    You got a like from me the second you hit the part with the spray gun! I thought I was the only one who did stuff like that - ha ha! Great work and I really appreciate you taking the time to make the video.

    I can’t believe you didn’t wear gloves while you were spraying because you literally touched the product with your hands while you were spraying it

    Do you know if you can cerakote right over the factory finish? I don’t have the means to a sand blaster. I’ll have to scuff it

    Three people didn't like your video because they spent hundreds to have someone else do it 😂
    For real though, excellent job. I just emailed a company for an estimate on black and burnt bronze haha. Curious to what they'll say. I have a few questions though:
    Did you paint the area where the hook was because you didn't have coverage there?
    Did you layer it or should you layer it with two layers?
    How long did you wait before putting it into the oven?
    And did you use your personal oven? Haha

    • @TreasureGeo
      @TreasureGeo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hook was in the slot where the bolt release goes so you can't see it. As for coats I think I did 3 light coats one after another. The Cerakote comes with detailed instructions. Ive used the rifle many times after this and the finish is holding up perfectly.

      So, I've ordered two colors of cerakote. I'm still missing an air compressor 😣, air brush, sandblaster, media and probably that water separator. What kind of air pressure is required for this sort of thing? I have used air compressors but I've never actually owned one before so I don't know the details of what I'd need. I made a post in one of the Facebook groups and some people helped me find quiet compressors so I've narrowed it down but do I have to aim for a certain PSI or something? I do this sort of thing at work, sandblast, prime, paint, and clear coat things but I don't want to bring gun parts there and cerakote because I have a 30 minute drive home. So my plan is to do it outside on my patio and I live in a two bedroom apartment so yeah, it might be challenging haha. I am serious about this though and I want to try it. I'm basically using your method with a different video of a guy using an air brush. I don't mind spending a little money on it. The other guy linked his air brush for like $26 I think so that ain't bad. I just got my taxes and I want to have some fun!

      @@michaelenochs4033 You can rent air compressors! I rented a huge one that was on a trailer to do a car, once. Boy, was that messy! For the longest time, every time I turned on the heat, we would get sandblasted! I have used a very small pancake compressor to sandblast. You get a few seconds and you need to wait for the tank to refill, but it works.

    I do powder coating and you do not need to blast bare metal. Also instead of acetone you can de-gas it or pull everything out of the metal by baking it to 400 degrees.

      Yes. The cerakote is such a thin layer, there's no problem installing trigger parts or screwing on the buttstock, I use a little gun oil around those threads regardless. Hope this helps.

    @daniellaverty1359 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I hate to be critical, but you spent money on this, why not buy latex gloves? Touching it with your fingers anywhere causes contamination, not to mention you’re supposed to make one pass, 1/2 mil to 1 mil thick. It may look good but it most definitely will not wear good. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Impatient people get impatient results.
