If you are travelling or otherwise have to improvise, there are now waffle-pattern silicone trivets at wal-mart, etc. in the food or cookware sections. They are not big, but they will keep little screws and other parts from rolling away. Also, metal baking trays from the dollar stores are handy, and being from the dollar store, they only cost $1.35 or so. But the HF ones look good....
Hello again, Doc I think you might be following me. I was Harbor Freight today, picking up super lube. I saw those trays. They looked great to me. Again thank you
I've got the large and small ones, and really like them. I have plans on picking up the medium size the next time I'm by Harbor Freight. They're exceptionally handy for working on just about anything that will fit on them. The small and medium ones are designed to sit down inside the tray of the larger one for storage as well.
Trace some particle board or thin ABS plastic sheet and cut it out in the shape of the tray, then glue it to the back. That's what I did to make them rigid. I got the 3-pack of nesting silicone organizers on clearance at menards for $9.
Totally worth it. I have two (1 for electrical work, one for general work). Easily cleaned, good gripping surface to keep stuff from running away. Worth it.
I just checked and your right, by those standards HF is scamming /s Personally I don't like the green because darker colors are harder to see against, the blue is really nice for most bits and sockets no matter the color. But man I gotta check Menard's more.
@@littlejack59 Rural King had a crimson force branded grey 3 piece set for $20 but I already had the Menards green by then. I also like the blue from HF but for the price the masterforce set is hard to beat
Fantastic trays they weigh a ton especially the big one. I've had the kobalt and other brands the hf ones are the thickest and surprisingly cheaper than the other brands. There's a good chance if you kill it somehow they will replace it too which is added value for what oys worth with a silcone tray.
I use silicone baking pans for most of my garage needs. They're cheap as hell and designed to deal with heat but a little more floppy than the US General ones you've shown so depending exactly what you want to do they may not work.
I was just at Walmart and they have a 3pc Hyper-Tough silicone tool tray set in the automotive dept, and it's red as you mention wishing to find. $30! The small tray has bit holders. It seems to be well-made and not thin or floppy.
I have both the medium and small and they are pretty nice but the bottems piss me off, I don't know how but the texture on the bottem holds dust and particles so well that if you try to wipe it off youll be left with more on the bottem. But I keep the small one in my "fix anything" kit since the medium didn't fit and tracking small bits is more important then tracking big sockets. I do also have one of those light blue mats, I got one of those very big ones for soldering and electronics work (getting it to lay flat is a pain)
You have done goofed this time. Check out the master force silicone trace from Menards same trees, as a three pack, for the same price of one of the US general.
Yeah basically Menard's set, HF set (which isn't a set), and the Hyper Tough set at Walmart...all the same thing, just in different colours. The HF is actually way overpriced compared to the other two because you need to buy it all separately. Walmart is $30 for all three pieces, but I think goes on sale for $25; Menard's takes the crown at just $15 I think it was? Only thing is you someone may not have a Menard's near them and may not like the dark green. I got the HF large one on sale and paired it with the smaller Kobalt 2pc set on sale; more or less because I wanted blue ones lol. Otherwise I would have def. waited until near a Menard's to get them then.

I just think the TH-cam tool community runs in small circles. Thanks again George for watching!

Menards has a set of all three sizes for $10 right now.

I cannot say how much these type of mats have improved my life. Between 3D printing and just general fixing.

Same! I can't pass up a good silicon parts organizer! I have really been liking the 12x15 "Boltster 100003" lately, a bit pricey but IMO worth it.
I got a three piece set in green from Menards for $15. Edit: I just checked and they’re available for 10 dollars with the 11% rebate.

I LOVE MENARDS
I bought the Menards set a few months back for $10 also. Quality is quite good. Thick and surprisingly heavy.
No menards in Oregon, large sad
I have numerous ones too. So handy for my OCD.
There is one size larger too. I have all three and really enjoy using them.

Menards has the same set in green for all three $10
it seems I’m going to go to Menards today 😅
I have been wanting those but I forget to look for them. Thanks Doc
Walmart hypertough has a 3 piece for $30 i been eyeing up. I like the red
I agree 100% I love the ones I have!!!

If you have Menards they have a set of 3 for $10. Good quality.
Perfect for a portable soldering iron!
These are great but dirt stick to them like crazy. So don’t put them on car paint!!
I prefer the magnetic trays, but the silicone ones are handy too
Love the harbor freight inclusion. We can’t all afford snap on.
Tip for anyone with kids that are into Lego, more specifically Lego technic. These things are great for that

There is not a Menards within 700 miles of me. www.menards.com/store-details/locator.html
Can you buy online and ship?

They come in green from Vim tools, but for a lot more money and they only have the medium and small.
One big miss with these, in my opinion….add magnets to base to allow for using on my car…
