- Leave it to me to take make a 4 minute Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail trailer into a 30 minute video.... but I said it during fan fest, I said it during past live letters:
WHAT IS THIS EXPANSION?!?
Learn more here: na.finalfantasyxiv.com/dawntrail
Having defeated the despair of the Final Days, the Warrior of Light and their comrades had resumed walking their respective paths. Yet fate would see them reunited for a mission unto another reflection, and now an unexpected petition has arrived beckoning them west─to the faraway continent of Tural.
Answer the call, seek new horizons, and embark upon an adventure the likes of which you have never experienced! Dawntrail sees the stage of adventure shift to the western continent of Tural. In this land whence the legend of the golden city originates, the rite of succession will soon take place, and your involvement may well determine who next rules the diverse peoples of the nation of Tuliyollal...

The second head that's always covered is actually Asahi again.
YOUR FACE VEXES ME!
*covers his own face*
NNNoooo 😅
Oh god, this has given me a meme idea. That scooby doo unmasking meme, but its this guy and the unmask of the other head is Ashai.
If this happens I will uninstall the game and then uninstall my life.
Funnydaniel making a comeback lmao
The opening for Limsa Lominsa in 1.0 had a complex boat storm scene which highlighted the issues with the graphics that contributed to the downfall of FFXIV 1.0, so having a stormy boat scene at the beginning of the new saga as they implement the first graphics update is a strong message of their confidence.
It's like every animated movie that begins with a shot of a city reflected in a puddle, then somebody steps in it.
@@0Fyrebrand0 *Somebody once told me... ect*
During the opening of Endwalker I had massive 1.0 opening flashbacks. I was like I swear to Yoshi if i walk up these stairs and there is a storm again..
FF9 also had a boat and storm scene :3
@@Funguspower2 Coincidence!?
Fun fact: the voice at 3:15 in the trailer is Nigel Pilkington, appearing in his fifth expansion as yet another character - previously having voiced Papalymo, Tansui, Moren and Jullus (plus many others). What a lad.
I thought I recognized the voice already!
Thats awsome
PAPALYMO!? YES!!!
Honestly that theory that Solution 9 and it's people are descended from a society from the second umbral era is genius. I'm imagining all the other societies were destroyed by the lightning calamity but these people found a "solution" which allowed them to not only survive but harness the lightning leading to their technological prowess. It kinda fits perfectly.
Also paints a sad picture of how advanced the rest of the Source could be if they weren't calamity-reset every couple of thousand years. The Ascian's essentially tripping the people of the Source and never giving them a chance to prove them wrong.
I think they knew they could not survive their calamity, so they uploaded their minds to a supercomputer to live in unending peace.
The golden city segment looks allagan. looks a lot like azys lla
Also another clue is that the shards usually take inspiration from another ff game (The first= ff8, the void=ff4). We saw from the concept art that heritage found looked very similar to alexandria from ff9 as well as the name "solution 9" being zidanes limit break/trance ability.
@@shareyy8129The First is definitely way more influenced by the first FF game. There's a lot of creature design lifted directly from it, the Warrior of Light boss design, the names of races are the traditional names (like Elves and Dwarves) which the first game used, the way Dwarves look, a lot of the music is a callback.
The raids are FFVIII 100% so I guess you could say it's a mix
Calling it now, he'll take that cover off his head and it's just Zenos.
NO plz NO
A TEST OF YOUR REFLEXES
As ridiculous as that is, I hope 😂
Remember that Ascians didn't immediately know that rejoining the Shards was a *solution* to the Sundering. They tried many things before coming upon the idea.
Well obviously the 2nd calamity was a succes as we only know sofar thw first attempt got screwed up wich created the void.
Like you know.....nine things?
5:12 She is absolutely covered in infinity symbols. One on her back, one made out of her hair, one on her hip, and her ring. Her bodice is tied criss-crossed to make a sideways infinity symbol, and then the ends are tied in a bow making another infinity symbol.
