    Thanks for the review. After seeing Zero Fidelity's review of the stand mount version of these, I thought, these would shine too. Guess less crossover serves them better. Excellent choices for sound clips. I am learning about artists I didn't know about from these reviews.

    So I have had mine for about 3 years now. I paid about 1900 $ US for them. I auditioned some other speakers among them B&W CM10, those were double price here in Denmark. I think the Triangle won me over with a more lively and dynamic sound, with a bigger soundstage, and speakers that dissapeared. But its true that the treble is not the best I have heard. But again, considering the price its still pretty good. In my big living room the midrange and bass is very very good on the other hand. And the build quality for the price I paid is very high. As a bonus they do exceptionally well for 2 channel home theater. Clear voices, very good immersion and so clean bass.

      Interesting, my Lyrr's had no bass at all. I would recommend you use at least one or two Rythnik L12 or F12G. Then your stereo will sound insane!

    As usual Ron, clear concise truthful accurate with measurements to verify your assertions. Like others I wonder what a visit to Danny would reveal, I think it would be in Triangles best interest to find out.

  • @TheNaboen

    Qualified and thorough. Again. I really appreciate the way you relate measurements and listening impressions here. Refreshing change from the chatty chatter that characterizes the "youtube review industry". The downside for you is that you will probably lose those who are half interested. But for a nerd like me, you're gold.

    Good review. I have a set Limited Edition and like them a lot.
    Very interesting that my conclusion was total opposite yours when i tested them before my purchase :-) (Tested against several sets i same range e.g. evo 4.4., KEF and Tannoy)
    I like the highs and mid, but felt the bass was missing a bit of punch. I added a sub and problem solved.
    It is funny how ears are different. Maybe the Limited edition is different from yours in some way?
    And BTW - What HIFI gave them 5 out of 5 starrs in a review:

    I had my quartet for 2 months now. And when I did my new calibration whit my marantz sr5015. The sound it's more than great. The guitar sounds is so clearly no irriterad S sound in the trebble. Must say, it's very gorgeous to look on.
    I did pay 19990 kronor. Around 1876.63 dollars for both. I love small details in the sound when I hear water drops and when the rain hits the ground. Alla small effects is so clearly to me. I must say that I didn't get this sound whiteout calibration.

    can I just say how refreshingly CLEAR your analysis and conclusion is when backed by some measurements here and there? I had a pretty disappointing HiFi review intake the last few weeks mainly because of some much anticipated NAD M33 reviews which I was waiting for eagerly before pulling that kind of money out of the pocket for a two week test session and what I got from some ears only reviewers was great but I was seriously grounded again by audiosciencereview's test of the M33. So I can't stress enough how delighted I was by this format :-)

    Very nicely done Ron. Really feel like I connected with what this speaker delivers. They do not seem bad for the price. And the look nice for the price. I was not sure if I wanted you to get into measurements but I was wrong. I think you do a good job using measurements for insight into what your are hearing. I like their inclusion in your videos a lot now. Keep up the good work.

    I keep seeing companies putting out speakers where the basic physics are not attended to. Makes me want to start my own company but the market is so saturated. It sounds like the mid is taken too high and bad alignment between mids and highs relative to a normal sitting height. I have yet to figure out why speaker companies build tall speakers that send sound straight out, not pointing down towards the seated position.

    This speaker sounds fun and schizophrenic. It reminds me of the sound of hooking up 2 sets of speakers at the same time. I like how parts of random instruments pop out and surprise you. I don't know if I could enjoy that on a everyday basis but it sure is different and engaging. Thanks for the sound demo.

    Wouldn't a viable option be to angle the speakers down so as not to be listening to them much off the vertical plane? I have to wonder if much better results could have been achieved having done so. I've owned both Infinity 9 Kappa and Legacy Audio Focus speakers and in both cases this was a must given their height, especially with the 9 Kappa as the Tweeter & Emit Super Tweeter were way up at the top of the speaker.

  • @johnhpalmer6098
    @johnhpalmer6098 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    i know one of your mics malfunctioned but I got a rather chesty sound from the mids, like the treble was not even there, or severely reduced. Not impressed. In other words, it sounded slurred together and smears. Not enjoyable. But seeing the spectral decay and the slop in the midrange tells the story.

  • @sudd3660
    @sudd3660 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    what do you mean its a tall speaker? at almost 1.2 meter tall speaker if specs are right, its pretty low for my listening height. i think of people slouching down in a sofa with pillows right behind the ear to go that much lower, that then you have much more problems to fix than just height.

    • @infn
      @infn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Compared to the Concept 500s recordings, the recordings of the Genese Quartets have noticeably less clarity, less refinement and sound more forward and slightly shouty. But even at the Quartets' price point they really should perform better than they do.

  • @rankuris

    Really don't understand why Triangle brought these Genese from the dead.. It is an old product that was out of the European lineup for a long time now, and all of a sudden, Adorama decided to market them heavily.
    I own the Triangle Signature Delta, that might look the same at a first glance, however, it shares non of the problems you described.
