He has also never had even a top twenty defense. The playoffs is where all the top ten defenses meet, with very few exceptions. And Kirk is one of only two QBs who has managed to even get to the playoffs with a bottom five defense, which he did in 2015 with the Redskins. Matt Ryan with the Falcons is the other one. Brady has never done that. Rodgers has never done it. Peyton Manning has never done it. Mahomes has never done it. Kirk has. Now, Ryan even went to the Super Bowl when he did it and that was more impressive, even if his defense stiffened a lot once they got in for some reason. But it's still pretty impressive. You gotta look at the gear people are using while trying to do things, not just how they look doing it. I've always said, give him a good defense and Kirk can win you one. But no one ever did.
Not even a Kirk fan here, but dude doesn’t throw for 500 and 3 tugs in the NFL if he’s lost his abilities. Kirko had a couple bad games, give him a little room before ending his career lol.
I would usually agree with someone saying this statement but my brother this man tripped all the way out in that Chargers game. That 3rd interception which was a pick 6 was so slowly thrown I couldn't believe my eyes.
yeah literally what i was saying when i read the title it’s insane what are we even talking everyone has a few rough stints but dawg throwing 500 and beating decent teams in 1 minute drives and almost going to the beat the chiefs is not a easy feat
Falcons fan here, watch all the games and been to a couple this season including the Philly Monday night game. The "zip" hasn't consistently been there all season. If you look at his stats outside of the two have against the Bucs he's abysmal. 226 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. That's enough to get anyone else benched in this same situation.
Agreed but he did at least show flashes of big games 4 TDs 500 yards but outside that garbage I would've been tried penix out there I'm hyped to see it I'm a ravens fan but I think penix could be a force
Cirk Kousins is the most financially successful Mid QB to ever quarterback... Edit= By Mid, I'm referring to draft position. Only 3rds and lower can hold weight in this. Bradford, Watson, Janiel Dones, etc were high draft picks.
This made me lol. If you look at every stat category, Cousins is either 9th or 10th in the NFL. Granted, he IS leading the league in INTs though. IMHO he is having a fairly typical Kirk Cousins season. Falcons are getting what they paid for: a QB that will give you decent stats, will win one or two during the season from his play, but will also lose one. He won't be "the reason" you are a contender, but he won't lose you the season either.
"He won't be the reason you are a contender". And you know this how exactly?? Kirk has had bad defenses for most of his career and bottom of the league pass protection while he was in Minnesota. Sean McVay and Mike Shanahan have both said that Kirk can lead his team to a Super Bowl win. It's obvious that you are biased that 4th rounders can never be great.
@@Paula-mv8im 13 seasons of.....not being the reason. He's a solid NFL starter, I might even say he's a good NFL starter. He's even been a "top 10" NFL starter in his career. But "difference maker" QB's are the exception in the NFL, not the rule. There are only 2 or 3 guys who fall into that category. Everyone else? Needs the decent defense, good special teams, great o-line play. A running game. And I'm not biased, I'm realistic. Note: Kirk Cousins is one of my favorite NFL players for a number of reasons. But I have no illusions about what kind of player he is.
I'll never forget that 98% of yall thought the Falcons drafting this kid was a gigantic whiff of a draft pick. I just remember sitting back and realizing that not only did they have a great bridge QB to ease him into the league but they also absolutely ruined my Raiders as we sat there smugly thinking one of the top QB prospects in years would somehow fall to us with no effort on our part. The rest of that draft was a blur as I internalized the fact that AOC and Minshew were our QBs on our roster......
