- Trying out the new Gojira plugin from Neural dsp. Also using the Joe Duplantier signature Charvel guitar for this demo.

just bought the archetype nolly and fiddled for hours for a gojira preset, and now they bring this... oh well. can't have enough plugins.
But also, Nolly's is a fantastic plugin as well. Has ended up in a lot of my productions

On the bright side you could have played the preset and thought “this is sick, they should make a whole plugin off Gojira”
@@DominicAirola I wouldve never thought that Joe actually endorses a digital plugin, as they're always seen with the EVH amps and his video with his new signature 3 years ago was with EVH too.
But I am really glad they did! Just tested the plugin and I really love the clean version too and most of the presets sound really good as factory presets.
You can have enough plugins; you cannot have too many.
Are you fucking kidding me? I just bought Nolly and kept saying to myself, "I hope the next plugin isn't like Gojira or something..."
I'm getting Nolly next. 4 amps and cabs is too good not to miss

@@Francisco17Berrios Unfortunately I tried this a while back, I bought abasi but regretted it instantly as soon as I tried the nolly ( which was more expensive ) I emailed Neural and asked if I could swap and pay the difference or something but was hit with a hard "NO"......I guess that is why they issue 14 day trials....
Gojira tones and their style is so unique and instantly recognizable. They are up there with Pantera, Meshuggah, and Slayer for me. Also that guitar is sick, although i prefer the white one
the white one is also cheaper i think, and the picks ups are different right ?

Couldn't agree more! Been listening to metal for ages but that's why I love Gojira, you can hear one riff and instantly feel it's them. Also managed to saw them live literally 300m from my house in 2019 and they sounded exactly like on the records but, obviously, with a ton more punch! One of the best gigs I've seen, can't wait to see them again :)
That tone in the intro is 100% spot on, seriously impressed.

I got this plug-in last week and I am absolutely in love. The tone is so realistic too and kicks ass with that high gain amplifier. The clean in itself is also absolutely beautiful
This is definitely one of the most “real” sounding plugins in my opinion. Usually not a big fan, but this one’s got a lot of fine sonic detail.
It's sound real because Joe Duplantier was working with them. You won't get anything closer to that Gojira sound.

What I love about Ola is that there is no bs in the videos.. straight to the dirty tones!!! 🤘🎸
It definitely chugs!! 🤘🏻 really cool how much versatility was built into this plugin, rock on 🎸
That shimmer effect on the clean is pretty damned beautiful.
This is one of the first plugins that I’ve liked just about everything about. Sounds rad.
That shimmer going on with the Reverb pedal is a fucking game changer.
The shimmer on my Boss RV-6 sounds identical. If you're looking for that shimmer sound I recommend the RV-6. I find myself fucking around and getting lost with it sometimes still 😂😂
Also try the ValhallaDSP Shimmer reverb - that’s my go to.

This one seems to have the most useful effects in it. Most well round offering I've seen from them yet.
That octave low is BRUTAL

As someone that has a lot of guitar plugins this is literally the best one to ever come out in my opinion. You can get any sound from djent to black metal to deathcore to pop punk. It's amazing.
Joe’s import guitars(this one and the white one) are some of the best bang for your buck guitars out there. Also the fortitude bridge pickup is one of my favorites. This plugin sounds great.

Thank you Ola! You brought a lot of hints and clarified many things which was really hard to figure out by myself. I’m not metalhead,rather hc/punk but this band is something. Their gig on polandrock fest was sick, I’ve seen only video butthat was awsome. The idea of archetyphing by Neural is great, they pick all of the artists I respect by some reason/collaboration.
Absolutely fucking love the hell out of this! This is a full rig for a price of one guitar pedal, and you get so much in this! I WANT IT!

I felt you tap into your inner Devin Townsend with the clean channel with heavy reverb and delay.

