Hyundai has a firmware update that addresses the sorta laggy low end. Also, as someone already stated, select "sport" mode and it scoots down the road quite briskly.
How do you find the power? My concern is the low hp and torque. I'm also considering the 2017 Escape 2.0T which is rated at 245hp and 275 ft lb, which I found a lot of fun to drive!
I really like your video, with the music and everything, you only need to improve your camera skills. I'd love to see another video comparing the Santa Fe Sport vs the Tucson. Are the seat comfortable, does it has adaptive cruise control, does the headlight turns?, what about memory seats. Beside the space and the power, there is not much difference. So for the money, is it worth to get the Santa Fe o the Tucson?
+t1l1l1n neither santa fe nor Tucson have the adaptive cruise "smart cruise" but the Tucson ultimate does have automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning, something not yet offered on the santa fe. we have tried to get the automatic emergency braking to work. and in all honesty we have chickened out before it has activated. no idea what it takes to get it to work, we delayed our brake till pretty late and it would not activate. The seats are comfortable and the rear seats do recline in both crossovers. the dynamic bending headlights are available on the Tucson ultimate but not on the santa fe yet. both have memory seats available. and I would buy the one that meets your space needs the most. if you have infants or very young children and are tall the Tucson is a tight fit with the infant seat. but of course this would really only be an issue for a couple years. We own a Santa fe and have three kids. We looked at the Tucson because we love the design but for now it's too small for our family. Maybe when our 11 month old is in a forward facing seat there will be some rebates and we might reconsider. I also sell Hyundais in the South Texas (corpus) area if you need any help or more info i'd be glad to help! 361-232-3717
The real advantage of an SUV over a wagon is better 'ground clearance' on snowy roads and limited off road ability. This is my main reason for considering one. The first SUV's to hit the market such as the Isuzu Trooper and Mitsubishi Montero were top heavy and prone to tip over but this does not seem to be an issue anymore especially with stability control technology. I agree, a 6 cylinder is a better choice over a turbo 4 and especially since Hyundai's 4's are not very fuel efficient anyway. Did you notice the exaggerated forward tilting headrest on the Tucson during your test drive? I could not get comfortable sitting in this vehicle because of it.
john h An "SUV" traditionally is a "Body-on-Truck Frame higher-trimmed vehicle. The ground clearance is due to the vehicle being a "truck". I used to have a 2002 Expedition which was basically a F-150 that seats 8. Crossovers are truck-like bodies atop car platforms which gives them car-like ride and handling. The problem is, that the more you load into their higher ceilings, the higher the center of gravity gets. Without a V6 or V8, you end up overloading crossovers quick. Wagons are truly the first "crossovers" but people hate the word "wagon" in America.
thanks for your review, I currently lease a 2014 Subaru xt, i'm very interested in the new Tucson because of the heated and cooled seats, but I am worried i'll miss my xt's power any thoughts?
decent review, why the subtle dislikes of 4cylinder? The market demanding better gas mileage is the only reason it doesn't have v6. They could easily give more grunt and gas mileage by offering a diesel model. Would it sell ? based on other diesel sales probably not. Also some car manufacturers think they know best. Magnums should have never stopped being made.
Wagons are superior in all but cargo area height, and in Europe they are quite sporty. They are not like the old wagons of the 70's. It's a shame the buying public insist on mediocre handling vehicles instead.
Nice vehicle, too bad they do not offer their 2L turbo in it. Really like the exterior look, nice design but fully agree, needs a good deal more grunt.
They dont. At least in the United States. On hyundai.com. You can only get white exterior with beige interior. No black interior available with white exterior. I live in wisconsin. Where do you live? I had to buy a black exterior with black interior limited instead.
+Paultwice22 it's slightly underpowered. I wouldn't haul anything with it. the engine is the same as the veloster's which is a comfortable amount of power for the smaller velo but feels sluggish in this Tucson. you should really drive it to decide for yourself. of course i'm biased as I have a 2.7 v6 supercharged Hyundai tiburon and a 2.0 turbo charged Hyundai santa fe. 361-232-3717 if you need any help with Hyundais' in the south texas region(corpus)
I would not want a V6, Turbo 4 if it puts out at least 250 hp and only used for hills and passing. My Mazdaspeed3 turbo 4 has 263 hp (smaller car) but more power than I ever need! No reason they cannot put in a 2.4+ turbo with 250+ hp!
Dont dis on the vehicle just because your 6'6 while most vehicles dont suit you, maybe hyundai should of found a more ideal reviewer. Get your cheap ass to the gas station and fill up that empty tank, lol

Bought my Tucson 1.6t awd a month ago and I'm loving it! Very Fun to drive. 😀

It is so much better than the previous generation

glad you agree!
Great review. I've been looking at this for some time.
I love my Tucson sport just got it few days ago.
Kar Aguilar
just bought a Caribbean blue one. love it.
Good review, cool motor. I'm watching from Cumbria in the.UK.
great review. Thanks. I am honda fan for a long time because of its reliability. How reliable this car for 5-7 years’ time frame?

All these crossovers are about the same. Only difference is features, warranties, engine power, etc.

Bwahhahahahaha
With a DCT 7 Speed ? Anyone have any problems with theirs.. other then that she moves
the diesel 2.0 crd with 184 bhp is the one to buy

felt like i was playing skyrim with the music.
Should have put into Sport mode...then it hauls ass.....great car people....and Hyundai is giving them away....
Отлично! Полезное видео. Рекомендую посмотреть всем.

Get a V6 Jeep Cherokee instead.
I would hang onto your forester. Those are pretty nice cuv's.
If it's comfort/convenience features you want, Hyundai Tuscon and Jeep Cherokee are good cars.

I disagree. Ford has a 2.0L turbo that gets good mpg and has 245hp and torque of 275 ft lb
Hold that camera steady, man!
maybe a stupid question, can i use regular 87 gas for this turbo engine??? or it has to be 91 premium???
jy02250883 yes 87 works fine

You should try out the 2017 Kia Sportage SX 2.0T AWD
Nice vehicle, too bad they do not offer their 2L turbo in it. Really like the exterior look, nice design but fully agree, needs a good deal more grunt.
+Troy Power Agreed. A 2.0L turbo will give just enough low end grunt to justify not having a V6 option.
Does the 1.6 require premium fuel?
+nyak63RUS no
Not at all. It takes regular gas
Dodge really should bring back the magnum and put a hellcat motor in it.
AKTTOBOS I've been saying that.
AKTTOBOS Dodge is garbage.
+AKTTOBOS The Magnum was discontinued due2 slumping sales #'s; nothing 2do with engines & that wouldn't be the "fix." It will not be back.
Nice Car. If only they have white exterior with black interior leather..
They do have.

+tigerbalm I'm with you there, but the speed3 is loud as hell.
Don't be silly, Speed3 is very quiet with a slight drone sound...
Fuel is too expensive in the UK to run a v6
The MSRP that you are showing us is just a dealer's price wish list. Anyone who pays the MSRP is being suckered.
This top down camera angle really makes a very unpleasant viewing experience, I gave up before it hit 4min mark...
$35K! Yikes....no thanks!
And its a beginner suv like a outlander or hrv lol
Litre not Liter.
Philip Wookey MURICA not europe

1.6T is ok but still slow.
Its a family car not for racing!
Wicped. It Seems2 rightful grandfather % !!