My guess with Y’shtola is she is taking what she has learnt from reflection travel to work on being able to do so herself. So she shows up later because that portal leads to another reflection or a piece of one so she wants to learn and joins us about 2/3rd the way
That definitely could be, or else she learns something of reflection travel FROM this technology. Maybe a little of both.
yeah that's kind of my feel though a bit more mundane, in that it starts out with WoL, the Twins, etc. travelling out to help with what appears to be some sort of right of succession thing, then after we discover that portal/city we call in Y'shtola, Graha, Urianger, and possibly more because they are better equipped to research it
That, or she got hired by the person who was hiring Archons (because we're pretending it's not obvious which of the three not-Wuk-Lamat candidates would be familiar enough with Sharlayan to want to specifically hire Archons) and just didn't decide to accept until the last minute.
I think as many of us know by now there's always red herrings galore in these launch trailers. Tuck in for a fancy fish feast LOL
What is this expansion?
Dawntrail: "Yes."
Also Dawntrail: “THROWING FLASHBANG!”
My guess is the Dawn Servant/Autark is having a friendly duel with the "strongest champion of Eorzea" and the Warrior of Light decided to be humble and let Estinien bag the limelight for this one. Its actually shot for shot like the Dawntrail cinematic trailer with Estinien standing in for the WoL (much like G'raha stands in for the WoL in that one Endwalker cutscene).
Jesse, time to learn TH-cam Hotkeys so no more "try to time it perfectly"
Period and Comma (next to your "m" key) to move one frame at a time forward and back.
or just the arrow keys for minor jumping back and forth
@@MagdaRantanplan Arrow keys aren't precise enough, they're 5 second intervals, when 4-5 things flash on screen in 5 seconds arrow keys won't help. The period and comma on the other hand is useful for those very quick bursts of information, which is what JSharpie was referring to where he was rewinding it and then trying to pause it in a 0.2 second interval.
@@DreadKyller oh i know that, should have probably added the 5 sec intervals to be more precise in my description.
Anyone else think the Lalafells going into the portal are Krile’s parents?
If we're going with a full on ff9, that would make her a stand-in for Zidane. Which makes me wonder if the maiden is a stand in for Kuja. The final line in the trailer, which we can probably tribute to her, in Japanese is quite a bit more sinister. IIRC it is like "Now my plan will soon be fulfilled, now that I've the key" or something in that direction.
Definitely. We know Galuf went to Tural to investigate the golden city. They were probably with him and when they went missing Galuf adopted their daughter.
@@KisiroKitsune Either way, I love the shot as the other Galool Ja head(?) is like "They knew no conflict!" etc.
I actually thought that *was* Krile - haven't done the Eureka stuff yet, but outside of that, isn't it only known that Krile was just found randomly, and taken in by her 'grandfather' with no memory?
Am I the Only person that's noticed that the WoL with his back to the camera as it zooms in and then turns to look over his left shoulder, is the same move Azem did During our Echo of Elidibus's memory in 5.3, before it faded out just before the face could be seen?
That’s a good catch. I think Azem will be related to the story in one way or another, just based on the repeated usage of concepts like dawn, sun etc. throughout the whole thing. Azem’s constellation crystal is associated with sun, as well as Azeyma of the Twelve and Azim from the Xaela legends (and it’s been implied in game both of those things are directly tied to each other).
@@matoyashat Not to mention people are going nuts with the Enigmatic Maiden, her full character model has a garment piece on her hip that looks somewhat similar to the Convocation Member Pashtarot's emblem together with the way she speaks and talks to the WoL directly (as implied by the trailer) and YoshiP's comment about the names of the Convocation Members being relevant for the story of this expansion, the current theory is we are dealing with the current holder of Pashtarot's memories doing something in the New World.
I went back and rewatched that echo from 5.3. There's nothing to indicate it was Azem in that cutscene. Not the dialogue, nothing.
It looks more like Elidibus taking control of the first WoL of the shard, or at least, his body.
That said, I too would not be surprised if Azem comes up during the expansion (Like you said, the sun metaphors are there).