I think the national media jabroni haircuts thought cousins was the answer and weren't knocking Penix. They didn't understand why you would draft him if you had cousins. Meanwhile, the Falcons approach was exactly what the Vikings wanted to do but cheaper. He wanted the cash and they let him walk. The only thing wrong with the Falcons plan was the price of the contract.
kurt warner was actually my neighbor.. not the football player but this older guy thatwas like a father figure to me! the address was 58 and im like "5+8=13 like kurt warners number! Isnt that crazy" but nobody cared haha. then i became a little preacher boy like the football player
First year coming off that injury. It could be that it’ll take through all of this off season to see how much leg strength, flexibility AND confidence in it, he can fully regain. I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes a comeback next year
They got Penix after getting Kirk because they wanted Penix to develop and sit behind Kirk to learn things for when he eventually starts, he'll be a good quaterback.
I'll never forget Kirk's comment 'It's not about the money, it's about what the money represents." Whatever that meant, I'm glad the Vikings didn't pay it. Kirk had the advantage of being best QB in a weak free agency year and Minnesota were a bit desperate. I didn't like the original signing, didn't like the extensions (felt a bit like being held hostage), so I was happy to see him go for McCarthy in the draft. And oh yeah...Sam Darnold. At least for this 'rebuild' season, we're doing alright. You like that, Kirk?
It's not about the money, it's about what the money represents." = being valued. What Kirk was saying was he didn't need a huge amount of money but he also didn't want to be paid a ridiculously low amount. If your boss only wanted to pay you $10 / hour, would you feel valued??? Remember, Kirk offered to take less than his 35 million and Adofo-Mensa said no. The Vikings were NOT desperate. They wanted an upgrade at quarterback and a guy that can stay healthy. They got that in Kirk Cousins. When Kirk hit free agency in 2018, there was virtually no precedent for a healthy, Pro Bowl caliber, established NFL quarterback hitting the free agent market while still in his prime. Kirk was sixth in passer rating and seventh in total QBR as a starter in Washington. A lot of teams would kill for Kirk's production. How were the Vikings held hostage? You got a guy that is doing his part to win games....you keep him. As for Darnold...the Vikings will be one and done in the playoffs with him as quarterback. He's just not a difference maker.
@@Paula-mv8im Kirk got his bag--and his respect--in all the guaranteed money the Vikings paid him over the years. If he still feels undervalued, that's on him. Everything else is a nice stats readout, but he didn't win us very many playoff games. Kirk Cousins was not the difference maker he was paid to be, period. If you think Darnold has not been a difference maker, you must be watching different football games. He's no Josh Allen, but he has, repeatedly, gotten us that score (or at least in a position to score) at the end of the game when it's needed. Cousins was always overvalued based on his statistical output.
"Its not about the money, I love the game, yada yada"... These QB divas are all the same: Greedy basterds playing with injuries, because they are well aware, the back up earning 1 mio is as much talented as them... Them back ups just need reps to produce the same numbers. A simple truth, known since 100 years, it just didnt got to incompetent front offices, loud speakers, yt influencers and fanbois yet.
I don't know. As a Lions fan, Goff has had a few bad games where he throws multiple interceptions that are really bad. If we benched him/moved on from him after those we would have all the success we've had. I think it is kind of silly to think about moving on from him because of a few bad games.
Well to be fair Goff has a few more accolades on his resume to justify sticking it out. Idk if Kirk has that same wiggle room but just my opinion idk lol
Exactly, Penix is still growing and wouldn't change much especially when we have a chance to run the playoffs, Penix ain't ready for that unless I'm proven wrong. This is only year 1 in a new system but still terrible performance vs Chargers
Thats right. Ive always likened cousins and goff as a very similar player type, production/swing wise. They both can be damn good but inevitably always have inexplicably bad games or stretches. Though goff been pretty solid. I also throw Dak in that group.
