  • How I turned a bunch of old soap into something new! In this video, I take all my leftover soap and melt it down. Using my silicone Stasher Bag, I mold four new soap bars. Let me know if you'd try this with your soap scraps!

I have a huge jar of about four years of soap scraps . Been looking for a way to do this thank you x
Update an hour later it's done! I mixed some coffee grounds in to two of the new bars to make them exfoliating. Excited to try them out in a few days time xxx

Great soap video ! I too am conscious about throwing away things that can be reused or recycled, I have been wanting to do this for a while and now that you have shown me I feel I'm ready. Thank you again-Steve

I ended up doing a lot of travel last year and I always take the soap from the hotels, and my hotel soap collection has gotten unwieldy, so I’m going to try this this weekend to reduce the excess.

Love the idea of using a Pyrex measuring cup for the double boiler. Looking forward to trying your method. 💖

I wonder if your liquid soap could be made thicker by extending the heating time.
Great tip on using water to figure out how much of the soap you need for the size of the mold.
Since my favorite soap seems to have been discontinued, reusing the slivers has for me become more than recycling.

I have a soap method I started doing 10 years ago when I super tight on money.
I only had bar soap - I would save all my bath soap that got too small and then make small bars of soap to use as my hand soap at the sink.
I still use this method. And I do the same for my face soaps - shampoo/conditioner bars though now I use all natural plant based soaps. I think doing this I may have to buy at most 3 bars of soap a year.

Thanks...your method of melting the soap is simpler than others I've seen but rather than using the stash bar and cutting the bars, you can use cup cake papers, aluminum foil muffin tins or other types of molds to make a nicer looking bar....

G'day Julianna, that was a great video, I must say. Over the past year or so, I've been collecting the leftover bits of soap and have been thinking about making more soap bars from the leftover soap.... and your video has explained it all perfectly. I even just ordered a Pyrex glass measuring cup (and a few other Pyrex products) to do it just as you've done. I'll be using different silicone moulds. I've got some silicon moulds which are 5cm cube shaped (great for slow melting ice with whiskey) which I'll try using for the soap creation. 🙂

Great idea 💡! Thank you ! I’m gonna melt my soap scraps ( and I have TONS ) and I’m gonna pour them into molds ….
I tried just putting small scraps in bowl add water and then put them into mold but it was a mess … & the soap got hard too quickly …. Ps you can add food coloring to your soap (yellow was terrible actually but you can use blue food coloring & add a few drops of blueberry 🫐 essential oils … or almond oils or sandalwood … Thej I bought little bags and put them into pretty gold bags I bought off Amazon …. And gave them away …. Everyone liked the little gift I gave …7-30-23
