A little tip when spray painting is to have a large plastic tub you can place over top when drying. Just keeps debris and dust off it :)

If anyone tries to do the detachable cable conversion mod, sometimes there may be a 5th black wire, this is the shielding wire and it's fine if you don't connect it to anything!
You can also try something called "milliput" to fill holes in plastic

Yes, you CAN leave out the shielding, but this isn't a great idea. The shielding should be connected to ground so that it protects the cable from interference.
Might as well solder it in, probably will take at most a few minutes and plus it prevents interference.

I never had a mechanical keyboard, always had either laptop or membrane keyboards (though I actually enjoyed using the laptops' keyboards). But I wanted to get a nice mechanical keyboard and there were no 65% options except for customs. So I went from 10$ keyboards and skipped an entire crappy mech prebuilt experience and got myself a 400$ fully custom keyboard that i spent hours building. Thank hamaji and all the other custom keyboard youtubers for giving me *THOCC*

@@eyy_man1162 I was thinking of going entry, but had a summer job and had some more money than I thought, so I was like, hey I'll just spend 200 bucks for a nice mid range. And then ended up spending 400+ for all the tools and lube and keyboard parts. It was not good but the keyboard is soo nice.
BUT, if u want to have nice lubed switches, but don't want to spend too much money/time i think the glorious switches are prelubed? And with any metal keyboard that's hollow (can be super cheap) I found from watching a bunch of videos, simply putting cotton or any padding to fill the space makes a world of difference. I think the hollow feel/sound is what makes a keyboard sound the most cheap.