Remember when he threw for 500 yards and 4 tds this year? Pepridge farm remebers. Wasn't fool enough to let that performance sway my opinions of mid cousins
@@draco2xx News flash.....EVERY quarterback has a bad game once in awhile.Kirk’s career passer rating is 98.2. which is the 8th highest passer rating in NFL history…..in NFL history. Kirk is a mid quarterback?? Nothing in Kirk's past performance backs that up AT ALL!! #1 his win-loss record certainly isn't mediocre. #2 in his last full season in 2022, his peers voted him as the 6th best quarterback in the NFL (NFL top 100 in 2023) #3 And he was playing like a top 10 quarterback in 2022. #4 Mediocre quarterbacks don't lead their team to the greatest comeback (33 points) in NFL history. #5 Mediocre quarterbacks also don't lead their team to a 13-4 season with a 28th ranked run game and a 31st ranked defense. #6 Mediocre quarterbacks ALSO don’t lead the league in game winning drives (eight) and 4th quarter comebacks (eight) which is tied with Stafford’s record. #7 In 2023, before he got hurt, he was tied for 1st in touchdowns, 1st in pass attempts, 1st in pass completions, 2nd in passing yards, 3rd in QB rating, and 5th in completion percentage…. that is a top 5 quarterback, btw. #8 Kirk’s career passer rating is 98.2. which is the 8th highest passer rating in NFL history…..in NFL history. Im glad kirk made his money and doesn't have to worry about money at all. Hes a good family man and im happy for him and his family. And i think his family is truly what matters most to him.
That’s all on Payton. He took it upon himself to try and devalue Wilson out of the league, the hate was beyond comprehension. Most narcissistic coaches don’t want anyone like Wilson to get credit for success. He wanted his own boy
As a Vikings fan all I have to say is that’s Kirk. He’ll come back and have 4 outstanding games. He just has games where the defense just seems to know exactly what he’s doing, leaving you to think what he’s doing.
I’m a falcons fan and Kirk has given us some great memories this season and I do love Kirk but he’s got the rest of the season to bounce back or we have to play Penix
He needs to get more comfortable in the system, he can’t make up for his lack of knowledge with his legs. He doesn’t even have a year under his belt in this system and y’all want to write him off🤦♂️. This is why you’re not the GM, why rush Penix if your QB that got paid massive money is still available. You want to risk hindering his confidence this early in his career?? The Falcons made the decision that Penix will sit and their not just gonna abandon their plan bc it doesn’t fit the medias narrative. Be patient if it doesn’t work at least you know you didn’t jump ship on your plan.
Penix is the future. You ride Kirk for the rest of the year and then you go with Penix next year. For sure. Like trade Kirk so there’s not even potential of a controversy if Penix struggles early.
@@tylerdrake1113 His arm is shot but keep playing him? I blame Morris and Robinson. They're the ones who insisted on getting this overrated, overpaid....
Rember, he backed up RG3 in Washington. He sucked back then also, went to Minnesota and stunk up the joint there. Now he’s in Atlanta, stinking up the joint there.
Mike drops and Atlanta Falcons Video? Hell just froze over... I cant believe we got an Atl video before GTA 6... Mike rarely shys away from the same 6 teams or players.
Riight.....Kirk had a 117 passer rating vs the Eagles, 97 passer rating vs Carolina, 90 passer rating vs Chiefs. Stop being lazy and check his stats before posting such nonsense.
I said this about cousins many months ago when everyone was glowing over Atlanta winning with cousins I said all along that cousins would fizz out like he normally does and return to throwing interceptions like he has in the past and Loseing and I was right with my prediction 🔮
There is this guy, named Tom Brady, he played QB in the NFL. He had 6 games with 4 interceptions. He had 3 games with 3 interceptions. Joe Montana had 1 game with 4 interceptions, 6 games with 3. Brett Favre, 1 game with 5, 5 games with 4 interceptions, 19+ games with 3 interceptions. This is Kirk's 2nd 4 interceptions game, with 6 games of 3 interceptions. It happens to the best. Get over it. Very few of you haters could throw 1 touchdown pass in the NFL. Peyton Manning, 6 interceptions in 1 game, 5 games with 4 interceptions, 14 games with 3 interceptions.
u think if cousins had 1 or more rings like the above crew he would get more slack but he doesnt most of those guys also were in the big show at young age (under 30 ) at least once
The fact you compared a mid QB like cousins to the games greatest is hilarious. He's not even in the picture for the best of his time, let alone all time. Not even the coaches, players or execs in the league rate him as a top ten player.
