It's a high risk-high reward type thing, but without it fights would probably take like 3 or 4 times longer than they currently do. It's absolutely integral to Sams playthrough. @@fucadekiwi the fastest way to get past them is to kill them, parrying and doing zandatsu 1 shots every non boss enemy in the game. the door wont open if you have an alert so you have to kill them
Cancel the Taunt animation early by changing sub weapons, and then Cancelling the end of the attack animations by entering blade mode and exiting it very quickly. Blade mode cancels are essential for speedrunning this and i use it throughout the run. Most attack animations will stop immediately if you enter blade mode so we flicker it on and off real quick so we can keep dishing out more attacks.
@@voriety1421 it depends on who you are fighting but Sams Upper Cut or his Running Charge attack have the highest damage per second of all his moves. Up Up + Heavy attack is the upper cut, holding Heavy attack while sprinting will do the running charge attack which is also ranged but only does half damage if you are too far away.
How Armstrong didn't kill you when phase 2 hit you?, even if he was very strong, that would be 75% damage or more, Idk how it works, it's supposed that in Revengance difficulty everything is (almost) oneshot, especially the dlcs
its a special mechanic, when you do the charged uppercut and time it just right, you can get hit by armstrong when he does that attack and it will stop his move as well as only do 50% damage to you.

Yes, that is the most popular category for speedrun.com and you can also see me select the difficulty at the beginning of the video. Also one of the biggest differences in Revengance as oppose to other difficulties is that in trade for most enemies one-shotting you, you do significantly more damage to everything else to compensate for such little health, making most of the bosses faster if you know what you are doing. Except Bladewolf for some reason, he takes longest on revengance mode and is faster on all the other difficulties.
can you link me that video, this run is on revengance mode. It is possible to beat this category faster on Very Hard mode though, probably in 7:50 or so. An 8:03 should be possible but you can probably beat revengance mode in a couple seconds faster than that and break it down to an 8:01 or flat 8 minutes or even 7:59 with enough hypothetical perfection

6:51 how do you immediately make him enter his second phase?
this is Revengance difficulty, he insantly goes into the 2nd part of phase 1 when you hit him on that difficulty. the other ones he doesnt do that.