Charvel used to have some awesome natural finish pro-mods, but they were discontinued. Wish I'd bought one. Pretty much my ideal guitar.
Wow the chorus pedal and the shimmer on the reverb pedal are both amazing. It makes it sound like there's a synth playing in the background.
Sounds exactly what I wanted to hear.
Downloaded the trial & although the overall amp tones are covered in other plugins I have there’s something really special going on with the FX in this one.
Try the “deep waters” preset & tell me that rusty breakup with deep/high octave doesn’t inspire something awesome.
The reverb & delay on this one is also excellent, with the shimmer being subtle & controlled via the high/low pass filters.
Wish the Phaser had a mix/volume...
Going to run some fuzz pedals into this plugin it might be my new fav doom/sludge plugin if I can get some warmer fuzz tones going.
Instant purchase for sure just for the FX & tones.

Edit: That chorus/ clean tone..is so so beautiful. I don't have any Neural DSP Plugins, but every single one they put out all look AMAZING. It's gonna be so hard to chose which I'd like my first to be with them all being so fantastic
There's a lot of metal that I feel is a bit embarrassing even if you don't take yourself too seriously but Gojira has always felt like some sort of "grown-up" metal. One of my favorites and one of the most recognisable bands out there.
Totally agree. A lot of metal can come off kind of cheesy and juvenile but Gojira consistently put out thoughtful, meaningful music.
Who is gonna make you happy, if you don't? Is it more "grown up" to just be yourself, or to worry about if you've grown into someone others are happy with?
My stepdaughters father once told me he used to like heavy metal but, he decided it was "time to grow up". Now he listens to country music. Only in the background, because he doesn't really enjoy it. I told him that I've loved the heavier music since I was a kid. I know who I am and I don't care if people don't approve of my choices in music. I also told him relationships built on what you think others want you to be, aren't lasting relationships.
Be yourself. If others choose to judge who you are, based on what music you like, f@ck em. Explain, (if you must) that you don't fake who you are. You're "grown up" enough to be real.
All that said, I do still understand where you are coming from. Just hope this puts a little wind in your sails.
@@markbrown7968 This is exactly what happened to my brother in law. Loved metal when he was younger, I'm talking extreme death/grindcore...then he decided to "grow up" and get married, have kids, now he listens to country because that's what his wife likes lol.
I mean, we all mature and change and that's cool. But he fully admits to me that he pretends to enjoy it to "keep the peace" with his wife and their friends. Pretending to be someone you're not is really immature IMO. He still has some of his old CD's in his work truck and secretly cranks it when he's driving by himself haha 🤘
Now that I'm an old bastard I listen to a lot of different styles of music (country is not one of them, unless you count Johnny Cash) but I feel like abandoning something that was such a massive part of my life growing up is a mistake. If you "grow out of it" hey, no problem. But make sure it's a decision you're making for yourself and not because someone wants you to live up to their expectations.
@@sahamal_savu Both stories about conforming due to some form of peer pressure and cultural expectations are sad. To people trying to be part of a group or make friends... don't do that - enjoy what makes you happy and stay true to yourselves. The "grown-up" I was referring to was more along the lines of "not unintentionally campy" ( not a native english speaker, may be my bad ). Thanks for the stories and stay safe out there.

@@dejja7376 I'm on something known as reality and common sense. Fender should either make new tele or strat models with the specs of these Charvels, or they should keep using the original Charvel designs for the bodies and headstocks. There's no point in using the Charvel name if they're just making super nice versions of Fender guitars.

From the moment you switch to the clean sounds and forward, your playing sounds so much like Devin Townsend for the rest of the video. Love it!🤘🏻 Great and thorough demo video.
Don't forget they started by using Valvestate Marshalls before doing some Dual Recto then Peaveys. Ho boy this band has come such a long way from the local parties in the Basque Country.

Owning the Plini plugin has made me practice way more than I used to and I'm writing my own stuff too, having something that sounds great helps you overcome the suck lol
Been playing for 23 yrs ... still trying to figure it out. Take lessons to atleast learn the basics and proper practice techniques man I did not

Expression pedals, those that look like a wah pedal are used for these things.

Holy crap....YOU KILLED IT on that track Ola... awesome job.
The amps sound really good. And the effects modeling sounds pretty great too. Seems like the pitch effects could use a little work though, especially with polyphonic shifting around 11:50.