By this logic, Kirk Cousins is as good as these all time greats you just mentioned lol. Also, what does it prove that none of the "haters" are capable of throwing a touchdown in the NFL? lol... Only a handful of guys have ever done that. Doesn't mean everyone else can't have an opinion or point out an inconvenient truth.
Kurt not having any zip on the ball is only partially to blame for the interceptions. If you've watched the falcons all year and paid attention you'd know how predictable the play calling is. What's happening is defenses has caught on and Zack Robinson hasn't made any adjustments to his game plan. I think that Kurt's limited abilities plays a role in that as well
Who is Kurt? Do you seriously not know the name of the Falcons' quarterback? You're seeing what you wanna see if you think there is no zip on his passes. On the one interception in the end zone, the broadcasters (a former NFL player) said it was a miscommunication and the receivers were not in the right spot. And on that other one, Drake tripped. Kirk forced the passes because the pocket was collapsing.
Broooooooo I’m so late. I been subscribed to your NBA TH-cam the flightmike since the pandemic in 2020 and watched faithfully and I’m just now finding out you also have an NFL page 😂😂😂😂 wtf
I like the idea of teams having a rookie QB sit under a QB that has been in the league for a few years and "produced" give them some time to watch and learn. I understand the rookie contracts are cheap but if you believe in a guy give them a chance to succeed instead of tossing them out there.
It sucks to see the downfall of Kirko because I can see how heated he gets when he makes a bad play or things are not going well. I can tell he wants to win and play at a high level.
It was two bad games. That's hardly a downfall. Sure, Kirk didn't throw a touchdown in the Saints game but he threw 300+ yards, the Falcons ran the ball A LOT, scored on the ground and only lost by three points. What does it matter if you score a TD with a pass or a run? That was hardly a bad game.
Benched?? that's dumb ....and injury? this was Kirk's first injury in 12 seasons. And your rookie quarterback is unproven with a significant injury history....smh. Kirk is on a new team with young receivers and a first time OC. It takes a while to get that chemistry.
As a Washington Fan never understood the hype for Captain Interception. He constantly meltsdown in key moments. Was overjoyed to see him sign with Vikings. Before the Vikings signed him they where 1 game away from Super Bowl. The Vikings had good regular seasons but really nothing during post season. If I played Fantasy Football I want him to be own my team, But as a NFL Starting QB never been elite puts up great stats but when everything doesnt go as planed folds like cheap chair. Atlanta Signed him to settle QB position until rookie was ready to play without forcing him to play before ready to play
About those stats.... Kirk's great stats= stat padder Other QBs = MVPs Kirk's stats not as great= he's the worst QB ever Washington fan...and RGIII fan boy. That explains a lot. Kirk was the better quarterback and you just can't accept reality. It's sad really. RGIII was a one hit wonder and you wouldn't know talent if it hit you in the face. "constantly melts down in key moments" Seriously?? Instead of checking the data, people parrot false narratives that simply do not exist. Fools will be fools.
@@Paula-mv8im whatever never said s thing about RG3 Did I know was 1 hit wonder was glad when benched him also. WTF when ever someone doesnt buy into the hype of captain interception must assume a RG3 fan How Many playoff games has he won even with the talent the vikings have had on the offense
It's so crazy watching this unfold as a Vikings fan. All the time he was here people recognized that he had high end-talent around him and refused to give him credit. The MOMENT he left suddenly he was supposed to transform the Falcons into a Superbowl contender, without a name like Justin Jefferson on the roster. Anyone with eyes could have predicted how it was going to go for Atlanta, good but not great. That's not me discrediting him either, he's a good starting tier quarterback that you should never pay top tier money. You can absolutely win a Superbowl with Kirk Cousins, if you don't pay him like he's Mahomes. And damn what a video title. Kirk's playing right around where he should be, I'd say within the top 12 statistically even with the interceptions.
