Had one for almost 3 years now and it doesn’t give me and problem. The sideplate goes back on easily where I have my spool tension at which is to eliminate the side to side play in the spool. Also never had a problem with whatever oil and grease I’ve put on it. If it keeps clicking I’d take it apart again and see if everything is in its proper place. I went and bought 2 more since they were on sale and no problem with any of them

I feel you on this reel. Have caught 2 3.5 lb bass and many others in about a month use. Now it makes like a grinding noise when reeling. Have caught a 4.5 lb bass and about a 15 lb carp that bit a lure on a black max. Black max is butter smooth better than the revo think may cast further as well. Slx is smoother cast further but like brakes on outside better. Have fls its better and far superior as well. Great review rambling is good when doing a review helps ppl make decisions.

Yes; ideally you would want a round reel as a baitcast if option but I believe this is one of the most suitable low profile casting options

Bro I own over 60 revo’s and to be honest the Pro max 3 is a smoother more comfortable reel IMO. And I honestly use all my pro max 3s fishing events from deep cranking to swimbait fishing. I pick them over the revo x and S any day

Burned one up in five months. I used it for deep cranking.

Hi there , im planning to buy a reel exclusively for saltwater use and did a bit research on saltwater reels . One of the name that came up is abu garcia revo4x inshore which is within my budget , the price is 165 usd in india. And Curado K301 which is 225 USD was suggested by few , but im not sure whether its a saltwater reel or not. Kindly do opine. In your opinion hows the revo 4x ( inshore is same as revo4x except corrosion resistant ) ? Also while compared to curado K ?

I hear that shimanos are really resistant and yt’s like 1rod1reel used their freshwater shimanos for saltwater but I imagine a inshore saltwater rated revo is the best tool for the job since it is rated for saltwater. Hope that helps!