@@AyameAkito I saw that image and was squinting hard, and I just didn’t see it there. But I agree there definitely seems to be a connection. She’s either Pashtarot, Altima or in some other way related to Ascians/Ancients. I’m a little bummed she seems to be an antagonist based on the dialogue, but who knows, the devs really like their complex villains that tend to flip flop between sides.
@@AyameAkito I think she's referring to the summoning of Zodiark at the end of the trailer: "could YOU have done any better?" and a "where were YOU when the Convocation needed you?" type of deal
I'm not even huge on react content as a whole, but for XIV it's different. Some of the best memories are when seeing both people like Jesse that are already into the game or newcomers watch cutscenes, trailers and teasers only to get even more excited for what's to come and the devs have been perfecting that style over the years so now at every "wtf" or hype moment I always wonder what the reactions will be. Good stuff! Less than 2 weeks, people, letsgooooo
At 2:35 in the actual trailer Jesse, if you listen, there is the leitmotif from the Opera scene in FF6, Celes' singing part there!
i THOUGHT that sounded out of place, but familiar... there IS mention of a "triangle island" too... i swear, if i have to gather fish to save cid...
The Bufftuar should be called the Jacktus
With the amount of ff6 references, might that door lead to the sealed realm? "its people lived as gods" could refer to espers, which could make those artifacts magicite, and we meet more espers throughout? Valigarmanda is the first esper you meet in ff6 so maybe its the first trial?
I think you are right you see a bird in ice at one point , and i said thats tritoch ( his original snes name). At 3:21
This is my favorite content for 14. Jesse over analyzing trailers and explain his thoughts
And i love it
Jesse and Lil JC going on a second vacation. SO excited for this Adventure
13:19 I call him the Chadotender
I love it
Swoletender or Chadtuar for me
Jacked-tus?
@@0Fyrebrand0 Jacktuar
Machotender for me :)
Derplander's gotta derp. There's no stopping him.
this man's enthusiasm is contagious
I just started playing 14 this past Friday, and it’s my very first MMORPG. I couldn’t be more surprised at how understanding the community is and helpful to a new player like me. I come from a background of mostly online FPS games and some RPGs, so the toxicity is pretty prevalent. It’s a breath of fresh air to be so eagerly welcomed into this community, and it makes me excited for expansions like this and help other new players in the future
Welcome to Eorzea! If you're on the free trial, GOOD. Milk it as long as you can- in recent times, Stormblood was added to the free trial, which means you can do all content before Shadowbringers. That's MANY hours even if you only do MSQ. Enjoy~
I think 'dawntrail' isn't just about getting cat lady to be dawn servant. I think that portal leads to 'the dawn' as the people of the new world call it since the portal is all golden and glowy like the sun. So the 'dawn trail' is not only the path leading to this gate, but the path through the gate to where all the futuristic people and stuff is.
I think the 'Dawn Servant' isn't just leader, but keeper of that key and meant to make sure the 'dawngate' stays sealed. Naturally we don't know that, cat lady gets the key, we're on our adventure to find the golden city, and so we find the gate and unwittingly bring the key there and unlock the gate. We go through the gate, encounter the futuristic people, and that in turn makes them realize the gate is open, and they retaliate and turn hostile. Basically they're the Empire 2.0 and one thread that future expansions could be focused on combating.
Someone else said that the gate could lead to another reflection, snd I think that makes so much sense paired with this. Say, they figured out how to flee to a reflection during the second umbral calamity and took refuge there. That adds to the current story of characters figuring out reflection travel so that they may return to the first. That would also make sense as to why Thancred was so interested in it and is participating in the contest.
That would also explain the absence of characters like G'raha, they could return once they find out what the portal does.
as people are saying, I think the city of gold is really the first and only known true way to cross over to other reflections, maybe those strange high soldiers are people from a reflection maybe one of lightning
Y'shtola is probably in the life stream.... _again._
I feed of your enthusiasm, never change.
Jesse you do know you can advance a video by one frame with the < and > keys, you dont need to constantly pause and unpause to get that one frame you want.