Because the Falcons wanted an elite processor who is accurate to maximize the young receivers. That's not Fields or Wilson. Sign a cheaper quarterback = another 7-10 season.
@ Uhh sir, we’re 6-6 with an expensive, old QB who let’s balls drift and just threw for 4 picks. Meanwhile, Russ just blew out the Bengals and is more accurate than Kirk at this point of his career. You act as if we’re 9-3 right now. 🤣🤣🤣
@mikerophone Im a Washington fan, been watching Kirk since Day 1. Nobody ever thought after being drafted behind RG3 that kirk would have the Way better career and make way more money and produce wayyyy more highlights. Kirk is a perfectionist and when things don't go perfect, he tries harder and I have seen him play games where he was significantly hurt and tried his best to push through it. You are correct that these injuries might be hindering his abilities right now.But I would not go as far to say his career is over. The man has never really had a horrible season ever. He is consistently consistent. All of the greats. Have had a game or two in the same season where they did horrible, but still went on too.Make the hall of fame, or just be very rememberable, As a great, i use voice to text and I don't proofread, so excuse my typos. Next comment ill show some examples. I don't think they will fit all in here. I love your videos mike. Saints game: 1 interception Broncos game: 1 interception Chargers game: 4 interceptions Kirk has only thrown 4 interceptions in a game TWICE in his 13 year career. And he barely throws 3 interceptions in a game.
Oh gosh, you betcha. We were NEVER gonna give him that much for a dude who even with the best version of himself unlocked under KOC was still pretty mid when the chips were down.
Kirk was 8-0 before his injury with the Vikings. With the defense they have this year he'd be having the same season as Darnold right now. The advantage of Darnold is that he's way cheaper.
As Scott Adams once wrote, “I admire your ability to get paid for this.” A dude in his condition at his age brings home the bag (thanks to one of the more dysfunctional front offices/owners in the league) and people wonder if he’s past his prime. There’s a reason there’s only been one Tom Brady; most sensible human beings aren’t so hyper maniacal about staying in the condition you need to keep in order to play this game at a high level once they pass age 40, let alone 35 that they feel the need to sacrifice their off the field quality of life to do it. Kirk seems like a good dude (especially for a Sparty), but at this point in the 2024 season he’s thrown more INTs (admittedly with more playing time) than Desmond Ridder had thrown last year. The Falcons are at .500 and leading the worst division in football. It’s worth it to watch Arthur Blank setting all that money on fire with a first round playoff exit being the best case scenario assuming the Falcons can finish strong. But if history teaches us anything, the Falcons are likely going to blow even that.
Just to clarify, the GM wasn't explaining himself about picking Penix. He was explaining what it would take to get back into the first round for defense. That was taken out of context because everybody, including a lot of falcons fans were taken by Surprise. Why would the owner not know about the top 10 pick and a QB at that
I think the “why” of paying Cousins so much money is still a mystery. I get the Penix pick, but going for Cousins and paying him that much does not make a ton of sense to me.
Really??? It's two bad games. Sure, Kirk didn't throw a touchdown in the Saints game but he threw 300+ yards, the Falcons ran the ball A LOT, scored on the ground and only lost by three points. What does it matter if you score a TD with a pass or a run? That was hardly a bad game.
@@cerebralfanatic He was throwing deep passes four months after his surgery. Have you never heard of advancements in medical technology??And once the offense started gelling, he was playing well and was top 10 in MVP voting at one point.
