PSA: your main pawn has affinity as well. Love threshold is MUCH higher (roughly 3 times higher than NPCs). It unlocks a special cutscene at end game and unlocks additional voice lines. They also sometimes blush when talking to you.
Small talk slightly raises affinity. High fives after battle raise affinity. Hot springs raises even higher. Taking them to the barber gives a large increase (but you have to change something). Each action has a 10 minute cooldown.
Pawn forfeiture seems to decrease affinity.
I was really hopping to get a Looter Specialization, where the pawn loots everything it sees, lol
Its a thief ability
If you make your pawn "Simple" they focus on gathering stuff more.
Like picking flowers, mining ore & hunting deer (the archer pawn I hired did at least hunt)
Also, I am not sure, but I think they might also loot the sead enemies more likely.
Simple does this, but you have to be careful about what vocation you’re playing because they will literally just go and get lost picking stuff up in my experience
@@DioDinero it seems to work best on archer as archer will easily hunt animals for you too... there is even special dialogue for archer hunting animals for you.
just like how mage/sorc has special dialogue with calm inclination where if you are idle they will use levitate to levitate up into the air and say they are basically scouting.

I feel like the specializations should be just a one time unlock thing or permanent scroll i didnt know it overwrote them kinda sucked

You don't have to waste money at the rose chateau just to get the platinum card. You can get it by using Thief's Pilfer /plunder skill and just stealing one from either the innkeep or the panhandler in Vernworth.

Update to this - the shoppe keep in build to left when entering city from main path gave me the scroll through same steps in video, just different NPC /shrug
Grisha with gifting 3x bunches of flowers plus passing one day at bench next to them per gift , did it for me with the Woodsland spec.
I gave my pawn woodland wordsmith but I’ve noticed she is also marking materials on the map🤔 I guess she likes multitasking 😆
Probably just some other pawn you hired through the summon stone had forager spec

Very nice to see that flora doesn't actually give the reward right away, I though my quest was bugged or maybe I had sold the tome together with the spell books by mistake..

From what I've seen, I believe the aphonite specialization makes said pawn immune to dragons plague, I was 6 days into the unmoored world and my main pawn and another kept getting dragon plague each day but the aphonite never contracted it
The forager and logisticians from malcolm and kendrick from the heel of history quest are so weird because like you said you never had malcom give you the forager. for me it was the other way around i had kendrick never give me the logistic. but malcom gave me forager right away something about that quest is really weird.
My biggest hatred with the curative tome is when you have a mage instead of using their magic which is free they smack you with something in their inventory especially when you only have lost 10% hp out of 100% hp waisting whatever they used we need to be able to prioritise what they use otherwise we have to let idiots use the wrong healing all the time!!!
I got the aphonite's tome from Eino, in Eini's house by doing pretty much the same thing. Gave him a bunch of stuff.
5:14 Tryshas grandfather Eino (NOT the grandmother Eini) he will give you the tome too after gift. You can find him at Tryshas house (obviously) or at Melve swiping the floor in front of Runnes Apothecary store.
Tryshas is the little girl that gives you the Meteoron tome from her quest.
Veronika, a female beastren in the north-eastern fields outside Vernworth does give Aphonite too.

i find the aphonite one rather pointless, unless you have a roleplay reason, since it just effects your main pawn.. you might as well just turn pawn's voices down in the options.
Logistician is actually bad, i get annoyed when i hire a pawn and don't realize they have that... i ended up with about 150 (not joking, but i did probably make 30 of them myself earlier) potions i don't even use since there is better (ie lighter) stuff you can make that fills both health and stamina up to "astonishing" amounts instead of that tonic that "slightly heals" and weighs twice as much.
i did Flora's quest some time ago, and talked to her father multiple times, i even own the house (2 actually), gave her some flowers.. gave her dad some flowers (he didn't seem to like them) and still nothing? i can talk to her and she basically says "HI there" and walks away..
Aphonite is them trying (and TRYING is the operative word) to make up for the fact they killed off Assassin. Which most players took to MAKE the pawns shut up in the first game (kinda hard to talk when you're Chum for invisible sea mutants) Which was the true advantage of taking the class.
Honestly; the only way to make your mage heal in the first game, reliably, was to have Anondyne be their only spell. I literally only ever taught mine Anondyne, Halidrom and Holy boon. At least this time mages get a decent offensive spell - but the problem of not casting healing enough to really help you persists. I've tried Celerity on another pawn and didn't find it that brilliant. Empyrean is decent; but the Sorcerer's the DPS caster. Healers should HEAL. Pallidium doesn't seem to do much - but I could be wrong, and there's a guy on youtube that swears if you have it, it blocks debilitations... IF the heal bot casts it in time... So really you're looking at One Boon, Halidrom and leave everything else the fuck alone.
It sucks that they nerfed Greenwarish to not heal you full up past the white bar anymore. There should be SOMETHING that counters that stupid loss gauge; which is only there to FORCE you to interact with the camping site bullshit (and it's bullshit because camp gear is expensive, can be attacked and can be broken - the same way the oxcart for "fast" travel is also bullshit. For the exact same reasons)
Capcom: IF I can be attacked by a drake at level 27 - you retards! You DO NOT fuck over my ability to heal ALL damage whenever the hell I want. (It was bad enough getting merc'ed by ogres and cyclops' AND minotaurs at level 10 for fuck sakes... nevermind the griffon; who like the drake shouldn't appear until HIGH levels, and SHOULD BE BOUND to specific hard to get to areas on the map) May as well just say "Thanks for the $100 you dropped, now go fuck yourself.
Can you only hold 1 of each specialization scroll at a time? I romanticized multiple traveling merchants but only one of them gave me a specialization scroll (Hawker).
For Woodland Wordsmith, mine dropped from Grisha after I tried to get it from Kough.
Kough had high affinity (blush) after I gave her 3-4 flowers, but still didn’t give me the tome.
Grisha gave me the time after three flowers. Might be a difference across player worlds?

