Yes. I was looking for a new refrigerator about five years ago. I looked at the Samsung models. They offer a lot of features. But what I don't like is having an ice maker within the refrigerator compartment instead of the freezer section. Doing that seems to increase problems for some reason. After reading through many reviews, I got the feeling that Samsung refrigerators overall don't seem to last. I bought a Whirlpool just like what was shown in the video and I haven't regretted it. Bought a big basic 36” French door Samsung nine years ago on sale $1200 Canadian when everything else was $2000 to $10,000+. I knew it was probably a mistake but hoped to get a few years out of it. Nine years later, we haven’t had a problem other than the flap (mullion) between the two doors stopped closing which was replaced on warranty. No other fridge has ever kept food longer or produce fresher. BTW, we don’t use the ice maker which is not on the door. It has withstood brutally hot summer heat for weeks and power outages without any problems (yet). I guess I would never buy another Samsung, but this one has been a champ! 🍒
My mom’s a big boss at Lowe’s and she tells me the same thing, she said NEVER go for the Samsungs, they always break and they never have a warranty tech to go and fix them. If a Samsung gets returned it’s marked down for really cheap.
Says "Budget". :Goes straight to $2400 Whirlpool and $3000 GE Profile unit: Also, I've head that it's NEVER a good idea to get a fridge with an icemaker in the refrigerator side, which is what EVERY french door unit with an ice dispenser on the door has, yet you recommend models with this "feature".
I would dig a root cellar before an ever bought another Frigidaire refrigerator . The repair guy has worn out my driveway. The Microwave died completely after 3 years. The Stove is the only thing left. Frigidaire Customer Service is the worst. Never ever again!!
I have a frigidaire that stopped defrosting at 7 years old. I've been manually defrosting it every few weeks which is a giant PITA but I don't want to spend 1k+ on a new fridge and have that be junk too. Modern appliances are garbage.
Our Samsung fridge works pretty well. Knock on wood. The ice maker is a piece of 💩 actually the ice maker is completely garbage! Everything else works fine.
i have a Samsung refrigerator that I bought in November of 2018. My freezer went bad and got to a temperature of 73 degrees!😳 I called Samsung to have them come snd fix it. The company that was coming out to look at it told me it would be $100 trip charge,$100 diagnostic charge, + parts and labor. When they arrived, they looked at my paperwork and informed me that the fridge was under warranty, by just under two months. They came out a week later and fixed it. It works great now, including the ice maker. Since the refrigerator was under warranty ... it did not cost me anything out of pocket.
He is so right about a Samsung refrigerator. I had a french door and it fell apart rather quickly piece by piece. Within a year the entire coils in the back froze up and needed replacement. Other problems surfaced and I had to get rid of it.
I feel like all the new refrigerators don't get nearly as cold as old school refrigerators. I never realized it until I picked up an old Kenmore off the side of the road to use as a garage fridge. It is so much colder than our new Whirlpool fridge in the house. Everything new is going to crap.
That's because modern refrigerator uses inverter compressor compared to the older refrigerators which runs on conventional compressor. The inverter one will save you money on power because it's energy efficient but the other won't. Everything has it's pros and cons I guess.
2000-3000 for a fridge. That’s more than I paid for a car ! The price is unbelievable. We just got a fridge for 20 dollars. It’s old but works. I’m not taking out a loan for a damn fridge!
We paid less than thirteen hundred for our frigidaire side by side, and it is fantastic. It's the same as the one we replaced and that one was fantastic, too. It lasted almost 15 years.
He goes, people that are broke buy these... Main reccomendations are usually whatever is made in this country.. which is what real broke people buy. Kinda sad really.
IMO, all anyone usually needs is a freezer-on-top with an in-freezer ice maker. They do the job and do it well. And cheaper. (You can do freezer-on-bottom if your back allows, but top freezers are easier to get into.)
He's correct about the Samsung. We got the largest one they had in 2014 and I loved it but it stopped cooling 6 mos later! Technician came out and tried to fix it but it only worked for about a month and thrn the 2nd tech came out and could not fix it. It was still under warranty and Home Depot tried to deny the warranty but we were so pissed that we told them to come get it or we would load it in our truck and dump it at the front doors. They promptly gave us a refund and a huge discount on our Whirlpool which is still running fine.
That profile ge refrigerator is dual evap as well. Which means if you do run into an issue theres a strong likelyhood you dont lose your fridge and freezer at the same time.
Get mine delivered in a few days and I’m so excited! We got it on sale and when we were buying by it the price was even lower than what was advertised! Came out to $1739 plus we get a free set of panels of our color choice!