Rookie quarterbacks are having problems developing bc they're only given about eight games to develop. Ok, First round quarterbacks are maybe given a year, but then any regression in year two and they're out. Most quarterbacks are going to regress in year two as defensive coordinators catch up to the quarterback that they hadn't had a film on, now having had an entire offseason to study said film. Cousins and Bryce young are great examples of guys who could be NFL quarterbacks if teams were more patient, and really it's if fan bases were more patient
Cousins has a no trade clause, he won’t let them send him away to any team that’s desperate for a QB. He would be cut and go somewhere like Russell Wilson did
The guaranteed money and no trade clause is the reason his agent deserves to be in the H.O.F. Getting your Cousin's a contract such as that after the injury he suffered only a few months prior is increable.
My uncle was a starting NFL QB in the late 70s/early 8os, and believes he would never have made it in the NFL today. He said QBs used to get 3 to 5 years to develop prior to becoming a starter whereas they are often pushed on the field right out of college these days. I don't say his name b/c I don't want to put words in his mouth. Again. 😅
Like I’ve said since draft, I believe Penix was an all star draft choice, now you have a young cheap stud at every offensive position. Over paying for an old injured NON CLUTCH QB was always the wrong decision
Love learned under Rodgers, who learned under Favre. Perhaps this is the model that more teams should follow. Yes, using a #8 for your backup is high, but with the price being paid for even mediocre starting QBs, this is a long-term bargain.
I’m a Falcons fan I’ve been following this team my whole life. When we got Kirk I knew we would be a first round exit team now I’m not sure we even make the playoffs. I would have much rather spent that money on a solid defense and hunted for a QB in the draft but we didn’t know if we’d get one so I see where Terry’s coming from. I just think if Arthur Blank wants to win a superbowl before he passes he needs to build a defense and stop relying on pocket passing qb’s to take us to the promise land.
I think a huge reason why Kirk cousins are struggling is because the injury of Rondale Moore. He’s a slot receiver who has incredible speed into replace that with a very slow Ray Ray McLeod is throwing off his timing.
I remember telling non ATL fans the reason why it’s makes sense to get Kirk and MPJ (can’t justify the price though). They still thought it was dumb. qb’s do not fall from the sky, and Kirk gets you enough wins (like Dak) to keep you away from the top prospects. They had to make this move now. Also if we wanna be fully honest, Arthur smith got fired last year. Terry Fotenote was next Kirk allows him to keep his job.
I had an issue with penixs age of 24 Either you overpaid kirk and you can't build a team around penix Or You wasted 3 years of penix and he starts his first game at 27 28 n you only get 5 6 years value at pick 8 I get the move IF IT was a 1 to 2 year contract Or worse neither are good and you're in cap hell like the saints and you have to rebuild a rebuild with no cap n no draft capital
As a vikes fan, so happy we paying darnold 30 million less for a much better qb, statistically and play this year alone. Not to mention upside if they keep darnold around on the very cheap. Not likely as darnold will go get his bag after being screwed over by jets and panthers. He has proven that he was a first round pick, just needed a team and coach to do their part
Falcons fan here. I was/am excited about Pennix. The sooner he gets game experience this year the better. The Vikings didn’t want to keep Cousins. There’s a message there. Make him the back-up or cut him.
Without a doubt after last game you MUST bench kirk cousins and start Penix! I dont care if that was tom brady out there.. the last 3 games destroyed a great season but it was the way he gave away this last game that made it impossible to let him play! Cousins looked worse than a last place highschool team QB! He just threw the ball up for grabs like a lame duck every single pass! He even threw an INT that was right to the other team hitting the defender in the chest with no other player arround for at least 10 yards! It actually looked like gamblers had him under their thumb and made him throw the game.. it was that bad! He was on fire but for whatever reason that was possibly the worst performance from QB in any NFL game ive watched for 50years! Hard to say move on after the guy comes back from an achilles injury. Every player that comes back to play after that isn’t back to 100% mentally/physically. I’m not saying move on but because the NFL is a business, I could see them benching him.
Dude blew it. Left for $$'s and could have stayed in MN for a ring. Imagine if he stayed in MN for less and leveraged the team to use the cap headroom for a rock solid OL.
