Man, I love these mini PC’s. Anyone thinking of getting a RaspberryPi for retro emulation - stop. Just get one of these, slap Batocera on there, and be on you’re way! Congrats on the growth of your channel, Dweeb 😉
For those curious about the image at 4:17 ... The Toronto Blue Jays were a Major League Baseball team which was so dominant in the early 90s that the player's union had to go on strike just to keep them from winning a third consecutive World Series Championship.
@@TechDweeb Honestly now sure how I found your channel, but I sub and I like it. I'm an engineer, so two of those three are in use as a dedicated pi-hole and pfsense with the third as a spare unit. I chose them because they can do much, much more than what I'm asking of them, tiny and VERY power efficient (7W). I'm certain they will be doing other "stuff" later.
This board is amazing. I can't believe it comes with everything you need to run it out of the box. I would love too see you make a video of it running Linux or even Android if it's compatible with it.
Would like a review on a ryzen 5 7530u, 12gb ram and 500gb ssd. Bought a mini PC with that for £212 (£220 delivered). Think it's a step up on the budget ladder from the n100
@7:00 - Haven't played Jamestown since like the first couple of weeks after getting it in a Humble Bundle in 2011(?), but the OST by Francisco Cerda is freakin' awesome and I still listen to it regularly. And, huh, it looks like there's been a remastered version ("Jamestown+") since 2019. Neat.
ASSASSIN'S CREED ROGUE MENTIONED! That's my favourite in the series for sure and so underrated. Shay was great, and so were the Arctic locations. I enjoyed it much more than Black Flag.
Amazing how far we've come with mini PC's... even getting to the point that a mini windows PC sometimes makes more sense now over a RaspberryPi for emulation.. though for integrated graphics I still always recommend AMD over Intel. Great review as always!
Hey TD! Love your videos! I’m not very tech savvy but I love gaming. A couple of questions…first, can I use a wireless keyboard to set up everything? And can I use a Hyper Base SATA external 3 hard drive. SATA 3 to usb 3.0 super speed with thousands of retro games? I’ve had this External Hard Drive for over a year now and never even opened it. Any feedback from anyone would be appreciated. I apologize for being so not in tune with all this stuff. I’m a 66 year old gamer and disabled and gaming is really important to me. Thank you for all you do!❤️👍
Glad they sent this to ya! You got a unique style, buddy. Dig how you did some video editing, nice to see it perform well there, was it 1080p I guess? What backend were you using with wii and gamecube? Did you switch between vulkan, ogl and direct-x? Bravo!
What is that shooter you are playing at the 7:02 mark? Looks like fun. It is so awesome that these little mini PCs are able to do so much for so little money. I remember when for this kind of money you would be building a Raspberry Pi and not be able to emulate half of this stuff.
I just bought the GMKtec K1 and I'm upgrading the ram to 32GB 2X16GB picked it up when it was $380 hopefully you got some commission from the sale I also grabbed a Anbernic RG353V but so far loving both of them
I start one of your videos and it's like I watch a Saturday morning cartoon in my childhood. Everything is perfect. This tiny PCs are very impressive. P.S.: Whats the Names of the Indie-Games you play in this Video? Thank you!
Built an i5 2500k before our son was born which has been warming my feet and study ever since but this little thing bests it by 25% and all it took was 10 years. It will leave my study cold though
I've been getting annoyed with setting my laptop up to the TV to run Parsec (it has issues on my Steam Deck) so I think honestly that I'll pick this up and it will be a good time.
I'm just waiting for my one now after an Ali 11.11 sale. Got it for 110USD. I'm going to load up Retrobat and GOG Games. I'll try use it as an alternate low power PC during the week. My usual rig has a 1000Watt PSU. I wonder how much I can lower my monthly electric bill.
I disagree about Burnout 3 being the best (IMO, Paradise) - but I will defend your right to have that AMAZING game as your favorite Burnout, not MY favorite, but a damn fine choice. Good video.
why 12GB of single channel ram? dual channel would be soo much better for performance in gaming.. a few extra bucks for 16GB of dual channel and im sold.. some Path of Exile test on these please :)
Well this is DDR5, and each DDR5 channel is actually 2 32-bit channels, it's not really 'single channel' in the traditional sense. Because of this we get much better single-channel performance with DDR5 compared to previous generations.
@@TechDweebWow, that is super interesting, cause I nearly stopped watching at Single Channel. Does this really compare with say dual channel 8Gb 3200 Mhz DDDDDR4???
Yup! Single-channel DDR5 is about equivalent to dual-channel DDR4. However true dual-channel DDR5 (quad-channel, essentially) is much better than single-channel DDR5, so the old 'dual-channel is better' adage still holds true, but the old 'single-channel is garbage' isn't. If that makes sense.
I just picked this one up to have a dedicated device for the living room tv, but I was wondering ... since the power supply is a USB-C port, can I use the PSU from the Steam Deck to power it?
An interesting small PC, and I also see an additional use for displaying movies from an equally small projector. It's a pity that there is no memory card reader. I'm also curious what this game is, visible in 6.47. It looks interesting

An n100 or n305 PC is probably perfect for that

Ooo another tiny PC? I've been wanting to buy one for a streaming setup.
I bought three of those little N100 mini pcs from another supplier, but not for gaming. More like SBC use. I like them as they are useful and cheap.

I really liked the unit when I had my hands on with it, my only concern was the occasional loud fan noise but pretty solid for the price.