FYI Jesse you can use the < and > keys to seek through TH-cam videos one frame at a time. This makes it very easy to pause and look at something specific.
Man, Jessie Cox let's plays were my childhood...That Dead Space let's play is always at the back of my mind. Now, as an adult, I have returned to him for the FFXIV content.
Color me surprised, you missed Celes' Theme/the Opera score that was weaved into the trailer! It starts at 4:48 here in your video. Terribly excited to see what it's used for!
Celes?! TRITOCH!?!? references to Relm!? imagine if we pierce the veil into the world of the espers!!! OMG. if Gau is the beastmaster npc i will shit a literal brick.
I love how this is the launch trailer. As in the stuff that isn't a spoiler compared to what we will get.
I'd like to imagine it like this: we see Shtola in Tuliyollal, chillin', ignoring the whole succession BS, just minding her own business looking up the NW's history. Then poof; she's nowhere to be seen...... until the final 3rd of the MSQ, where we find out she's been blindly chasing the legends & myths on her own, easily fending off several mighty beasts, solving most of the questions we've been gathering along the way, arriving at the gates of the city of gold WAAAYYY before us then spending days, possibly weeks trying to figure out how to open the darn thing till we show up with the key..... and she had loads of fun through it all.
21:34 I was excited to watch your reaction because I enjoy that breakdown of the history of the umbral and astral eras so it was the first thing I thought of when I heard about Solution Nine and saw that thunder dome.
He seems pretty excited!
that voice acting at 3:41… i’m actually so hype for this expansion. i wasn’t expecting much from dawntrail at first but god damn the preview to solution 9 in this trailer is so amazing
for the Y'shtola thing, last we checked she's writing what happened in the Endwalker patches down for the Fourum. So if anything she might show up towards the end of 7.0, she might show up at the very end late to the party and be involved in the patches, who knows?
But yeah by the time we get to Zone 6 I think G'raha and Y'shtola will be with us.
that last line is giving me Ancients vibes, like how in Shadowbringers, Emet posed the question of would the people of the source be willing to sacrifice half their population if the Final Days were to happen to them, in Endwalker though the WoL and the Scions helped prove that they didn't need to (yes the scions sacrificed themselves as they went through Ultima Thule, but they never actually died), if the mysterious lady is from the time of the 2nd calamity, it might be possible she has knowledge of the events of the Final Days, either given by stories passed down (kinda like the murals in Raktika), being told by an Ascian, or maybe she is a sundered Ascian that we've yet to meet.
Great breakdown! so excited for Dawntrail!
Welp, gold is, indeed, the best electrical conductor.
Given the amount of lightning-aspected aether on that place, I think we're already looking at the city of gold for a while now!
"Let's go!" - Yeah, the whole succession contest I find pretty uninteresting, but it's mere preamble to me. The stuff after that where we start seeing the invading army, City of Gold, and what looks like a portal of some kind - THAT'S the stuff I'm totally here for.
Of course u do, cuz edgy people like u only care about action action action, u know not everything is about action right
I agree on this take. The whole succession story is but a start of something more. I mean, I'm also interested as to why they need this so-called "Dawnservant" as a ruler and does it have any deeper meaning to it? And how it ties to the latter part of the trailer with Solution 9 or the City of Gold...Might be some kind of foreshadowing as well but who knows. We'll all know in 2 weeks :D ;)
Oh yeah, the dawn servant contest will just be filler really. The real meat is coming with that techno crap. I wonder if the upcoming expansions will give us MORE of these weird relics and in the finale expansion we use the entire collection to open some new kind of realm to fight the new ultimate villain similar in strength to the endsinger.
Graha what you doing waving!? Get on the boat!
Y'shtola has been in the CG trailer as on the island, so there's something going on with her that the devs are wanting to keep mega secret for some reason. My assumption is she's going to be on the Urianger/Thancred crew but has some other interest in mind. She also shows up in the montage at the end so she's part of the story somewhere.
edit: Oh and Y'shtola is there at the yellow gate with everyone
edit: There you go lol
Man, love ya dude, and I love your videos along with excitement for ff14! you're amping up the expansion anticipation!