The absolute BEST refrigerators I've ever owned were a 1957 GE and then a 1961 GE... The '57 was plugged in and running for 30 years when I "found" it in the basement kitchen of a house that I was doing some electrical work in, way back in 1987. The elderly lady that owned it said she just didn't need it any longer and sold it to me for ten whole dollars! I used that fridge in my first home until I sold the place in '96.... I'm pretty sure that it was the refrigerator that sold the house 😁 Fast forward to 2005 when I married my second wife. We bought an old farmhouse "out in the country", which didn't come with a fridge. My Father In Law said "just take the one out in my garage" and gave us their '61 GE... Cream yellow with the fridge above and freezer below, ice maker and everything else. It has been running EVERY DAY since he and my Mother In Law bought it new in 1961 and she took the absolute best care of it all it's life... Appliance Wax every month and cleaned out every two weeks. People come over to visit and always ask to buy it from us😂
I bought a Samsung refrigerator about two and a half years ago. Just as the warranty went out, not even four weeks past. I was debating to get it repaired or just go out and buy a new one ? I do not need a side-by-side door refrigerator as he’s talking about in this blog. After watching this, I’m thinking of just going out and buying a new refrigerator. Any recommendations would be helpful. I had a Sear refrigerator prior to purchasing this Samsung. It lasted me 20 years.
You were lucky and like the majority give a 5-star review then there are a whole bunch of people unlucky and give a 1-star review. My Samsung fridge gave problems after more than 5 years, as it did for many people and I replaced it with an LG that also has known problems but I purchased a 5-year warranty. When you go to the store sometimes you have to choose with what they have available for quick delivery and within your budget because your fridge is dead.

He didn’t say that model was on clearance, you’re correct. But I’ve noticed the Samsungs go on much better promotions and much more often than other brands
The clearance isn’t relevant to his case. He’s saying to stay away from that brand. Buy a Samsung TV. I am stuck with a Samsung fridge. Thankfully, I have been able to do the repairs on it so far, but there have been repairs. I’m anti digital appliances by this point.
I bought a Samsung fridge 7 years ago, I've only just had a failure with the in wall water spigot. Am I lucky or has quality gone down over the last couple years?
Well, I have to disagree. All of my appliances in my house are all Samsung. Bought 6 Samsung tvs, fridge, dishwasher, washer, and dryer all back in 2011, all still running today. Zero issues with all of them except for the dryer as the heating element went out but fixed myself for less than $100. I've been very happy with the purchases going on 13 years.
This guy has a serious issue with every brand except speed queen, to each their own if someone wants to buy a Samsung let them buy it you can’t sit there and tell people this one’s good this one’s bad this one good this one bad you have no clue.
if all washer/dryer manufacturers where rated on a scale of 1 to 100,..Speed Queen would be a 95 and the next closest would be a 50. SQ rules the roost.
@@truthseeker1181 if it were an "opinion",...sure. its not. its a fact. delve into repair statistics and satisfaction reports and then come back and say... Pricey Speed Queen is the Vitamix, Lexus of washers. It's only worth if your doing more than 5 loads a day like a extra large family. But a simple $250-500 Whirlpool gets the job done for 15-25 years and small families.

We just bought a new Samsung RS27T5200SR December 21, 2023. Super quiet, 37 degrees in refrigerator and 0 degrees in freezer. Plenty of ice in maker. Best side by side we’ve ever had. Ample LED lighting. We purchased the 5 year protection plan.
I approve your recommendation about the Samsung Refrigerator. In the 3rd year after my purchase, it started to have frost built up in the back, it had poor drainage, and no cooling, flooded the kitchen, was rusty, and fell apart. I wish someone had told me this before buying it.
The 1st Samsung he showed, same one I have with bottom barn doors. The doors have an issue with not closing all the way. Even the door alarm wont go off as its just slightly open, the ice maker will frost over and you cant get the drawer out after it all freezes over and you get no ice. The compressor is kinda noisy, but we got it stupid cheap as a scratch & dent.
I find it interesting that "budget" refrigerators are $2,399 or $2,999. I've notice that Maytag (a Whirlpool brand) offers a 10 year warranty on the compressor. I think LG might have a few issues and class action lawsuits.
When the hell did refrigerators start costing $3K! That’s insane

A big boss? Sounds like a dumb betch
Fun fact, GE Consumer products are all made by Haier. Not sure who makes Whirlpool, but i think they're Chinese too.
Samsungs might be crap, but so are todays Whirlpools.
I had a Samsung for 15 years. The only issue was the ice maker. Though it was out of warranty, Samsung fixed it for free.
Says "Budget".
:Goes straight to $2400 Whirlpool and $3000 GE Profile unit:
Also, I've head that it's NEVER a good idea to get a fridge with an icemaker in the refrigerator side, which is what EVERY french door unit with an ice dispenser on the door has, yet you recommend models with this "feature".
