the dog. They're a beautiful breed.
its not a husky its a shetland sheepdog
@@joegordon-p6x It looks more like a husky, with the blue eyes, so I'd wager it's a cross, rather than purebred.
husky cross possibly but not a Siberian Husky as stated in the title @@dylandonaghue6750
Unfortunately they're also horrible escape artists and once they get loose take off. My Newfie can be left out front without a fence while I'm out there and he won't even leave my yard if another dog walks by. TRAIN your dogs!!!!!
I’m happy Ashley found her family again but I’m also heartbroken for all the other dogs that are desperate to be picked up and taken to a loving home too
Oh the stress its caused us all waiting for Ashley to be able to get to her humans!! Its a lovely story though & I'm thrilled that she was found! 👏🇬🇧💕
@linm9598 My thoughts exactly, why did it take so long to get the key? That guy was in slow motion.
@@phammond8155omg he took forever!
If one of the employees could have escorted them and been nearby just in case it was the right dog, I was thinking the same thing about what took the person so long.
That dude was taking his sweet time, wasn't he?! 😠
This just brings happy tears to your eyes. Blessings that all of the animals find their forever homes or are reunited if lost.❤
This story brought tears to my eyes! So glad this family was reunited! I don't think I have ever seen a happier dog!
I'm soooooooo happy Ashley was found and reunited with her mom. Kudos to the rescue people who helped her mom get her back. Beautiful❤❤❤❤
My heart breaks for the other dogs in the shelter. They feel the energy of Ashley and her owners coming to claim her.
God bless all 3 of you.
I'm so glad that they were reunited. That what killed me was he knew they were there and couldn't come out for just a bit and that dsturbed me. He was stressed out. Other than that I'm so happy for them. 😇💖😇
Yes it was a torturous wait! So rewarding tho!
@@dloesch Oh yes they were certainly blessed. I'm so glad for them 😇
Certainly took the attendant long enough to get her out & still held on to the leash- smh
to be fair, the reason this whole thing started was that she ran out a door someone left open, so probably just to be 1000% safe. :) @@cherylsmith4826
Heart warming and emotional. What a lovely moment of realisation 🥺 It’s hard knowing all the other animals are waiting for their forever home. When we rescued our recent cat, seeing all the others especially the elderly ones, was upsetting. He was estimated to be around 1 year old but had been abandoned by his male owner in his mid 20’s when he moved away. He took his dog but left what was then a 6 month old kitten to fend for itself. He was covered in mud and dust with sore eyes. When we cleaned and brushed him, cleaned his eyes and fed him up the transformation was incredible. He’s a stunning creamy white short haired cat with green eyes, intelligent and has such a gentle nature. We called him Casper and we love him to bits 😻
That brings tears to my eyes. I love cats but also dogs and other animals. When we emigrated to America we took our cats with us. According to the airport, we were allowed to take them to Economy Class. Both were in 2 transport baskets. But the stewardes didn't allow that. She wanted to talk to the captain and I said well then talk to him, I don't care, I don't go anywhere without my cats.
She came back and, exceptionally, we were allowed into business class.
That was great and will never forget that.
I will never let my animals down!! That's family. Thank you for saving the little one !
@@NiniRockX That’s adorable ❤️ well done you 👏🏻 AND you got into business class! That’s one in the eye for that stewardess 😂 Our pets are our family members, only animal lovers truly appreciate that. Thank you for sharing that, it’s made my day ☺️
Bien por la familia de Ashley!!....👏👏
Da pena ver y escuchar a los otros perritos que quedarán 😢
That's what I was thinking too. I pray they all will find a beautiful forever home!♥️🐕♥️
Same here. My heart sank seeing the others. I can't help but wonder if in their limited understanding they thought maybe someone was coming for them, too. 😥 May all the animals there find loving forever homes. ❤
@@auntiec6294After a lifetime shared with dogs I am sure their understanding is far from limited.
@@auntiec6294Good comment, but I think they have more than limited understanding !! They have their emotions and maybe, a 6th sense !