I have been waiting for this since it was released
I loved the theory about the lightning calamity, but wasn't that the haze of the final days around the second lalafel that ran through the portal? Possibly a pre-sundering relic that insulated them from time?
I don't know if this helps too much, but you can use < and > to go frame by frame on a paused video. Nice if you want to catch some details!
Did some other ascian build an empire like emet selch did? could solution 9 be just like garlemald? were they shut away from the world and didn't get the memo that the ancients are gone? so many questions
They must have REALLY sealed themselves away, considering they never thought to come back out once the calamity of lightning ended. Plus, apparently the Allagans never found them either? Or couldn't figure out a way into the big lightning dome? And apparently no other ascians could get in, or else were cool with them being in there untouched?
I'm getting strong Ascian vibes. There's still 4 or 5 left?
You know I feel estinien is there because he's going to be one of the champions that we are competing against. Like in the earlier cinematic when he is killing the big monster that might be how he's proving himself and the fight in this video could be another trial.
I have a feeling that the two lala's we see in the trailer running to the doorway might be Krile's parents
i swear, if her mother's name is Relm...
Sadly Relm is an archon@@Blitzkrieger17
29:04 See all y'all were so excited to see Y'sthola show up in the Launch trailer we actually missed the most important bit. No it's not who looks like the Mi'qote brother in the front, BUT THERE'S A BABY MAMOOL JA NEXT TO ESTENIEN. AND IT LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE OPENING THE PORTAL?????? Either that or Estinien accidentally got himself into parenthood which... yeah I could see that.
From what I've gathered, one of the heads is usually the 'martial' one and the other is the 'magical' one. So as a mystical side they usually cover up veiled like.
Becoming Dawn Servant has been mostly explained as being a trial, something Wuk Lamat came over to get teammembers for. So it stands to reason that the trial has some different aspects to it; combat, wits, a treasure hunt even. And part of the test is likely also to see what kind of a leader you are and the kind of team you assemble.
The fight you spoke of that we 'walked in on' is likely one of the martial prowess tests and we may just be there as witness to the outcome of it.
I'm assuming each scion group is supporting a different contender for the dawn servant? Yoshi-P also said remember there are Ascians that we have still not encountered, I think it's Pashtarot - the Arbitor and Halmarut - the Sower. This sounds... a bit like Pashtarot?
Watching this makes me want to play 14 again but I got as far as stormblood and feel there’s so much to catch up on now! It looks so fun
Now, this song is getting my hype unlike other trailers and videos.
I like that dawntrail feels like a fresh start, it even has the warrior of light coming to a new land the same way they did in the start of realm reborn. I like how the boat scene is reminiscent of how my Wol first landed in Limsa at the start of their journey.
I cant believe they got the voice actor from Disco Elysium for Endwalker. Its the internal monologue voice from the start of the game!
Who and where? :o
I was waiting for this video since I saw the trailer, good stuff as always. :> I also have to get this comment down before DT actually releases because I'm convinced that there's going to be some Azem reference or long-lost influence on the story.
There's "Dawntrail" and I believe "Golden Legacy" in Japanese, the "Golden City", the "Dawn Servant" sitting on a throne made of gold, the mural you found depicting a sun over Tural and the key turning gold as it activates - along with others I'm forgetting. There's a LOT of gold/sun imagery showing up that fits perfectly with Azem.
There are too many ways in which they could use this to list really but I would find it fun if some of the city of gold lore ends up being a ball that started rolling back with the ancients. We know that Azem was aware of our existence back before the sundering so they could've set up something that would last until the present day, a message, etc.
(Also one day we will totally get an Azem fight. After the second to last Pandaemonium boss I realised that fighting Azem's transformation form would allow them to have the fun moment of fighting them without the baggage of making their 'human' form match the WoL's appearance - the transformation only needs to be some cool androgynous sun-themed state. It'd be even easier if we were to fight say, a magical projection of their transformation that was left guarding the knowledge at the golden city.)
It should be noted, there are always six areas in expansion, and we only know of 5 of them. The gold portal might take us to that secret sixth zone.
