    Holy crap! 2:20!! I'm sooo glad they included that move from the film! I swear. It's the best move EVER. It should be a law that every Hairspray production or performance of this song needs to use that move there, haha. This made me so happy! Great job.

      briatthedisco we're using this song for my jazz recital and my teacher just can't seem to figure that move out, she had to teach it to us without really knowing it herself 😂

    I understand that the song says "nice white kids" and that they wanted to honour it however it was really wrong to exclude dancers of colour and only allow white dancers to compete in this dance.

      It's more than likely that there were no people of color in this age group at this studio. Growing up I lived in a small suburban town with the majority of the population being white and as a result had no people of color in my age group at my studio either. Blaming the studio for exclusion isn't fair to them when it's possible that they didn't have the option to include dancers of other races at all.
