I watched as games changed for that format, enter the collectables and achievements which substituted for content due to system limitations. As the console gained power, instead of dropping these place holder concepts they doubled down while using cinematic cut-scenes more and more. When this finally released for PC, like other SONY games that are the 2nd coming, I hoped for the best. I don't know about others, but I was chomping at the bit to PLAY a game instead of occasionally interacting with some virtual movie for the first 45 minutes. Everything I experienced was a mash up of other stuff I already experienced 10 years before, but not with the 'Hollywood' treatment. This was THE Sony game which convinced me to temper my expectations when the only information comes from the Sony fanbase.
And sadly we won't likely ever get a true MG sequel
OMG, this game is almost 10 years old and look the pitch, graphics, animations, everything. The gaming industry has bee sinking since the new current gen release.
30 Dollars for a demo is nuts.
Let's be 100% honest, real and truthful NO ONE makes games like Hideo, absolutely no one. Are the perfect hell no, but they're masterpieces, and that's the thing about art.
The fact that this mission was the best is a shame.
*splitting it from Phantom Pain wasn't the best idea, you can clearly tell PP is missing a 3rd map....but as a stand alone, its a great little game I still play today* 👍
"Nobody makes games like this anymore."
Probably because of the lukewarm reception from nearly every big name game reviewer that told everyone to just wait for Phantom Pain to come out.
Ground Zero was a trully next gen game.MGS5 is the best stealth game to this day.Masterpiece
No one makes games like Kojima. He's his own genre.
We should be grateful that they don't do full price 40 minutes demos anymore.
Open world games that didn't need to be open world? Yeah, they still do make games like that, unfortunately.
Correction: it was $40 when it launched... for a demo... a 1hr demo... that you could beat in 10min... this was disgracefull.
Yeah idk why gamingbolt is reminiscing lol. Everybody always seems to let nostalgia blind them
Ground Zeros was one of the biggest scams in the entire gaming industry.
They charged $40 for a demo, absolutely wild.
All they want is instant gratification, and then reset, start again. Gamer for 43 years, so think I know what I'm talking about.
Been playing MGSV on and off for the past 9 years because those Mission Objectives are murderous
mostly now video games put 90percent focus on how they can make us buy the most expensive graphic card to play on 60fps
Boss, it’s been 9 years… give or take…
I hope somebody a splinter cell game, will be buying the new metal gear when it arrives.
I can never forget MGS Sons of the Patriots. It was the only game that made my fall asleep during the half an hour long cutscenes
For me it was MGS Guns of Liberty - the cutscenes on that badboy sent me right off
