  • A long and sometimes rambling talk about the value of these cars. A detailed break-down will be coming during our upcoming video buyer's guide so this is just a wide view discussion rather than specific models and colors.
If you have bought or sold a 1992-1997 Audi S4 or S6 here in the USA in the past year please help us by providing your data! s-cars.org/site/7862-2/

Your take on these cars is right on! I'm a 3rd owner of my emerald 93, and have had it for 20 years. It has 143k now, bought it at 80k when I worked at an Audi dealer for $8900. I have parked it off and on over the years, but have just driven it and am now into it again! I went to a 2 Bennett event a while back and some people there thought a car like mine, which is very clean, has records and has not been over modified, would be worth $25-30k. We URS4/6 owners (AUDI owners in general) need to stand up and be like Porsche, BMW and Benz owners are, then the values would maintain. Thank you for all your S car work and info over the years!

This video motivates me to get away from State Farm. However since I'm not a homeowner with a garage to fit all my vehicles collector car policies exclude me... With a single car garage the S6 gets parked outdoors whenever the (admittedly very needy) Benz is on jack stands.

Ditto what Darin is saying that in the late 90’s and early 00’s it was easy to find nice clean examples of these because they were originally owned by “well heeled individuals”. The previous owner of my first S4 was the founder of DirectTV, the second one was a hedge fund guy, and my third S4 was previously owned by the President of Ferrari of North America (Ferrari was on the lease!). You can’t find that pedigree of ownership anymore. They are (for the most part) all restoration candidates or beaters now.

state farm could be its own documentary, the worst. as an audi technician , started is 95, getting the correct parts and finding a technician qualified to do the work for a reasonable price is another hurdle. not as many qualified techs with experience on these vintages. excellent care when working properly. good video and looking forward the next videos, 🍻

Good commentary! I've had... geez... 4 UrS6s, 2 sedans and 2 avants. I just bought my first avant back and am going to restore it. Gotta sell my S2 Avant now.

Good to see you here Ben. I saw your S2 Avant for sale online recently. Gorgeous car and color! How much work does your first Avant need? Are you looking at full strip-down restoration?

    Hi,
thank you for your video. I think your thoughts on the lacking support from the factory are true. It is getting a little bit better because of Audi Tradition here in Germany, but overall not near Mercedes and BMW. That is a shame, and a reason to keep the values of these cars down…

Unfortunately we still don’t have easy access the Tradition here in the U.S. Audi loves to showcase their history in marketing but they don’t seem to interested in seeing that they can stay in use among enthusiasts. As you said, virtually every other German manufacturer does it better. Cheers!

Good timing. I was looking to move my S4 sedan and S6 Avant over to Haggerty... as State Farm won't give me a pre-agreed upon value for the vehicles, and to be honest, they spend most of their time in my garage.

Here in Finland good condition sedans go for 15-25k and Avants from 7-12k . Interesting that Avants are more pricey there.

Yes, the market in Europe for the sedans is quite strong from what I have seen. They are definitely more loved over there. I know Finland has been a relative hot-spot for these cars for many years as well. Some very impressive builds over there!

Hey guys! Parts for this car is nearly unattainable for this beauties, and I’ve been trying to slowly restore my old girl to its glory…I’m currently looking for a replacement fuel gauge level sensor…does anyone know where I can get one?

I'm sorry I missed your comment earlier. Hopefully you've found a solution by now but if not, it could be as simple as repairing the wire on the level sensor. See: forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/365125.phtml

Thanks for the great information. We have much in common. We've been wanting to add a S6 avant to our little German fleet. We currently drive a c5 allroad K04 6spd and have a Porsche 928 v12/6spd (for sale)
