GSX-S1000 - Installing new Slip-On (M4)

  • Today I installed a new M4 Slip-On to my Suzuki GSX-S1000 to replace the ugly Slip-On I had.
    There is some cuting and welding involved that is not part of the process but necessary in my case since I made modifications to my link pipe to accept the Slip-On I had before.
    Enjoy the video! You can find me on instagram @To_Mod_Or_Not_To_Mod.

    And what did you gain over stock........probably NOTHING without installing a full header. Waste of time and $$.....

      @@ToModorNottoMod I have the same bike (2018 model), and she sounds real nice with the stock exhaust. And obviously has PLENTY of power for any street rider. :)

      @@michaelbrill6609 Agreed.
      My channel is about not being able to contain the urge of tinkering with things. Life can't be all about sensible decisions.
      Sometime we care more about sound than performance.
      Also, I had a decat pipe with a fuel controller dialed to this bike.
      Also I did installed a full header. I am not rich so I build modify it slowly.
      How do you like your bike? I enjoy mine a lot. Thanks for the comment brother!

      @@ToModorNottoMod I really do like the bike, but when I hear you do "fly by's" with the full header, I'll admit it does sound awesome! What did you do about the exhaust servo and cables from the orignal exhaust when you made the change? It appears very difficult to get at as it's located pretty tight between the engine block and the rear shock.

      Thank you, yes I love the sound at WOT.
      I removed the caled along with the box. It was uncomfortable to remove but I was able to get it out from the left side of the bike. It did not seem possible bjt after a few minutes playing with it it came out. I removed the bracket holding the black box before removing the box with the cables.
      Let me know if you have questions.

    I got a 22 gsxs1000 which I’m going to decat with. Found a valve like thing on the end of the cat box. Do you have this on your bike as well? What is that used for ? Your bike looks sick man never seen any mods done on s1000 like yours. Good job

    • @ToModorNottoMod
      @ToModorNottoMod  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry I missed this message. Thanksnfor the comments. Yes sir those are the exhaust valves, they are controlled by tour ECU and they open and close throughout the revband.
      If you are decatting you need to make a decision to either keep it or remove it. If you choose to remove it you may want to remove the exhaust from the bike so you can remove the butterfly to ensure that if you remove the cables responsibles for opening and closing the butterfly the butterfly will stay in the open position.
      You can also remove the motor in the back of the bike responsible for controlling the valves.
      If you remove this system you are going to get a light on the dash. If you want to avoid that a reflash or a ECS controller from Healtech will take care of that.
      Let me know if you have questions.
      Be safe brother!

    Nice Work by the way
    The M4 us close but not what i want , the black stock is the nicest for this bike unless you can get the csr from Brasil (£700 🤦🏽‍♂️, no tuning just pipes) or the SC-Project 😅💷 💷 💷
    Love making generic unique ; keep customising friend 👍🏽👊🏽

      The SC project looks amazing, but it's expensive OMG. Yeah I like the low profile and color of the M4 but I also see it as a temporary change.
      Next is the header and will see if I keep the M4 for some time.
      Thanks for comment 😀

      Just watched the video. It's what I thought, the Black Widow. I am almost certainly that is what I am getting. I had it in the cart and decided to get the Slip-On first, but will get it soon. The bike sounds amazin with the header and the Alpha.
      I hate the fact that they don't make it with a 18mm bung for my Autotune, which means I have to drill and weld a brand new header. But for the money makes sense. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi buddy 👋,
    It sure sounds freaking awesome. Compared to your stock exhaust, does the M4 slip on sounds similar to the sound? I'm thinking of purchasing an M4 slip on on mine? I like how it looks on the motorcycle 🏍️.

    • @ToModorNottoMod
      @ToModorNottoMod  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ranger thanks sir. I don't think it sounds similar. I think it sounds much more agressive than stock. It's a bit loud but it comes with the baffle which helps a lot.
      Of course I have no cat so there is almost no restriction so if you have the cat it should sound a bit lower but still louder han stock. Much louder. 🙂

    same issue I had.....I'm running my setup without a slip on & just the pipe , at 1st it was too much but when Harley Davidsons , decatted Yamaha R1s or Decatted KTMs with stubbys come near me i can't hear my exhaust.
    You could buy a black stock exhaust & drill out the baffle?
    either way i removed nearly 10kg 💪🏽 lithium battery over acid 8s another 3.5kg saving

    • @ToModorNottoMod
      @ToModorNottoMod  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I am toying with the idea of buying a Lithium battery at some point, like an Anti Gravity, I could use the space I am saving also in favor of a cleaner install of all my electronics.
      Yeah, the stubby exhaust sounded cool and raw, but geez it was killing me haha.
