Random FFXI knowledge: Zoraal Ja, the single-head Mamool Ja claimant, in FFXI is a random notorious monster (field boss) you can fight. Of possible relevance to Dawntrail, in FFXI Zoraal Ja is a Beastmaster, who fights you alongside his pet Colibri. Bakool Ja Ja, the two headed claimant, is also in FFXI, as the leader of the Mamool, Strifelord Bakool Ja Ja. He's an FFXI style Dragoon who is aided by 3 wyverns instead of a typical Dragoon's one.
I've seen someone on Twitter, currently known as X, theorize that Erenville might be Halmarut of the Convocation('s Shard) (with or without his knowledge), because a) Halmarut is the only one currently unknown what his fate is, b) his Soul Crystal and Erenville's eyes share the same Yellow hue, and c) the connection between Halmarut being the "Cultivator of botanical and mycological creations" and Erenville as a Gleaner collecting and studying nature's bounty. I don't know how much I like this theory, because it's convincing, but also we were JUST done with the Ascians in Endwalker. It'd be weird if there was more Ascian Lore, even with only one individual of them.
Yoshi P, in one of his recent interviews, when asked what content people should play before Dawntrail, said that folks should complete the Myths of the Realm alliance raids, and to remember the names of all the members of the Convocation. There's only four now whose current status remains unknown: Altima, Deudalaphon, Pashtarot, and Halmarut. It seems highly likely that Dawntrail's plot is at least tangentially going to touch the ancients and the Convocation, even if they're no longer the main focus, and that we might meet the shards of one or two of those remaining four. Personally, I'm completely OK with this, as I think it would be a waste of all that careful world-building to never touch those concepts again; but I can understand why other folks would be ready for the story to move on from those elements.
Halmarut, Deudalaphon, Altima and Pashtarot are all unaccounted for. That's a good theory, I like it. I am leaninng toward the girl at the end being Pashtarot. It's very possible that Erenville is from Solution 9 originally and he "didn't find it" on purpose. I'm fine with more Ascian lore. It's a persistent world and there is nothing in existence that wasn't influenced, altered, or completely shaped by them. There is no real story they can tell that isn't in their footsteps as framing to some degree and with as much attention to detail that the world and lore receive, pretending that Night City was just right over there and the Ascians left it alone would be harder to believe.
We really do not need to have some relation to *every* Ascian. Erenville should just be Erenville without any extra fluff. but regardless, saying "he's Halmarut because his eyes are the same color" is reaching for straws that don't exist.
One additional theory so far, Endy: One of the other contenders wins instead of Wuk. Wants to claim the resources and tech from the Golden City/Solution 9. Starts a war they cannot win, Solution 9 attacks Tuliyollal. That’s why I feel Solution 9 will be introduced early as the second hub city and be friendly before the contest winner attacks and puts a dent in that peace.

Pretty much 95% confident at this point that Solution 9 is another shard attempting a forced merger with the Source. Up to now, the Ascians have forced floods of aether to consume the shard and then spill over into the Source. But without their interference, the shards remained separate due to Hydaelyn and her being aspected towards stasis. I'm thinking with Hydaelyn gone, the remaining shards are going to naturally try and merge into one and because the shards aren't being reduced to pure aether first, we're going to see physical manifestations cropping up all over the Source, with Solution 9 being the first one. Or it could just be a Wakanda....most tech advanced society on the planet hiding in plain sight.
After watching along your journey through ShB and Endwalker, and seeing how very close and sometimes spot on your theories were (except, you know, Meracydia lol), I'm very excited to see what you cork up for DT as we all play through it. I was never a lore-type guy. I read story, I enjoy story, but connecting dots or remembering something Random Guy said two expansions ago and connecting it to something current is something I've never been able to do, lol.

Beautiful video, Endy! Your corking definitely got me thinking even more than originally watching the trailer did. I DO have a crazy out there theory of my own. So far, Solution 9 seems to have technology that greatly outstrips Garlamald and is even different from the technology of Allag. As players have noted, it is quite the whiplash to everywhere else we find in Etheris. Which has made me come to an interesting theory. What if... we're looking at the remains of a civilization from another shard that has sought refuge in the source? We know Y'shtola is looking for a means to travel to the other shards. Is it possible for someone from Solution 9 to have the answer? I believe it was Yoshida who mentioned (I think) at the online fanfest during covid that some of the shards' civilizations would shock us. So, is this how we find a method to traverse the shards?

Were they the sacrifices that had to be made to keep it shut? And why? Also speaking of sacrifices, that line at the end only appears in the English trailer. In all other languages, this enigmatic maiden speaks of "now having the key in her hands to realise her own plans". Quite ominous if you ask me... _I went over all the different languages in my own video (pluggy plug plug) and mistakenly thought Galuf was a Roegadyn XD._ ANYWAY!! After watching the trailer and seeing media tour vids, this is my crazy guess: The similarities between the Qitana mural and the Tural murals isn't an accident. We know that the Ronka were crazy powerful, and they also had Mesoamerican themes. What if the city of gold was made by Ronkans who managed to managed to escape the 1st, when their civilization was about to fall? Some people might even know about it. We know the Ronkans were primarily Viis. Maybe Erenville is descended from them That would explain your suggestion that he might already know about the place.
Brilliant Corking as always Endy love the video, I think u may be on to something with Krile's parents i had the same thought myself as it makes sense why she would be so forlorn leaving Krile behind on what looks to be a one way trip. I also had thoughts after you mentioned the Ceruleum powered train that we have been told Tural is rich in Ceruleum at one of the PLL and shown an old west style rail station in concept artwork, I think elements of the story will involve immigration as refugees from Garlemald learn of the abundance of Ceruleum and flock to Tural to seek a better life maybe in what looks to be recently built towns we have been shown looking like the old west.
I am guessing the last zone (6th one) will be the City/Land of the Gold, a civilization/land frozen in time behind that portal, protected for some reason or otherwise and Krile parents may still be there.
We also know from an earlier LL or Fanfest that the story is split into 2 parts, connected but separate. I genuinely think by 85/86, the competition for the throne will be over, both Wuklamat and the catboi will he dawn servant, each taking the title of one of the heads. But the S9 stuff will be the 2nd half of the MSQ after the new leader is crowned.
I can't tell whether the motif that plays both times we see Krile interacting with the vault door is a variation on Celes' theme, or if the melodic progression is just coincidentally similar.
I thought the smaller stature pair on the tablet were Pelupelu as they seem to have a little bit of a protrusion like their masks. Hadn't even thought about the Lalas being Krile's parents but I love the theory!

The craziest thing is one of those sci people are holding a gun we saw concept art for in like Stormblood maybe? people worried this expansion could feel like filler after ending the H vs Z saga but i think some of these things have been cooking for a while and just not added till now.
Funny thing, if you go to the main reflection, in EW you go throygh the various scenarios, ending with the warring tribes, maybe those militaristic people came to eorzea and built there their cities or bastions, waiting for the the red or blue team to show up and battle them. anyways this is speculations though.
Definitely think its a red herring, can't shake the feeling that city of gold is an in world mistranslation as quite often happens irl, because its said the language used is a mixture of several languages from the new world.. maybe a place of great value meaning a store of knowledge /technology/power and its been twisted by trabslation /time. Just finished Dawntrail yesterday. Other than most I really enjoyed both parts of the story. Spoilers: Especially the last zone got me and held me in constant tears throughout since I am very prone to the concept of loss and the worth of memories. Also I couldn't find anything about this online and I was wondering if I had imagined it but as the cutscene for the final boss rolled I saw cracks in Azems crystal and my character looked kind of worrisome to use it again