We just bought a profile and no water/ice dispenser. Ice is in the freezer. It also cost $2100.00 not 3k. 😉
@@deannaf4237 Then you got a really good deal. I was looking at the same one several months ago and it was $2600 on sale.
A root cellar! Best recommendation!!!
Our Samsung fridge works pretty well. Knock on wood. The ice maker is a piece of 💩 actually the ice maker is completely garbage! Everything else works fine.
Prob cause it’s up in your fridge and not in a freezer
Common problem well known by Samsung.
i have a Samsung refrigerator that I bought in November of 2018.
Samsung engineers have given up on the ice maker.
Exactly what happened with mine!
He is so right about a Samsung refrigerator. I had a french door and it fell apart rather quickly piece by piece. Within a year the entire coils in the back froze up and needed replacement. Other problems surfaced and I had to get rid of it.
So which do u recommend
I just bought a perfectly functional old fridge for $40.
I feel like all the new refrigerators don't get nearly as cold as old school refrigerators. I never realized it until I picked up an old Kenmore off the side of the road to use as a garage fridge. It is so much colder than our new Whirlpool fridge in the house. Everything new is going to crap.
U said it!!!
You will be forced to soon, you will have nothing and you will like it
@@firefly9838jokes on you 😂 I already have nothing and like it lol
You paid $3K for a car??
@@lightsfansofthewest481 lol ya it wasn’t new :)
@aranelelena4215 The lowest I can find for a car is $7K, and that's with over 200K miles.
We paid less than thirteen hundred for our frigidaire side by side, and it is fantastic.
It's the same as the one we replaced and that one was fantastic, too. It lasted almost 15 years.
This guy is so biased. True American patriot!
He goes, people that are broke buy these... Main reccomendations are usually whatever is made in this country.. which is what real broke people buy. Kinda sad really.
GE is not American, it's Chinese. Made by Haier.
@@sonyxperiathree4554That's true. Chinese stuff. What will gonna do. We are victims of the bad chip industry with big big profits.
IMO, all anyone usually needs is a freezer-on-top with an in-freezer ice maker. They do the job and do it well. And cheaper.
(You can do freezer-on-bottom if your back allows, but top freezers are easier to get into.)
I have the Samsung, it's fine after 4 years. The app is nice since it let's me know when the kids leave the door open.
Does the ice Maker work?
@@0hlegboth of them do. Flawlessly
My samsung works fine...
I love my Whirlpool French door fridge. I have had it 4:years and runs great v
I truly value your work. Thank you
Budget is 2400-3k? Jesus I'm poor
😂 he must be a Millionaire
زI have a Samsung Frige since 2009. It works perfectly. never had a problem with it.
Broke? You can make a decent living and $2300 is still way too match to spend on a fridge when your not prepared ahead of time. Geez.
That profile ge refrigerator is dual evap as well. Which means if you do run into an issue theres a strong likelyhood you dont lose your fridge and freezer at the same time.
Guy is like , SAMSUNG!! DONT BUY IT!! Every thing else yes lol
Get mine delivered in a few days and I’m so excited! We got it on sale and when we were buying by it the price was even lower than what was advertised! Came out to $1739 plus we get a free set of panels of our color choice!
I agree about Samsung. I did and I regret it. The company does not do right by the customer.
I've had nothing but Whirlpool fridges for 32 years. I'm on my 3rd one. That's pretty good.
Man... you have to knock a digit off from those prices to be in my budget....
I'm pretty sure that it was the refrigerator that sold the house 😁
Fast forward to 2005 when I married my second wife.
People come over to visit and always ask to buy it from us😂
Buy stainless, and you'll have a guaranteed job keeping it fingerprint-free.
I've noticed in some cases when you choose the color white with appliances online it actually INCREASES the price...
I’ve had a GE profile that still runs since 2005…🤷🏻♂️ JS
He said the ge was good not avoid it
I got a Westinghouse fridge/ freezer in 2008. Still running perfectly.
I have a Samsung that has worked flawlessly for 5 years so far.
I suggest you be prepared and buy coolers.
My appliance repair guy picked me a (basic) Samsung French door (bottom freezer). It is 6 years old now - and trouble free. Not bad for $1200.
My 18 year old Samsung still going strong!
They were made different 18 years ago
18 years ago Samsung wasn't a junk company.
We have all Samsung appliances because my uncle works there and everything is great, except for the tablets lol. Bought in 2015 and still going strong!
I have a Samsung fridge from 1995 - replaced the compressor once in 2011. Works great.
Never buying a Samsung again.
I'm looking for a half-size refrigerator/freezer, any recommendations?
He’s telling the truth firsthand experience. Listen to this man do not buy Samsung refrigerators. Repeat do not buy Samsung refrigerator. Repeat do not buy Samsung refrigerators.
