this actually worked and im kinda satisfied, gotta try it with new strings, Thanks!
Glad it helped!
no High/low cut? I generally go 6500-6800 on the high and 50-80 on the low. Prevents frequency overlap. God bless leon todd. Solid Vid!
I’ve started doing these cuts since I came across a preset in nameless x. Sounds much better and I prefer darker tones to start with so I can add airy frequencies in later with EQ if needed
I try not to use additive EQ too much
Depends on the Preset, amp, cab, etc
Thanks for the video man! Going to try to get some 7 string Mike stringer spiritbox goodness! Do you think I can get those tones with this plug in?
Oh, definitely. This is like the best rhythm tone plugin ever.
Stringer has his own plugin on Mixwave. It's ok.
Just used the Gojira X plugin on this cover of Killswitch Engage's version of Holy Diver. Used a couple different JD presets. Its insane. Check it out in the link.

do you compress your guitars?
Usually a little, but it depends on the song
@@Sinisterbvnny I ask because it seems as if i have used every method possible and i cannot get my guitars to be forward in the mix. they are either too loud and drowning everything else out or too quiet and being drowned out themselves. i use the add and subtract method to open up headroom and pro q 3 for dynamic eq but was always told heavier guitars should never be compressed. not sure what to do
- double track (at the least)
- Hard Pan left and right
- high pass 100hz or so
- mess with Presence knob
- try M/S EQ
- cut boxy frequencies like 200hz and 500hz
Those are just a few quick ideas to try without going in depth! 🤘
This isn't a knock against you, but I hate the modern metal tone. How people need a tube screamer on a 5150 is beyond me. And this is coming from someone that owns a physical one.
I mean, it's just a tone that works. Yeah, It's overused, but it's hard to beat. The notion of having your "own tone" is tough because it usually sounds like garbage. 🤣
