    I bought the Comete 40th(blonde sycamore) anniversary about two years ago, I pair them with a Naim uniti atom and a SVS Sub, and I must say I am in Love with these Speakers, even my Wife likes them, both sound and looks. (the finish is just perfekt, very beautiful speakers, integrated nicely in our livingroom) I think you describe the sound very acurate, romantik, sweet sounding, very smooth sounding, what i Really love about them is the midrage, just sounds so natural, and the best Part is they Sound very good at low Volume. The tweeter is also amazing, when I got them I could not believe I am listening to a horn loaded speaker . They work perfekt with the Naim uniti atom, very easy to drive! Thank you for you rewiew, Greetings from Austria

    Your review is spot on as always. 👍👍
    I totally agree with the importance of speaker's aesthetics, especially when you pay over 2K.
    After many years of hi-fi experience, If I had to give only one advice of getting the right speaker:
    If you cannot hear them in your room, get the one that shuits your taste at highs and mids. And if your room is not aqoustically treated, the placement will not be far enough from the back wall, or under 25-30 sqm, go for cleaner quicker and tighter bass. It is much more safe to look for more quantity IF NEEDED afterwards with a nice sub that you can put it somewhere that suits aqoustically best your place.

      i agree with your comment. nice mids and highs are not very adjustable. people tend to want everything in one at a budget price but that isnt possible. better to focus on the midrange and the add the bass later on.

      The midrange is open and clear, tonality is fantastic, especially with drums. I wouldn't call it lean, but those characteristics seem to dictate that it won't be overly warm or fat either. Partnering equipment can change these radically. I used a budget integrated and it was good. Tubes and it was blissful. Big solid state and it was extended and bold. They're quite fantastic (to me). The Magellan Duetto are taking main stage now. They are quite different and also fantastic.

      You are 100% correct in your interpretation of the review. Yes the midrange can be lean somewhat like Focal speakers but the Triangle midrange is more natural sounding than Focal. The ligh bass further gives the impression of a leaner midrange that is more clarity focused and expansive.

      @NemoPropaganda  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@dragonstone6594 I havn't heard either of those speakers but I'd always rather to have subwoofers. 30hz out of a speaker isn't the same as 30hz from a good subwoofer unless the speaker is absolutely massive which most people don't have space or budget for.

  • @yamafanboy
    @yamafanboy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I was about to make a silly comment along the lines of those speakers being "so sexy I would believe any sexual harassment accusations they made against anyone"... but then at the end you mentioned people in the comment section asking about advice without mentioning budget. I actually believe that, as frustrating as that might be for you to deal with, it's still for the best.
    I have come to the conclusion that people generally underestimate the level of fulfillment that can be achieved from listening to music (or movies) through above average (or damn near prefect) sounding music systems.(my PSB speakers are above average and my headphones are damn near perfect lol). That goes equally for those who are genuinely into this hobby as well as those who (think they) are not.
    I am so entrenched in this belief, I will make a bold and downright crazy claim right now and bet my life on it that I'm 100% right. I believe that it is FAR more rewarding, and even more financially responsible in the long term, to finance a loan up to around $15K maybe even up to $20K to spec out and build a music system that is well above your budget range, basing your purchase decision strictly on the sonic quality of the components you select by the process of elimination as you audition them in person, instead of trying to constrain yourself to your available budget at the time.
    I intend to go as far outside my budget as necessary for my next system build. As soon as the opportunity presents itself for me to travel so I can audition all (or as many as possible) of the components that peaked my curiosity from all the 100's reviews I've watched so far.... whatever that build costs that's what I'm getting.

