When ever you work on this car I get so damn hype
For the sound deadening material I have a solution. Either Roadkill or Finnegans Garage, they used dry ice to harden the sound deadening material. They used enough to cover the entire surface with dry ice. As it hardened you could hear popping and cracking. They were able to remove most of it easily with gloves. Hope this helps.
Late to the party but I'll say it anyway, just got myself a 1999 GC8 Impreza and so far this series is making that itch to modify mine more intense 😂

I’m late to this video stuck with COVID so catching up on all these cool videos 😂 but I saw you were struggling with old plastic clips and I’ve found soapy water works best for me not to brake any plastic clips thought that might help. Thanks for these videos I’m trying to restore my Mustang and you’re sharing a lot of cool tips👍🏻

You can use dry ice to remove sound deadner. Works amazing!

Glad to see another gc8 build! That molding is super hard to get off without breaking clips, but you can find replacement clips on ebay

prep work is key, take time taping everything off, and make sure the car is wiped down real good before you spray

Since you're doing a full resto have you considered seam-welding the car? That's supposed to help with the structural rigidity of the GC chassis a lot.