The Innkeeper took 10 bundles of flowers and still wouldn't give it.
But the vendor lady gave it right after 2-3 bundles.
I got mine after doing a few quests to help an elf archer in verm who stands in front of the weapons vender, give him a bow as a gift and hell start giving you quests . after helping save his sister from a cyclopes his father gave it to me for free...
Aphonite tome may also be gotten from Eino, Eini's husband, possibly need quest for Celestial paen. Gift him rare monster drops.
Aphonite can be acquired from Trysha's grandpa, Eino, if affinity is high enough
The Innkeeper in the elfen village was broken for me. (Gave her 10 bundles)
So if she doesn't give it to you after 3 bundles of flowers go to the elf vendor who can upgrade your gear next. She gave it to me after 2 bundles.
that is good to know, ive been trying to get this, now i need to buy some flowers and go to the village
your main pawn also has an affinity system... which i didn't even know until recently... if your kind and talk to your pawn and protect them and go to hot springs with them they gain affinity... the higher their affinity the more resistance they have to dragon plague and they will also say nicer things about you and (like all other npcs) blush when you talk to them.
they however lose affinity if you throw them or get them killed or downed (they lose less affinity if they go down and are revived but still lose some)
this only really matters at the end of the true end where if they have high affinity with you they will be more emotional when talking to you during their final sacrifice to stop the dragon (both of you still die) but they are alot more passionate when talking about you (basically more like a real person).
Where did you get your info from? or is it from observation? I noticed my pawn getting Dragon Plague quite a lot and I killed her to reset it quite a lot and ran high affinity on her the moment we tried and failed to go to the coronation. I did do a hell of a lot of questing with her before that point though.
@@JLG35X your pawn does have a lower chance of contracting dragon plague if their affinity is high.. its not much lower like 10-20% or so... but still it helps (and it makes sense too as if they have a stronger bond with you the dragon will be less likely to get to them and overrule their command similar to what happens during true end where your pawn is infected but still resists)
everytime you have to kill them though their affinity drops by 25 so if they do get dragon plague their affinity for you will drop.
my main pawn hasn't caught dragon plague for awhile... even with other pawns with dragon plague in the party... it has however passed to the other support pawn but not my main pawn... not for awhile anyways (probably due to higher affinity)
@@arcanumelite4853 Can you give a link or some sort of proof? Not trying to be an ass or anything but would like to see something like info from the devs or the coding for it. My pawn got killed a lot to reset the plague, and I know she had it quite a bit even though she also had signs of high affinity.
This is true. My main pawn blushes and has additional voice lines. Most people don’t reach it because the love threshold is at like 620 for main pawns which is way higher than normal NPCs. Most people beat the game before it gets that high. I’m 100 hours in and barely progressed the story.
@@JLG35X the threshold is much higher for main pawns. It’s like 620. Most people don’t reach it because they beat the game too quickly. It also resets in NG+. You can find videos on TH-cam.

Tomes are like giving robots intelligence. Yet only one has use to it
Do tomes stack like if u get all of them for your pawn it will know everything or is it 1 use at a time active ?
Using a time will overwrite any current specialization in effect, so you can’t stack them on a pawn.

I was wondering why I had blue crystal resources all over the map all of the sudden I was like cool maybe I made it far enough in the game that the map reveals resources now but didn't know it was because of tome lol.
Can you make your pawn be quiet and craft stuff or does the one cancel the other?
as i mentioned in the video you can only have one tome active at a time

yes, i have several forager tomes, it seems most children give this tomes as a reward, including Trysha after compleing the Spellbound quest and unlocking her as a repeatable escort quest

Logistican sounds good but it stinks if you're trying to collect and ripen fruits or meat bc your pawn will just grab them and concoct a potion
None of these NPCs give me the chance to give a gift. Am I missing something? Ive done Daphne's 2 part quest. Now she is hanging out in the noble's house with the other boy and she just has a dialog line? No options.
I swear with my pawn being silent, the other two chatter even more! >:[

Pawns are great. I'm just sick and tired of leaving them hanging for a high five after every battle we win. They need to make that an option to turn it off. I felt bad the first few times, leaving them hanging, but after 120 hours, I'm so done with it.
Anybody mind detailing what it is the Hawker Specialization does?
The Hawker specialization has your pawn offer to buy some of your crafting mats when you go to rest. They'll basically sell them instantly and you get the gold for it. They only buy items from your inventory, only mats not weapons or anything, and they don't sell literally everything just random things. It's pretty good for gold tbh

And if you get to NG+ you can get them again from the same people.

correct. Any earlier equipped tomes will be overwritten.
The hired pawn either come with a specialisation that they got from there arisen. Or non at all if that arisen hasn't used one of those tomes yet.
You can see what specialisation they have when hiring them, but you can't change their specialisation.
Daphne took materials, and bunch of flowers, gold from smithing and poison/healpotions but got me nothing in reverse. Daphne hat items, wie den Blumenstrauß, gefarmte Goldbarren und Heil/Gift-Tränke von mir genommen, aber mir nichts zurück gegeben !!!

Can you change guest pawn specializtion?
Yes but they can only have one at a time. Basically putting a new one on overwrites the one you currently have on. Choose wisely
Just hire new ones.... Guest pawns come with a given specialization.

It did work for me. Sometimes gifts get sent to one of your houses. You might check there as well.