    • @erics.4113
      @erics.4113 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with the statement overall, fiscally speaking. I went around the block buying up every $500-$700ish bookshelf and realized you're trading in different sonic traits, not so much pushing the performance or refinement envelope. And then I did the incremental amp upgrades. The $1000 to the $1500 amp again, mostly different, not really pushing the needle too far. I don't regret my journey because it helped inform what characteristics I valued the most. Now system sits around $30k, upgraded over time, and my curiosity for the budget gear has mostly been satisfied. You often get what you pay for, and I highly encourage everyone to stretch as far as possible because the truly good equipment will always retain decent value, and the sound quality gains are very real at thresholds beyond the budget categories. That's not to say there aren't absolute bargains, but generally speaking the good stuff commands $

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i dunno about financing but I think at minimum saving up for better amplification is a very good idea, I continue to feel that is the foundation of the entire system.

    • @yamafanboy
      @yamafanboy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NemoPropaganda well in a perfect world yes saving up would be ideal but in reality most people (read "me specifically" lmao) will rarely have the discipline to save and not touch that money for long enough to achieve that goal.
      Also depending on how slowly your saving process goes, one or more of the components you had your heart set on may go out of stock for an extended period of time or be discontinued entirely. That has happened to me before when I was attempting to be "frugal" regarding a purchase that I could have just sacrificed a little and bought the item outright instead of saving up and budgeting, and it feels like a sucker punch to the nuts lol.
      Last issue is that if you're lucky enough to have the item remain in stock until you've saved up the money it's possible that the price increased over time. For example the PSB imagine mini speakers that you so graciously tipped me off to have not only been discontinued but right now if you have to get a pair of those brand new they range between 500 to 700 on fleebay. That may not be a perfect example as they were already discontinued when you reviewed them but It seems to be a trend with a lot of quality products. You either end up paying a significantly higher price as time passes or the item is discontinued (or worse it's replaced with a crappier version)

    Triangle is a very good French brand like a Focal. For my father's 60th birthday, I bought Triangle Borea BR03 Connect active speakers for 500 euros and was slightly shocked when I heard them. I seriously wondered if my system is really as good value as I thought, (Focal Aria 906 with original stands for 800 euros, 50 euros for speaker cables, 1300 euros (slightly used) for one of the best and most suitable amplifiers for this price - YBA Heritage A200 and Primare Prisma NP5 MARK II streamer for 350 euros (new), MSRP about 600 euros, this Triangle sounds 85 - 90% like my setup for a few thousand euros, and the price is ridiculous... The KEF R3 Meta is close but not bright up top, maybe try to audition that. I would consider the R3 Meta a pretty good upgrade overall as long as you have the amplificaiton to show it off. @10:26 you said the triangle evoke 20 😂. It’s cool though you’re allowed to make mistakes

      Yeah I caught that too. Such is the case with the single take style. I usually just leave it when its minor.

    How are they versus Aria 906?

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aria 906 is going to be more consistent with higher volumes and would be preferred for those who wish to push their speakers harder. The soundstage depth on the Aria 906 is poor compared to the Comete 40th so customers who will enjoy more low level listening and prefer a more immersive soundstage in terms of depth width & hight may prefer the Comete 40th. Aditionally neither speaker has strong bass but the Aria 906 does have more bass than the Comete 40th. If you already own the 906 I would not suggest the Comete 40th as an upgrade because while there are differences the two speakers are also very similar overall. Likewise I would not suggest the Comete 40th owner to the Aria 906. It's like Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, they're different but very similar cars.

    But, is it potentially high end fatiguing ?!?!

    • @bearclaw5115

      With the wrong amp at higher volumes that would be likely.

      I have these and do not find the fatiguing at all. I found the BR03 super fatiguing however for what it’s worth.

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like any speaker that is more clarity focused and forward in the trebel absolutely yes. In the wrong room or with the wrong amp it can absolutely be too much for some listeners which is why I suggest pairing with smoother/warmer amps.

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, BR03 is less refined and at louder volumes can be too much but for its price its still very good.

    Look a little small 😮

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      really? It's a pretty normal sized bookshelf speaker IMO. Small would be something like the Dynaudio EMIT 10 or Project Speaker Box 5. This is more like Buchardt S400 MK2 size :)