There’s a reason the Vikings didn’t re-sign Kirk again. Bc we all saw that KOC was a huge reason for Kirk’s success and there was more value in spreading out money for Kirk into things like our entire defense!
He appeared to have lost steam, but there were plays that he made that his wr core failed him on. London dropping passes and not even hustling, Pitts as well. Mooney is a solid #2 yet he's the #1 option because London shouldn't be a starter... Cousins can only do so much.
Never thought Cousins was much of a quarterback. Watched him when he played for Washington Commanders(Redskins). Could not understand why the Vikings and now the Falcons signed him.
Atlanta was hoping he played good and did cousins a solid with the contract and anticipated he'd have a market after decent play but that's probably out the window
Mike is the undertaker of all these NFL players after a couple of games...lol. Lets wait for next week's video when Cousins has a good game and calls him the MVP of the league! Lol😅

Kirk has fleeced them all. One playoff win in a decade. Over the course of his career he will have made 400 million. Laughing all the way to the bank.
Not really fair bc he only made the playoffs like 3 times during the last 10 years
He has also never had even a top twenty defense.
This has been my overall take. No one can convince me he earned that money, but he has all my respect for convincing others to give it to him! 🫡

@@nicholassparks8841 LOL Yeah I definitely think Sam Bradford wins this award.
Bro just watch him compared to before the Achilles injury he has ZERO zip on the ball
@@bigda6407 You're seeing what you wanna see...smh. That is completely false.
You would think Jameis Winston is catching up on interceptions after the last browns game..
I was elated when Atlanta signed Cousins! I'm a Vikings fan.
Damn Mike, if every players career is over as much as you say. Then we would only have 10 players left in the league😂
This one is justified man. Did you see that game against the Chargers?
How the hell can you say one way or another by what....5 or 6 passes. Wow, how many games/yrs did Mr. Glass miss in college? Lol
WTF are you smoking dude? Cousins is 36 and was drafted by the Redskins in the 4th round.
Penix didn't need a bridge. He's 24. You're just wasting his career.

I’m a die hard falcons fan. I can’t believe you made the video the amount of time you did. Ruthless…
He … LIKES THAT!! (maybe not)
It's not about the money, it's about what the money represents." = being valued.

This is only year 1 in a new system but still terrible performance vs Chargers
this actually gave me a moment of clarity, even though it's been 3 GAMES SINCE KIRK'S THROWN A TD. what's the TD drought looking like for goff though?
Thats right. Ive always likened cousins and goff as a very similar player type, production/swing wise. They both can be damn good but inevitably always have inexplicably bad games or stretches. Though goff been pretty solid. I also throw Dak in that group.

Only a handful of guys have ever done that. Doesn't mean everyone else can't have an opinion or point out an inconvenient truth.
Lol,.....Cousins is no Brady.😂
I have not watched a single Falcons game since that SB loss. I laughed at everyone I know hyping this team this year, and I'm still laughing.

Soooo why did Falcons pay Kirk to that big of a contract? Could’ve gotten Russell Wilson or Justin Fields for far less and still drafted Penix Jr.
Because the Falcons wanted an elite processor who is accurate to maximize the young receivers. That's not Fields or Wilson. Sign a cheaper quarterback = another 7-10 season.

Kirk was 8-0 before his injury with the Vikings. With the defense they have this year he'd be having the same season as Darnold right now. The advantage of Darnold is that he's way cheaper.
You betchya
He’s in the same boat as Rodger’s still kinda recovering from him injury he probably isn’t 100 yet
THAT 500 yard reception game vs the Buccaneers seems a LONG time ago.
Kirk falling off as soon as the falcons got him is insane, it’s too early to say but if he is falling off, he might have to retire.
