  • Products I use for grading cards that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
    Centering Tool: amzn.to/3QemU6W
    Microfiber Cloth: amzn.to/3w0EODb
    Soft sleeves (I recommend using a fresh new soft sleeve for each card you submit): amzn.to/3U8kUxX
    Semi-Rigid Sleeves (PSA recommends using these): amzn.to/3Q9y6Bp

    This is an exceptional video, the problem is, most people are going to not take heed to your advice, because today, people are impatient and want everything in life "microwaved" for them. Most are going to do a quick glance at the card, check the price, make a bid, win the bid, get the card graded and wonder why they are getting mostly PSA 8's or 9's or SGC 8's or 9's, instead of PSA/SGC 10's.
    The problem I had with eBay was being too excited and rush, because not only was I interested in the card I was currently inspecting, but in the back of my mind I was wanting to rush, because I felt as if i was missing out on other hits and deals. I grew out of that with age. I guess the gist of my post is: To be successful in this hobby, especially trying to find gems for your personal collection, you must be thorough, precise, analytical and patient.
    Outstanding video, brother.

      Great comment. I always tell people that it’s better to take plenty of time in the beginning to learn the skills. Way better to start small with a few cards and learn that way instead of rushing into it with huge amounts of money.

    I have received flawlessly mint cards that were listed as EX and VG. Not sure why but a lot of sellers choose the lesser description.

    • @synergycards
      @synergycards  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Yeah I’ve seen that quite a bit. Some sellers probably just don’t inspect their cards very well and choose lower conditions to protect themselves from returns

      I’ve been having the opposite problem. Buying cards listed as “Mint” with very clear damage that should make it excellent to near mint at best. Frustrating since I am personally mindful when listing cards for purchase.

    Thanks for the video! I found your channel last week. I have sent in 4 bulk submissions in the last few weeks. One is already done (9 days!!!!!) and I am up to a 58% gem rate. It was not bad when 5 cards were previously slabbed an 8 and I cracked them. the best cards got a 10, and there were only 3 surprises (2 10s 1 8).
    I am aiming to submit 40 cards per month and hit a 65% gem rate. I am also starting to consign some cards alongside having them listed on my eBay to help keep cash flowing

    Love your content, man! Been watching the last couple of weeks. In the process of sending a bulk submission to PSA (my second one so far). I really enjoy the vetting process through eBay. Two questions, I noticed you send the rejects to a co-signer wondering which co-signer you prefer? Also when you “hit” the Gems are you selling yourself through eBay or sending those to a co-signer as well? Thanks in advance. Keep up the content. Look forward to all your videos! Thanks

      Great questions! I consign with Probstein123. I made a video about that you can find on my channel. I prefer to sell all slabs (especially psa 10’s) by myself on eBay or fb/insta, but I will send some of them to Probstein if I have a bunch of duplicates or dead inventory that I need to liquidate. Hopefully that answers your questions!

      That’s a great question. If you’re planning to get cards graded I would recommend buying ~20 cards in the ~$15 dollar range and get them graded at the cheapest level. This way you’re not putting your money into one or two big cards hoping they grade well. But definitely research and make sure the cards you buy will sell for much more as psa 10’s

    I collected as kid in 80's. Lived and breathed this stuff back then. Could this process work on baseball/football cards from 70s and some rookie, HOF players from 80's - or will there just be too limited of supply from that time period to make your system work? Trying to decide if I can stick with what I know or do I have to learn which cards to collect with modern cards. thanks

    hello. i am new to this and i'm wondering if i should focus on 1 or 2 players and maybe just 1 sport? i would also like to ask if there is a minimum bankroll you would recommend and how many cards should i buy a week to send out to get graded?

    • @synergycards
      @synergycards  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great questions. I think to start out it’s a great idea to focus in on 1 sport and a couple players. If you want to focus on rookies/prospects, keep in mind that you’ll want to generally flip them right before their season starts. I’ve gotten burned on a lot of basketball rookies that I held onto for too long. I think PSA has a minimum of 20 cards per submission to get their lowest price, so I would recommend starting with an order about that size and slowly work your way up to getting ~20 cards per week to get graded. But don’t get too focused on quality that you end up buying cards that aren’t very profitable even as psa 10’s

  • @Dman613
    @Dman613 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    What do you look for as far as profit margin? Do you look to double
    Your money after taking into account the grading fees etc?

    • @synergycards
      @synergycards  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great question. Everyone does it differently but personally I shoot for an average of $20 profit per card. That accounts for all the lower grade cards as well. I’ve found that to be pretty attainable

  • @hocke68

    • @synergycards
      @synergycards  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All depends on the grader. I’ve gotten 10’s with minor print lines a lot. I’ve only gotten one 10 ever with a major print line. So I don’t submit cards with super noticeable print lines anymore

      I can provide my point of view on this topic. I have been selling sports cards on eBay since 11/30/2023. I grade cards with PSA and screen every card before listing them. The near mint/mint disclosure on eBay is pretty much a PSA 8, so most modern raw cards fall into this category. Yes, some cards that have minor chipping or slight corner dings aren't going to be sent for grading, BUT I have sold some cards raw just because 1. I don't grade 99% of base cards anymore. 2. Timing-most inserts of new products sell for crazy money week 1, then it's a race to bottom 3. I can't grade everything
      I sell probably 60/40 graded to raw on eBay, and so far, so good. Got the top seller ratting, so I just be doing something right, lol.
      Great video and content. 👏

    why don’t you just return cards that come in with defects? especially if the seller described as near mint or better. For me i have 0 trouble returning cards with ebay’s money back guarantee because technically if they said it was nm or better and it has defects then you are eligible cuz it was not as described.

    • @synergycards
      @synergycards  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If there are major defects I will return them. But near mint technically means PSA 7. So if there are minor issues then I’ll just resell the card raw and lose a few dollars but that’s okay with me

    • @lavarball719
      @lavarball719 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@synergycards yea that is true but grading is subjective so you can really argue that it would get a 7 even with just one scratch, almost every time ebay sides with the buyer too just due to their policy

    • @Chip-dg7wy
      @Chip-dg7wy หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lavarball719are you expecting sellers to only list raw cards as near mint if they’ve inspected them with a loupe and consider them gem worthy? That’s pretty crazy. If you’re not expecting that but just taking advantage of eBay policy to put all your losses on other people, that makes you effectively a scammer and the worst part of eBay, congratulations.
