I did it from 2 years ago as i have commercial racing hall but i fact i put 2 fans 12v like your fan and make it like blower the air to inside the g27 so no dust coming from out side i put filter it works great and motors lasting better
Hey man hope you see this message after 3 months, In the video our friend puts a 24v fan but instead you used 2 12v fans, wouldn't it fry the fans as 24v is still coming from the board or it is splitted as 2 fans are connected? Hope you can help me thanks!
sup yoshi im looking to complete a similar set off mods on my g923 however im looking to use the 2760 motors because i have heard that the torque on those motors are much more superior than the 18150s. i was hoping you could direct me with some advice and a product list or names of the items used. i know the basics needed such as motors fans and psu however ive heard some people talking about mosfets and other circuit board related mods that im a bit confused about. thanks in advance for your help!!
To me, if you need to replace mosfets, it's beyond what a normal person can do and cost wise not super worth it. I haven't looked into those motors but if the amp/volt requirements are similar, they should work. I do feel like you're getting close to the point where you'll break teeth though. If you want, get in touch with me via email (prototomor at gmail) and we can see what we can come up with.
Hi, just making sure for a G29, all we need are the 2 motors, heatsinks, thermal paste, fans, and a toggle switch. We don't need to upgrade the power supply?
New to this, I bought a g920 second hand and its dead, I got a replacement motherboard and it's still dead. I bought 2 power supplies 24volts designed for it and it's still dead. Have you any ideas on this? Interesting fan mod, does it keep the board cool? Cheers.
@@protomor nice one for replying, turns out the usb connector had a short pin where it wasn't making full contact.once I fixed that it came to life immediately 😀 Usb trolled me.
Wouldn't it also work to put two small fans at the bottom cut outs and have them push air out for cooling this way you wouldn't have the exposed Fan at the top
I'm pretty sure it will. I don't think Logitech ever changed their setup. But you can easily tell if you pop off the top and take a look at the motors.
Hi. Sorry I'm veery late in here (And i hope the video is not dead lol). I really wanna make the same mod as in the video (Because wanna make 30V 5A mod) but I don't really wanna make holes. Is it possible for you to measure all the top part and make a custom model for future modifications? In that way we can add support for the telemetry display (Normally people put it on phone and put with some plastic things on the base) or even more fans (Proper intake/outake
@@guri-cat4885 ah... I would but I don't have a Logitech anymore. I mean you can use the back vents and have one in and one out. Just some basic airflow will do a lot
@@protomor if it only was that simple. I wanna put more than just fan mod on mine... More button (by putting gamepad controller board) screen mounting and etc small details.. Shit I actually idk who to ask. I tried to ask in reddit but got no answers
@@guri-cat4885 I mean I can help with that. there's all the wiring goes through the center axis of the wheel. So you can hook up all your buttons that way. Amazon sells button PCBs so that should be simple. Screen can be Arduino powered. Just make sure to not let the cables get rubbed through.
@@protomor Nonono you didn't really understood me. I have all my stuff kinda planned on where and how gonna be connected. Honestly, I don't think it really matters as long as there's some kind of pressure differential and the air is moving. But even with PC cases, that's a huge debate.
@@protomor alright, imma buy a usb adapter for the fan cause i dont know how u plugged it lol but its more easier for me to understand with a usb adapter (on/off usb to fan and a usb a female to usb a male to make the cable longer) then i will just plug in into my pc, it will do the same job, i didnt modified my g29, only the steering wheel, butt cause of the size and the weight of the wheel i put on it, the g29 is almost overheating and i heard a lot of people saying that they put a custom steering wheel and their g29 just burned thats why i want to put a fan to be secure
@@Meyuuuko since I made the video, there's smaller fans that you can fit lots of different ways but your idea will work. I highly suggest the RC car heatsinks and even thermal paste. Thoase will do so much for temps.
as an hvac guy i wanted to yell at you for not having the air flow out of the top. might be a cool video if you threw a thermocouple inside and tested each direction for a bit to see which actually cools better
I figured more for playing, you wouldn't want the wind potentially in your face. I could probably use my temp laser gun to see differences. But realistically, this mod is barely needed anyway.
@@protomor oh yeah definitely wouldnt be fun to have hot air in your face. unless you want the added realism of a tracking a shitbox with no ac on a hot summer day

I tried this and unfortunately it didn't work with the fans I had. Just made a loud humming noise and didn't spin.
My g29 needs this mod! It gets quite hot with the torque turned up and then force feedback fades badly!

It's not a bad idea to upgrade the power supply but I didn't for my last one and it's still kicking.

Does anything light up? Or does it try to calibrate when you plug it into a computer?
Fan is mainly for the motor upgrade.

Yep. This was just an easy flat surface to mount to. You could get much more stealth and oem if you wanted.
Would this plus he motor swap work on a G25?
