My family had one of these, an ex taxi, when I was about 12. I always wondered if I could have done something cool with it given the chance. Thanks to this video now I know. Keep em coming.
True duel exhaust is from both sides of the manifold down to the pipes not a single one J'S because mine has headers and that's the way to do it not a single pipe but two pipes to the one catalytic converter
True duals = 1 pipe coming off each header that at no point connect to one another, straight pipe = a piece of exhaust pipe with no cat, muffler, or resonators, pipe only
It wasn’t nothing like picking up something nice to chill with back in the day in these. It was a privilege for a young lady to get in the box. Pretty azz sitting on Crush Velour
Not true dual True duels is when they exhaust comes out of the exhaust manifold or header in two pipes and those pipes never connect for the front of the vehicle to the back of the vehicle
G'Day, due to the fact I can no longer find a Y-Pipe for my 86 Caprice, can I do a dual exhaust with mufflers? Or can the Y-Pipe be custom built? Thanks
@Dennis Burger Combustion chamber size due to the smaller bore is the difference in regards to the heads. You failed to mention crank stroke as a difference also.
@Dennis Burger You are correct. After thinking about it for a minute it all came back to me. It has been sometime since I have had a 305 in the shop. The smallest engines we deal with are 350’s. Bore size is the only difference along with smaller combustion chambers & smaller intake/exhaust runners.
That is how they should sound like from the factory to be honest
My blue one did
I had one of these 15 years ago. Bought it for $200 for a demo derby.
I'd take this car over any of this new bs
Got that 305 soundin good too. 🔥
Damn that sounds good. Gives my 91 305 camaro hope‼️
Let's go CHAMP
I’ve been waiting on straight pipes 305 video for so long

I wouldn't have done quad tips but sounds nice.
I honestly would do the corvette style exhaust on a Caprice
True duel exhaust is from both sides of the manifold down to the pipes not a single one J'S because mine has headers and that's the way to do it not a single pipe but two pipes to the one catalytic converter
That sounds so badass. Old school muscle
@Self Made Auto you’re the kind of person who likes to take the fun out of everything
@Self Made Auto No muscle is there at all!
These 305 Chevies sound really good
True duals = 1 pipe coming off each header that at no point connect to one another, straight pipe = a piece of exhaust pipe with no cat, muffler, or resonators, pipe only
I think a 3 inch system could've sound more monsterous but that still sounds awesome 👍
I would've rather had one of these instead on my Grand Marquis, but meh, the prices for nice ones are insanity
I got a nice 77 4door for you. Located in SC
@@Kboss912 how much?
That was pretty sweet!
My next car.
Literally the sound of my dreams
It wasn’t nothing like picking up something nice to chill with back in the day in these. It was a privilege for a young lady to get in the box. Pretty azz sitting on Crush Velour
Now that’s what I’m talking about! Classic Chevy BEAST MODE!! 🥳👍🏾🥰🇺🇸🤟🏾🤴🏾😆
Them 165 horses sound pretty good.
Ong😂😂😂
If that
Beautiful 🎉🎉🎉 I got an 86
sound absolutely amazing.
That 305 takes off a lot fast than mine. My 83 dogs it. Any suggestions?
Sounds great; time for an engine rebuild
More like a carb and intake upgrade
Time for more cubic inches or a ls swap.
Time for a engine replacement! At least a 383 with a full roller valve train.
Just drop a lt1 350 in it from a 9c1 caprice
Just put a 350 and headers in my 86 caprice but can’t find ANY double hump crossmembers for the tranny to make the headers fit.. any recommendations??
How much for a set up like that. I need that.
Call us at 615-612-6244
That sounds nice for an old classic wow
Should have been a different set up
Beautiful job, great sound and great work by the shop. But that’s not true duals. I’d call it duals post manifold merge pipe.
Nice. My 48 chevy would probably do well with a 302.
You guys do great work thanks for the videos where are you located

@@exhaustaddicts I am in New York on Long Island I have a 2021 Wide body scat pac challenger not loud enough for me
Not true dual
True duels is when they exhaust comes out of the exhaust manifold or header in two pipes and those pipes never connect for the front of the vehicle to the back of the vehicle
I have headers and dual exhaust with Flowtech Raptor mufflers on mine, great sound
How much this kind of work cost I have a 86 caprice to 🙏
Lmaoooo the fuel economy gauge.
Going in tomm I'm not decided on straight or dual .I got 85 Caprice classic 305
That’s not true dual true dual would b pipe from arachera header straight back
Man I miss my 84 two tone smh 🤦🏿♂️
Why not just dual it coming out both manifolds
love it 😀
Man I gotta come in soon to get some Delta 40s put on my Elco
Quiet but lil going 4
Sounds good Beast mode 💪😎🤜🤛🇺🇸
Sounds Amazing
sounds good, but i think these only had like 165hp 😏
@Envy J No way maybe 240 lbft.
177 @5500 rpm 220 torque
Great sound
Having them run into a single cat defeats the purpose of having true duals it would just act like a dual in dual out muffler or x pipe
And it's not straight pipe at that point either, the title is completely incorrect lol
Nice to see some whitewalls on it rather than some big dumb rims..
G'Day, due to the fact I can no longer find a Y-Pipe for my 86 Caprice, can I do a dual exhaust with mufflers? Or can the Y-Pipe be custom built? Thanks
We custom build them all the time

Sounds mean asf
How's it a true dual when there's a Y-pipe?
Wish ya would rev it up all the way
That fuel economy gauge tho
That was funny azz hell.
Is a hidden tachometer
Oh yeah!
What's an estimate prices for this?
That thing deserves side exhaust right behind the rear wheel.
No
Only if it was the wagon
Couldn’t let it idle for 2 seconds 🙄🙄. Instead let’s just rev the piss out of it🤦🏻♂️
It has some get up to it
1:44 top of screen. Is that one dude a giant or is everyone else midgets?
Lmfao 🤣 I noticed that shit too .. I thought I was just high lol
Looks like a y pipe to me
This video is fucking hilarious big ups
Did check engine light came on after the exhaust was finished or before
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That mf sound so good no exaggeration this probably the best sounding box I seen
Ummm that isn't true duals nor is it straight pipe just putting that out there
Box Chevy!!

After I sold my 87 coupe, all I see is caprice related stuff :(
A man’s car
Too bad they couldn’t have done a cat delete with two glasspacks all the way back.
I don’t like 305s. Say whatever you want, they don’t last near as good as the 350 sbc.
At the very least go with a 350!
@Dennis Burger Different bore, different stroke & because of the increase bore size of the 350 it uses different heads.
@Dennis Burger Combustion chamber size due to the smaller bore is the difference in regards to the heads. You failed to mention crank stroke as a difference also.

Man that sounds like music
Thank you!
Shit y'all keep doin those ill have to bring my 91 over out of jealousy
Now they'll drive that thing around like it has 500 hp even tho it's about 170
Sounds good tho

Keep ya lil trendy scat packs …. That box gon get the sugar mama you need🤣🤣🤣
That is too funny 😂
Burning some oil though.
anybody help me out Does no muffler an no resonator effect Performance ? Low end torque back pressure ? Can anybody confirm that's all bs ?
Back pressure is bad no matter what vehicle you have.
Where can I find the catalytic
Burns more oil than gasoline.
That's not true duals
That ain't it ....
Sounds horrible. It needs a set of Flowmaster 40 series on it.
To spend that kind of money on a pos boggles.my mind??? Sounds good nonetheless
Might do this for my 93' caprice classic
