Thankfully you can switch the double click back to being turbo mode just like every other light they make. Also happy they switched to a glass lens on the ultra
To use the og interface... 2 presses for turbo.. lock it out 10 presses or more it will flash and the interface will switch to 2 presses for turbo and 3 presses for the strobe. Which is better because that what all the other Olights interface is
they are still LED's, but instead of plastic lenses it is that mircoperf. very cool. The AF pro also allows light+laser. I bought my AF pro because of you, best EDC light ever!
If you put it in lock and press the button 12 times then on the 12th hold it until it flashes, it will change to 2 clicks turbo like all .other olights. 3 clicks for strobe.
Yep, that’s a deal breaker for me. For me it’s hard to beat an 18650 light. My favorite light I’ve ever had is my current one. Surefire EDC2-DFT Turbo. Takes an 18650 that can be recharged on my bank charger by my night stand, a USB port on the battery itself, or I can pop in 2 cr123s. So many options and so much power in one simple and durable light.
Sealed but rechargeable so no need to replace the batteries😂 all my olights that have rechargeable batteries have never needed replaced, even sealed one, if they do they are covered under warranty anyways
I've had a few Olights, but they've failed me about a year later. All I have left is a Baton II and a Gober. The Baton II stays on turbo for 2 seconds and drops down. The 2 others have become paperweights. I went over to Fenix and have been happy so far, they have an amazing warranty too. I want to like Olight but they just have let me down a few times. I do like the Olight Gober on my dog harness, it works great. Thanks for your videos!
I have the original Arkfeld. I dropped it outdoors in about 2 feet of snow and found it seven months later with still half a charge, and it worked perfectly. I still carry it daily, and it has been fine for a year after that. You must have gotten bad ones.
You're using your hardness test files wrong. You don't scratch left right with them. They are files. You push to cut with them. Used side to side luke that they aren't representative of the hardness listed.
Doc, Curious, Are you a mechanic? Lucky you have tons of awesome tools! Love the videos! My favorite of all the tool videos!!! God Bless, Signed, Old USAF Aircraft Mechanic!
I just got this one. I’ve not been able to find out if I can reprogram it and switch turbo to two clicks instead of the strobe. My first arcfeld and Arkfeld Pro were both double click for turbo and now I can’t get used to it and I keep strobing people.
I think you answered your own question. If dual fuel is desired then the choice is obvious. In my vid I mentioned doing the runtime math. Given the power of these small lights, I am now more apt to carry a second light rather than another battery.
I have many Rovyvon and Olight torches. They are both great products. I would tip slightly to the Olight side because I find them to have better materials, fit & finish, and UI (user interface), and because Olight's customer service is one of the best I've ever dealt with. That being said, Rovyvon makes great torches, and their "dual fuel" options are great (I've carried an E3 Pro on my keychain for years). My recommendation would be: get BOTH! The Arkfeld Ultra and Rovyvon E30 are both bangers, you won't be disappointed with either.
I have got the Ark Pro, daily care for work for sometime now. Great little light. Runtime not really a bother for me as I just leave it on mag charger when I leave for the day. UV light comes in handy for inspecting random machines and looking for odd fluorescing spots. The laser and flashlight on to point out spots in dark areas. Gotten it covered many times in machining coolant and metal dust. Still going strong.
Have they changed the accessibility of the on/off button? My only complaint with the previous version is that I’d unknowingly turn it on when it was in my pocket, even in “safe” mode (or whatever it’s called).
I wish the power button mode on laser was momentary. This might sound silly but it feels a little bit tedious to have to click it on and off when just trying to quickly point at something. Most laser pointers are momentary.
I have the racing stripe arkfeld and it will go on my hat but your hat better be tight. This one is heavier then mine. So it may but going to be awkward
@@gtiguy1992able I'm aware, but I absolutely do not want another device which requires its own special snowflake charging cable. USB-C should be universal.
@4:06 I wonder how many were (in their heads) hearing it in AvE's voice?? LOL And @6:00 I wish Osmo would make a finish as durable as this puppy. Damn. Impressed.
Can anyone answer if this thing still defaults to medium brightness no matter what when turning it on like the arkfield pro? I want it to start off in high or be programmable to be able to do so
I hate how they release a new Arkfeld and I always seem to want it more than the one I have. I have the Winter titanium model and the Pro Racing model. This one looks like it belongs in Master Chief's pocket and I have a feeling it would last longer in my HVAC work than the soft aluminum Pro model I have now. I swear if I buy one of these and they come out with a Halo edition later on, I'm never buying another Olight again.
none of these olights have replaceable batteries which is a deal breaker for me. i would consider if it took 18650s. which is too bad because i like the other features.
They just use 7075 Aluminium instead of the regular 6061. It is nothing new, Zebralight has been doing it for years, Wuben did that as well. That green color, or I would say "natural anodized" even though it wasn't anod, was used by Zebra very long time ago.
It’s a personal choice really. Only difference is 100 lumens probably won’t notice it, the bigger clip, the lens is glass instead of plastic is about it I believe and the new and stronger material