That’s exactly what I was thinking as I listened to all those furbabies. ☹️😢 I pray too that they find forever homes!❤
No better advert for getting your animal chipped (and keeping it up to date)!
So glad they found one another, xxx
Hope the other dogs find homes too. They all deserve a moment like this.
Pretty much confirms for any doubters that dogs have memory and feelings. That's some joy there.
why would anyone ever doubt they do? Only a simpleton would.
This exact thing happened to me when Tofu was 4 months old. I was at work & had my parents watched them! My mom left patio door opened, Tofu came out to explore! He got abducted! I didn't have a chance to put a microchip in him. I posted flyers everywhere. I cried & was so worried! I have ZERO social media. All moms & grandma from my neighborhood posted Tofu's pic all over! His pic even got all the way to New York lol. Three days later, a man called. He said, "Look I don't want to make this call, but my mom said I need to do the right thing. I'm calling you to let you know I have your dog. My daughter loves him so much I didn't want to make this call." I didn't care. At midnight, I drove to his house and picked up Tofu. PS... His mom saw Tofu's pic on Craigs List & Facebook. So glad they united! We love happy ending!
Awesome, DON'T CHIP Him ,Her, INTERNALLY,... MY DOG DIED FROM IT
Tofu ❤.
Bittersweet moment, I'm sure. That's your dog, and you deserved to have him back. But I'm sure the other family was heartbroken, as well.
@@teresaakers1191 The “man” that stole your dog gets a tiny portion of his good person qualification card restored by returning your dog to you. What kind of example does he set for his family by stealing someone else’s dog? I also wonder if he explained to his daughter that he stole the dog?
Oops, my response was intended for the Labradoodle Tofu post. 🐶
"My mom said I need to do the right thing," can't imagine the morals of this guy. I'd be ashamed if he were my son. Happy you got your dog back
@@ronsamborski6230 I didn't get out of that that he stole the dog. I got out of that that he probably purchased the dog from someone that stole the dog. Next time, come at me correct. I'm not siding with someone that stole a dog. And in my opinion, if he did steal the dog, he wouldn't care what his mom said because he was a horrible person that stole a dog. But as I said, I'm thinking he bought the dog from someone that stole it and sold it to him. Don't come at me like that, as if I'm some horrible person that's all for dognapping because I'm not. That's not what my statement was trying to convey. Good day to you!
I am happy this sweet doggy finally has her family back again but I feel so sorry for the other dogs 😥💔💔💔
Человек и собака нашли друг друга!!!!!!! Спасибо за это прекрасное видео!!!!!!! ❤❤❤
What a beautiful ending to what I’m sure was a very traumatic ordeal! So glad you found Ashley! It was quite obvious that all of you were overjoyed! YAY! ❤
Ashley had no microchip or collar, because she has bad owners.
(even with the microchip, if you don't have a collar with contact details then congrats, you're a terrible owner)
I started to feel so sorry for all the other dogs in the shelter.
I’m so glad they found their beloved dog ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm very happy for this family to be reunited, ...but my heart breaks for all the other dogs still stuck in there.
the guy at 0:34, that's pure calm happiness
This video is enough to make anyone smile.
I'd love all the neighbouring dogs to find their ppl too 😔
Gosh the bloody suspense made my BP go up....I thought I would not see them unite...please why did that staff take so long....my heart was beating so fast...
That's what I thought. If they knew they were there for Ashley, go with them and open the door.
Came to say I felt bad for all the other dogs but apparently we all feel the same way! Love that they reunited, and I hope all the doggos find a good home!
The wait until they were finally in each others arms seemed like an eternity to me. So happy for Ashley and her Mama ❤
Just thinking open than dam door now.
Same here. I was also wondering why they put a leash on her. There was no way she was going anywhere else!!
They tortured the dog for clicks and likes and in the hope that gullible fools give them money.
Bravo, je suis content que vous ayez retrouvé votre chien, ça m'a ému aux larmes ❤❤❤
Didn’t expect to cry this morning, seeing her paw at the window and whine like that