G'raha is also seen at 24:15 when the eden-like thing does its slice attack.
You can use period and comma to go back and forth one frame at a time.
as primary XI player, i strongly reccomend you give it a play as most of dawntrail is derived from XI, as usual, the pyramidic stuff is Rakaznar, the Mamool Ja race have a complex hierarchy and even the names used for the guys in charge are the same, the zones are extremely similar to that of Kazham and Yhutunga Jungle.
it will give you a good insight as to where thier stories are all derived from, even shadowbringers is basically Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia combined.
ive seen you do some lore dumps recently and i think XI will help you with understanding why XIV was even created and the fact that without XI, XIV would not exist.
enjoy!
I just got the pre-order so I can start early. NOW my excitement has kicked in! FFXIV is the only game I have ever pre ordered in my life.
Thank you Jesse. Your continued excitement for this game finally convinced me and I gave it a try about 3 weeks ago. I'm taking it slow, enjoying every last bit of it and am now nearing the end of ARR. You were right, this game is amazing and it's been since WoW's WotLK that I've had this much fun in an MMO. I'm a very happy sprout. =)
Dawntrail is so interesting because it such a mystery
Which is completely fitting, since we're visiting a place that hasn't been explored at all "in-game". We do have lore dumps and such, but they didn't take part in the Final Days arc. It's exciting
I do find it concerning we leave on a big ship, and arrive on a small ship lol.
I appreciate that your crew is Pictomancer, Warrior, Sage, Red Mage, which lines up perfectly for Trusts going forward without having to have filler characters like the start of ShB where sometimes you got Exarch or Lyna(i dont remember spelling), although on the other hand it was kind of cool to see the way some characters are multidimensional combat-role-wise. Maybe they will throw in more characters to use and keep that same 4 just for stability to lean on.
This may help you in the future Jesse, on youtube you can use , and . to go backwards and forwards frame by frame so you don't have to try and pause it perfectly
I am assuming that the initial group is just the twins and krile with Erinville and our hrothgarian compatriot and we run into an issue on the way and bump into the other scions who are there for other things. probably to explain why they are all backing different children of the king/lord in the rite of succession. they were contracted/petitioned by them on separate occasions. the same way we get petitioned by Erinville and his childhood friend.
one of the towns they showed off for DT is clearly just alexandria, cant wait for you to see it.
The tablets being held up around 17:30 are I think the same tablet we see in the benchmark being pointed at.
This is the Naadam all over again, I'm already the Khagan now I'm going to be the Dawn Serpent too.
The music/end vibe gives me extreme Xenoblade vibes and I couldn’t be more hype.
30:45 my sister and her friend have a theory that she's convocation member, or an ai of one, so maybe it's referring to zodiark's scarifices again?
I'm not sure Wuk Lamat will be the Dawn Servant by the end.
I hope the Catboy isn't evil😿
I feel a power of friendship where 3 or 4 of the contestants come together to face the bad.
I see, hear, think that's an Ascian bad.
That lala tear before the door closes 😭
What? Is? This? Expansion?
"Are you ready to answer the call?" I'm way too easy to get hyped up by lines like that lol.
I'm interested in why in both shots of the woman at 4:33 and 5:13 we never see the top of her head? I assume she might have, like, Viera ears or another feature that would be significant so they keep it out of frame?
Jesse, in case you didn't know, you can use the comma and period keys to navigate the video frame by frame for scenes like the one at 10:20, in case that helps for future videos like this. 🙂
~sees video pop up~
_"About damn time"_
(Yes its only been a day, but I am excited 😆)
Another thing I think they are testing the waters with is how we are going to react after 2 expansions with pretty much the full team almost the entire time if its ok to have some move into more support or side roles to have more space for new party members. Though I think one or both twins are with us forever as they are almost co main characters at this point.
Lets goooooo \o/ super hyped
my guess is that we call the remaining scions over when the shit starts hitting the fan mid expac
My guess on the blue Mamool Ja guy with the feathered headress is that he is the 'humanoid' form of Valigarmanda and works as a protector.
