    Ingredients:
    500 g rolled oats
    150-200 g soft dates (e.g. medjool)
100-200 g nuts of your choice (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts)
    2-3 tbsp. flax seeds
Spices: turmeric, vanilla or cocoa powder
    A pinch of salt
    Instructions:
    1. Add the dates to your blender and slightly cover them with water.
    2. Add the spices of your choice and a pinch of salt.
    3. If you cannot find soft dates, soak them in water overnight or in warm water for 1 hour.
    4. Blend everything until you get a nice thick sauce.
    5. In a big bowl, combine the oats and chopped nuts.
    6. You can also add raisins or cocoa nibs if you like.
    7. Pour the date sauce into the bowl and massage the granola with your hands.
    8. Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes.
    9. Spread the mixture on a dehydrator tray and dehydrate at 42 °C/ 107 °F for approx. 7-9 hours, until crispy.
    10. Keep the granola in a closed container after cooling down in order to keep it crispy.

Thank you for sharing. I would make triple the recipe as it would not last long in the jar uneaten.

Thank you for the recipe :) what is the shelf life of raw granola?

Thanks for your comment Mary. If it's dehydrated well and kept in an airtight container, it should last several weeks (Usually it's finished before that😁😋)

rolled oats are technically not a raw food and flax seeds should be ground into flax meal otherwise the seeds will just go right through you.

I buy the oat flakes version at whole foods in a bag One Degree Organic Foods) that are raw, organic, glyphosate free, and sprouted. I consume them raw, made into muesli.

@@rachelgoodkind6545 This is a great tip, thank you. There's been some, shall we say oats push back buzz as of late. I'm not sure of the science as mostly what's cited is "they feed oats to horses". Along with the oats for humans industry has a active PR machine.
I need to research it more but for now thanks for alternative.

How many servings does this make ?

Thanks for watching Kaitlyn. Depending on your serving size, I'd say this makes about 3-5 servings each

@@Veecoco that would make 1 serving anywhere from 1170 - 702 calories with only 20 grams of protein & 29 grams of fat .

@@kaitlynmyran5266 Oh yes I meant 3-5 servings each, so in total that would be about 6 - 10 servings (because Diana uses half of the ingredients to make the chocolate version and half to make the classic version).
You are totally right, Granola - even the vegan one and raw - is always pretty high in calories and very dense, because of the nuts, seeds and grains used. So I would mainly use it as a topping, addition to your regular breakfast oatmeal or an occasional treat.