My plumbed in Samsung cost £900 pounds and is still going 18 years later. Never even changed the filter because our water is so soft. One compressor replaced 15 years ago for free just outside warranty.
Love it
So true i had samsung refrigerator it went out they said unfixable and both samsung washer and dryer dead after 3 year's
Hi Sir, I want to purchase double door refrigerator in 2024 having good build quality, advanced features and capacity upto 350 liters. Which brand is best between LG and Liebherr?? Please share your opinion..
I can't stand french door refrigerators, and wouldn't have one even if it was free.
What do you think of Z-line appliance and some of the higher end appliances ? Are they worth the money ?
Zline is garbage
The $1400 Samsung was clearance priced as well, you didn’t mention this… Be honest with your reporting…
He didn’t say that model was on clearance, you’re correct. But I’ve noticed the Samsungs go on much better promotions and much more often than other brands
He's biased
The clearance isn’t relevant to his case. He’s saying to stay away from that brand.
Buy a Samsung TV.
I am stuck with a Samsung fridge. Thankfully, I have been able to do the repairs on it so far, but there have been repairs.
I’m anti digital appliances by this point.
I bought a Samsung fridge 7 years ago, I've only just had a failure with the in wall water spigot. Am I lucky or has quality gone down over the last couple years?
Knock on wood, have had ours 11 years
You're right, don't buy Samsung I got suckered into one on sale. Failed me in 9 months
Yeah Samsung should be called shitsung
Finally ....someone who is behind good ole American innovation....I love it
all of them would be "bad buys" 20+ years ago.
Except for Samsung
@@TheSighphiguy To each there own
@@truthseeker1181 if it were an "opinion",...sure.
its not. its a fact.
delve into repair statistics and satisfaction reports and then come back and say... "you can’t sit there and tell people this one’s good this one’s bad this one good this one bad".
you most certainly CAN say which is better or worse.
@@TheSighphiguy ok master
Pricey Speed Queen is the Vitamix, Lexus of washers. It's only worth if your doing more than 5 loads a day like a extra large family. But a simple $250-500 Whirlpool gets the job done for 15-25 years and small families.
Our Kenmore it's close to 25 years I only had to replace the defrosting sensor once and the fan, other than that it's been wonderful, I was considering buying a Samsung before it goes out on us but everywhere I look they have mixed reviews
My Kenmore just stopped after 25 years so i bought a Frigidaire .
Just swapped out my wonderful but ancient Kenmore for a fancy stainless Whirlpool… I wish I kept my Kenmore!!! Never had a single problem! Whirlpool needs servicing after 3 weeks!
Dont pay for stainless they always end up on craigslist. Just get white or black
half-ass advice from a half wit
Oh, so the stainless causes it to fail 🤔
@@brianwilliams9154 no, people always "want" stainless until they live with it. They get tired or having to fight and wipe for fingerprints so eventually the sell it. IF YOU MUST GET STAINLESS BUY USED.
Steve in Florida caught your video and enjoyed it thank you. You are totally right, mine is 11 years old with drainage problems. Can you tell me if the new any better?
Refrigerators with freezers in the drawer at the bottom never were my favorite
Ok what will you recommend for people outside of USA? G&E and Whirlpool brand only popular and accessable in USA but outside is more Samsung LG, Bosch, Hitachi, Miele
All products all garbage
Now you also got to remember that some of the Frigidaire still have the air leak issue in the upper ice maker that's in the refrigerator side
Buy Samsung.
They make great refrigerators.
LOL😂😂😂
Not any more if they made in México or Corea Canadá. If it not made USA theirs not good
I have a Samsung refrigerator and wash/dryer and they have been fantastic. The only issue weve had with the dryers heating element...but that is a normal maintenance item
My mother bought a Samsung French 4 door convertible. It’s 9 years old and only had one issue. The ice maker. And that she doesn’t use. Otherwise it’s been bulletproof
Would love a video on stove recommendations. Keep it up👍
We just bought a new Samsung RS27T5200SR December 21, 2023.
Super quiet, 37 degrees in refrigerator and
0 degrees in freezer.
I bought an LG fridge in 2022 . I’m just hoping they have that linear compressor reliability issue resolved . I must say it’s ultra quiet
Bought a large Samsung 3 months ago, on sale with big discounts but simple, with no dispenser on the front. Wish me luck!
Thank you for the info on samsung. Have one and yes. It's true.
Thanks for the info.
I have a bottom freezer Amana. Around $1k and it's cheaper to replae it when it breaks than going for something so expensive. I've had 2 Amanas.
kitchen aid is excellent!! buy that i have a kitchen aid dishwasher. 7 years old and used it about 5 times a week still runs like a charm
