I've been waiting for this video Colin, and you have done a great job of covering it. Some of the most recent additions are so new and different, it's like learning the app all over again. I had completely missed those 3D assets for instance, and they are golden! Nice job, much appreciated.
Thank you for the video. I have the latest Photoshop beta version 26.2 and also Substance 3d Viewer. When I want to import an FBX file into Photoshop Beta it tells me that it cannot connect to Substance 3d Viewer. However, I can open Substance 3D Viewer separately on my Macbook. Do you perhaps have an idea why this could be?
Hi Colin, unfortunately none of the assets are downloadable. .Subscription to the Adobe Suite is not enough. The Substance 3D Collection applications are considered a separate suite from Adobe Creative Cloud.
Great news, thank you! I have not watched the more in-depth vid yet (just about to) but is it possible to take a model, say of a jar or supplement bottle, and wrap a label from an illustrator image?
This is a very good tutorial, and I'd like to try it. Unfortunately, after I signed up for the Substance 3D plan, the 1st 30 days were free BTW, but I was unable to download any 3D assets. I get the "subscribe" button instead. That started 3 days ago, and it's still happening. According to the Adobe community, in an answer to the same problem a few years ago, "... your 3D subscription is still pending, ..., but the download point for the 3D assets is given to users the moment the payment is received." I think this means I'll have to wait another 27 days before downloading an asset.
My computer is not up to date to run the new Photoshop. Do you have any suggestions for someone on a budget for the best pc for me to purchase that will run the new Adobe Photoshop software by any chance? thank you
Thank you for another great video. Do you know (or anyone else) if this capability is available world wide. The 3d files will not display in my images and the couch you use in this demo in not free, I am based in Europe. I have tried different methods to download the .fbx files and place them in PS beta or Substance but nothing seems to work. I have an Adobe subscription and a compatible graphics card.
@@cgvinny Thanks for that, it would appear to be a graphics card issue, even though the adobe checker says its is compatible it does not meet the requirements for 3D.
Sorry is there a way to place an image of a helmet (png) and be able to rotate it 3D? Might be impossible since it’s not a 3D image. Or I could try generate ai
@@harrisjon1 You cannot turn a 2D image into a 3D image, you can generate one though, see my other tut on that th-cam.com/video/9wt32q9TLU8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GCL5d2DG8SuvXgD1

Glad to help
Thanks for this video! I was missing the 3D feature from the old versions.
Yeah, they were useful, nice to have something again
Lovely and excellent tips. Thank You
Impressive stuff, another valuble tool for building realistic composites 👍
I think so too
Interesting. Thanks. I don’t know if that’s for me though. Maybe somewhere down the line.

I have a 16 inch macbook pro with M3 pro, is this enough to do this work? Thanks!
Absolutely yes

Should be yes
Not yet, but this is on the TODO list ;)
Heel nieuw voor me, maar bedankt voor de uitleg hier voor.
You're welcome
Thank you!

I can suggest Mac hardware, but don't use PC enough to make a valid recommendation.

Are you using the beta version of Photoshop? (it'as available worldwide, yes)

@@wooddust yeah, 3D requires a pretty decent graphic capabilities (good GPU, or M2 and above processors on Mac)

Thank you! I appreciate the reply.
Can you use your own 3D models?
Yes, my last video on this I show you how
How does this compare to Blender? Anyone have experience with both?
It's entirely different. Blender is a full-featured 3D creation tool. This is an easy to use tool to specifically work with 2D images and 3D.
@ thank you! 😊
The whole back and forth process seems clumsy and the results are pretty underwhelming. I guess it's beta but I just don't see where this is going.
Impressive, but sadly doesn't work, and the assets you downloaded aren't free. Good video though Colin!
