I don’t have a PS3 controller but you can still pair it wirelessly without one. Plug the controller into the PlayStation and navigate to the Bluetooth settings and “add new device” click “start scanning” then unplug the controller and put it in pairing mode. Plug it back in to select the controller then when you unplug it it’s paired.

I remember doing this long time ago. Problem... when it's in pairing mode how do you navigate to settings to search for Bluetooth?? You can't unless you have ps3 controller connect to it. And everytime you turn the console off it unpaired so you have to do everytime. I remember it was so inconvenient your better off with using ps3 controller. Also no rumble and motion controls. Yes ps3 had motion controls at one time.

Also, even if you have DS4v1 with the DEX firmware, it will not work at all in the CEX games, you must reconvert your games into DEX in order to use the full features of the DS4v1(v2 will not work)

Unfortunately, for some games the controller doesn't really work, tried to play gt5, doesn't work, and for some games certain buttons don't work, there's some tricks you can do to work
u can use ps5 controller on ps3 also and can use ps5 controller on ps4 , can use ps4 & ps5 controllers on ps5 its just logic and same goes as u can use the ps1 controllers on the ps2 , only bad thing is some game titles does not support the ps4 or ps5 controller for some ps3 titles but most does support on the ps3
The ps3 remote was disrespected massively and what it doesn't tell you is you can't go back to messages while gaming so when you start playing with the ps4 remote and someone messages you you can't reply unless you close the game
I've tried this the ps4 pad goes into pair mode, the ps3 finds it, I click connect and its taking that long the pad comes out of pair mode and the console says error occurred. Any ideas?
It's not worth it though, I mean unless you don't have any ps3 controller yes, but rumble doesn't work, and it has occasionally miss inputs when using the dpad...

For Fallout 3, there's no vats and third-person. And the triggers don't work. You have to use the shoulder buttons
