@patcahill3724 That is so true! and I think the reason bubsy came back in the first place was because they wanted to ride off the fact that he was hated. Meanwhile, earthworm jim had many games, most of which were well received 2 comic series, a TV shoe that ran for 2 seasons and a toy line. I'd say there's hope for him.
EARTHWORM JIM! The soil he did crawl! EARTHWORM JIM! A super suit did fall! Man, gotta love the cartoon show opening. Yeah, I kinda would say the Sega CD version is the definitive version--for one thing, it had levels that neither the Genesis nor SNES had, and really had other features that made it stand out.

One funny thing is that why didn't they actually take some of the SNES's extra perallax and special effects and place them on this version, it certainly would've handled it.
The windows version does include some of the snes backgrounds, most notably the evil the cat boss room, however Snot a problem has a different sky in the P.C and a less detailed one at that, it's missing the sun effect in N.J.C, missing a green planet, the foreground smoke and the out-skirts of Heck, missing a sun on Big Bruty, Down the tubes is missing parallax Level 5, had a different background with extra bits / parallax, the front foreground is missing on Pete's and the extra gooey backdrop from the final level is missing too
56:35 LOL! I worked so hard to get to that point of Pete's "Advanced Home" years ago, but I never thought to do that! I hope Pete never caught up to Jim after that! Thank you!😜
I used to have a game that had had real video and starred Lee Harvey Emrey in it!! For the life of me I can't remember the name of it. The good old Sega Mega system
I remember playing this game on Sega Genesis. This game looks way different that in Gensis there isn't a rocket launcher weapon aside of plasma and the second part of level where Jim is jumping around without his suit. Even the boss shooting rocks at you, I remember jumping and avoiding the flame not the rocks. The announcer announcing the lives of the boss (cat with 9 lives) instead Genesis the boss gives a shrill death. Wow I don't remember playing Big Bruty level. Is it because of the system's limitation in the Genesis? I got stuck in the water level where you have 99 seconds to get to the next part but I keep dying.
I had noticed a few differences on the Win 95 version. It has clouds on snot a problem and doesn't scroll the same on down the tubes sega cd is same as megadrive. And no fog on what the heck and an extended music on use your head with a guitar solo. And no music on the snowman boss and first chicken boss on win 95.
Okay am i the only one who finds the stage design and atmosphere kind of creepy looking? especially Intestinal distress, buttville, and what the heck. It looks so like realistic and gross. I do like it though it gives the game an air of mystery (even though it's supposed to be a silly kids game.)
Earthworm Jim is such a classic, one of the best things of all time in my opinion.
So true.
@@TomOConnell-mi5sl and underrated as hell too, needs more love
@patcahill3724 agreed, I mean, the fact that bubsy got 2 new games while Earthworm jim didn't get ANY is just a joke.
@@TomOConnell-mi5sl yeah and bubsy was hated anyway, for a good reason, give the poor earthworm more spotlight, man!

Season 2 of the cartoon is great
The definitive version of Earthworm Jim.
What about Jim 2? Seems like people recommend the Saturn ver. the most.
@@ThePreciseClimberSaturn definitely
@@EmmyEntropy2000indeed. Especially with Interlace mode
The Windows 95 PC version is slightly better. It has the same soundtrack and extra content as this, but the graphics are upgraded to 256 colour.
@@Dan200 the game also has a speed boost, which isn't very good, it seems like it's on fast forward

Wow so they made a whole new level for the CD version. I was wondering what those sounds I found in the Earthworm Jim soundtrack were for
Is it weird I think that the Snowman in Hell is Bad Mr. Frosty of the Clayfighters franchise? I know it isn't but my head Canon likes to think so.
Thanks for the upload! This is the EWJ I remember :) I was a spoiled kid who had a sega cd. This game was a meme before memes where known as memes.
Perfect description
Earthworm Jim is next on the hit list! Think this might be the last one for a while.
1:16:06.. it's that kind of charm that makes these games special 👍

Buccaneer No clue. I’m betting the Windows 95 port has it though, that port also had 256 color graphics.
Yeah it did have backgrounds from the SNES version.
@@turrican3839 You sure? I played the Windows 95 version growing up and I remember it being exactly like this.
The windows version does include some of the snes backgrounds, most notably the evil the cat boss room, however Snot a problem has a different sky in the P.C and a less detailed one at that, it's missing the sun effect in N.J.C, missing a green planet, the foreground smoke and the out-skirts of Heck, missing a sun on Big Bruty, Down the tubes is missing parallax Level 5, had a different background with extra bits / parallax, the front foreground is missing on Pete's and the extra gooey backdrop from the final level is missing too
Used to play this growing up. Great classic game.
ITS THE MOST FUN STAGE IN THE GAME, for Pete's sakes🐶
EARTHWORM JIIIM

Why are the sound fx muffled in this version lol
That easy mode ending is easy to get, but hard to memorize if the narrator is an example.
18:27 Lol dat Bruty spawned inside of Jim...

Keith Arem and Mical Pedriana are uncredited as composers. Also… EWJ 2 on Saturn, when?
It's a "Groovy!" kind of love.
When Jim came into stage NJK 2, I expected him to say it crazily, not somewhat depressed if you can say that.

No, they took the Genesis edition and expanded it further - that's why the SEGA CD version is "Special Edition"
You were playing with udderly (had to) perfect execution and then y'went and let Bruty eat you! xD
Not to mention.. it also has the best theme in the game