They chose to take him after an Achilles injury

Except it's not long term since penix is an older rookie
I’m a Falcons fan I’ve been following this team my whole life. When we got Kirk I knew we would be a first round exit team now I’m not sure we even make the playoffs. I would have much rather spent that money on a solid defense and hunted for a QB in the draft but we didn’t know if we’d get one so I see where Terry’s coming from. I just think if Arthur Blank wants to win a superbowl before he passes he needs to build a defense and stop relying on pocket passing qb’s to take us to the promise land.
Wow there for the lows not there for our highs lol as always Mike
I think a huge reason why Kirk cousins are struggling is because the injury of Rondale Moore. He’s a slot receiver who has incredible speed into replace that with a very slow Ray Ray McLeod is throwing off his timing.
HE HAS MADE SOOOOOOOO MUCH MONEY ITS CRAZY... 💰 in his career
I had an issue with penixs age of 24
Either you overpaid kirk and you can't build a team around penix
Or
You wasted 3 years of penix and he starts his first game at 27 28 n you only get 5 6 years value at pick 8
I get the move IF IT was a 1 to 2 year contract
Or worse neither are good and you're in cap hell like the saints and you have to rebuild a rebuild with no cap n no draft capital
Been a huge fan of his ever since he came into the league with Washington. One of the most consistent QBS
Kirko bangs is crazy 😂
I gotta give you props my guy because you have seen and explained exactly what i see and what i think perfectly. So you won me over as a new subscriber. ive now watched a few of your videos and you are so RIGHT ON about every subject. Finally someone sees exactly what i see and thinks how i think. I will be watching and enjoying all of your future videos. Thank u for your insight, hardwork and for making very informative quality videos!🔥🙌
Time for you to think about making a video on my 8-5 Broncos
I don't know if his career is over, but I'm definitely glad the Vikings didn't give him that contract to keep him.
this contract is a steal.🤣🤣illustrates exactly how absurd pro sports are now.
Buddy says he don’t often say ppl need to retire 😂
Talk about the Texans I’m a loyal fan frustrated about our season and now more frustrated with Alshaiir getting suspended
Hard to say move on after the guy comes back from an achilles injury. Every player that comes back to play after that isn’t back to 100% mentally/physically. I’m not saying move on but because the NFL is a business, I could see them benching him.
Hold on bih…..did Kirk just quote Bankroll?! 🤯lol
Dude blew it. Left for $$'s and could have stayed in MN for a ring. Imagine if he stayed in MN for less and leveraged the team to use the cap headroom for a rock solid OL.
Love to see my favorite qb in the draft get a chance to shine cause I know he will
The Falcons screwed up signing Cousins. However that contract is not easy to move off of.
There’s a reason the Vikings didn’t re-sign Kirk again. Bc we all saw that KOC was a huge reason for Kirk’s success and there was more value in spreading out money for Kirk into things like our entire defense!
I honestly thank we should wait the end of the season
He appeared to have lost steam, but there were plays that he made that his wr core failed him on. London dropping passes and not even hustling, Pitts as well. Mooney is a solid #2 yet he's the #1 option because London shouldn't be a starter... Cousins can only do so much.
Nice video. How much film on Kirk? I believe he plays for stats. Good on paper, not so good in do or die situation?!
Sincerely, MN Fan.❤
New drinking game. Take a shot everytime Mike says "remarkable"
I wanna see Penix Start bro
Never thought Cousins was much of a quarterback. Watched him when he played for Washington Commanders(Redskins). Could not understand why the Vikings and now the Falcons signed him.
Mike when are we getting a Bo Nix and Broncos video ?
A point that needs to be made is -dont jack the Penix!
Like your take on this one
Atlanta was hoping he played good and did cousins a solid with the contract and anticipated he'd have a market after decent play but that's probably out the window
Mike is the undertaker of all these NFL players after a couple of games...lol. Lets wait for next week's video when Cousins has a good game and calls him the MVP of the league! Lol😅
As a Vikings fan, I pray that Gernard sacks him 6 times and AVG picks him off 4 times.