In the live letter they said Vali had another form and quickly moved away from the fight to not show it.
If the portal in (to?) solution 9 really is a portal to the 9th, Y'shtola would want to be there more than anything. Makes sense that's when she'd show up. A working example of physical travel between shards would bring her running from anywhere in the world.
I'm excited \o/
He seems really excited!
You think maybe that portal might be the solution to traveling between the shards that Ystola was looking for and that's why she wasn't really involved until this point? Maybe not ready to travel back to first but it's a massive discovery and hopefully the way to do it by the end of the expansion or part of one of the patches
If there's someone on the Source that can help Y'sthola figure out how to create stable portals to different shards then it's an advanced civilization that has access to a massive energy source (eternal lightning) like S9.
The armies and drones and ships coming out of the lightning stuff give me big DEEPGROUND vibes
Just remember, if you compare the EW launch trailer, after knowing what actually occurred, you'll see that there is much that can be concealed here. So, while interesting, I'm sure there are things we will not expect. Or I hope so! EDIT: The starship colors make me think of the Jem'Hadar from the Gamma quadrant.
The portal... Is solution 9 on the 9th reflection and we are just thinking that city is on top of that big tower becasue of midgar?
No comment on the lalafells running into the city of gold that looks like a flashback? Probably related to Krile and her grandpa Galuf.
Galuf is a hyur though. Adopted grandpa. He's in a flashback cutscene or two in Eureka.
@@SapphireDragon357 Did not know that but it kind of opens up a new possibility.
Adoption usually means dead/missing parents, does it not? :)
@@Cellsplitter True enough. :3
I have a feeling that we will get G'raha and Y'shotla called in when we discover these alagan tech/aether. Y'shotla being called by Team Thancred/urianger and we call in G'raha. the reasoning for this was during the LL Yoshi-p mentioned during introducing some of the main players in the expansion called Thancred and Urianger two of the adult memebers of the Scions, could have been a miss translation for mening elder members (elder in time with the scions)
I have been doing nothing but watching this trailer for the last week, and have a new theory. At first, I thought the guy at 5:15 was a flashback to young Galuf. But when it changes to Alphinaud, the guy is standing behind him, so it's current day. I think it is Ketenramm who hasn't aged due to finding something related to the golden city. He has a blue cloak and Ketenramm has the title "the blue". Because they both name-dropped him in 6.55 as well as specifically mentioned that if he were alive, he would be incredibly old, and it seems like a chekov's gun to me.
There is a very Lunatic Pandora-ness about the purple army coming out of the bubble

From the looks of it I feel like the portal we keep seeing is gonna be at the end of a dungeon, and maybe it leads us to solution 9 with us chasing after one of the claimants to the throne who got there first and is trying to take tuliyollal
"He seems really excited" *knowingly nods*
30:55 The way I interpret that final question is a lot like Ardbert's question "Could you save our worlds?" at the end of 5.0, it's an appeal to the strength of the WoL and the Scions for their help. This previous civilization had to sacrifice to achieve some impossible salvation. We've had our own sacrifices of course in own journey, but in the end we saved the world without losing our friends and that is why the final shot is of the WoL smiling... as if to say:
"Could you have held fast to that which is dear, without sacrifice?"
"Of course I could... I already have."
The only thing Jesse doesn't mention is how the tech is VERY similar to Mhach, and we do see some lalafells. Makes me wonder if these are Mhach refugees.
The only thing is that lalas were Nymians during that time. Yes I guess they could also be on team mhach but it’s story important they were nymian (see scholar quest line)
Same call as in January: the campaign for the new dawn serpent is actually a day to keep the big bad at bay and will require a sacrifice every x time = new leader is elected and thus the knowledge of it is passed on. However something will go wrong because the two final sides have 2 different ways to dealing with the situation in golden city. Tuliyolal vs Solution 9 people, cowboys vs indians. But in the end they will have to work together agaisnt the big bad.
Y'shtola is getting that QUALITY TIME with daddy Runar ;D
