Dunbar is a town on the North Sea coast in East Lothian in the south-east of Scotland, approximately 30 miles east of Edinburgh and 30 miles from the English border north of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Dunbar is a former royal burgh, and gave its name to an ecclesiastical and civil parish. The parish contains the villages of West Barns, Belhaven, and East Barns (abandoned) and several hamlets and farms.
The town is served by Dunbar railway station with links to Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland, as well as London and stations along the north-east England corridor.
Dunbar has a harbour dating from 1574 and is home to the Dunbar Lifeboat Station, the second-oldest RNLI station in Scotland.

There must be thousands of creels (lobster pots) stacked up around the harbour there 🙂
Love this video Luke and I'm pleased that once again you chose not to add any distracting music. Cheers mate.

Same as you my friend I have passed through Dunbar a lot of times on the train over the last 30 years but on Monday I visited Dunbar for the first, the one and only time and boy am I glad I went. There are 2 harbours, the old one and the new one and they really are gorgeous. Lots of fishing boats there and a Fisherman who owned one of the boats there, Laurie (I hope I spell his name right) took time to talk to me for about 20 minutes, about all sorts not just fishing. Any way, he tells me that the boats, all of them fish for the same thing, Lobsters. There are literally thousands of lobster pots dotted all over the new harbour . . . . . o'hh and I learned that they (Scottish people) refer to them as Creels, not lobster pots.
I thought the weather was perfect, the sky was overcast and misty.
I'm looking forward to you recording Dunbar with your amazing camera, I know it's going to be amazing.

I love this area . my family live here and in surrounding countryside. The folk are very friendly and they work hard to keep it an interesting place to visit but also for the people who live there too. I shall do this virtual visiting more often. It a good way to keep closer to special places and family but takes the edge off 'Home Sickness' . Thank you for posting. I see the sun was out too. They call it Sunny Dunny for a reason... it has more sunny days than anywhere in Scotland but I might be a bit off with info on that? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hello and thank you so much for taking time to watch my video and leave a comment, it is appreciated, a lot.
I had passed through Dunbar on a train a lot of times but this was the first time I had paid a visit and I am glad I did. I never done any homework 1st and had no idea just how beautiful Dunbar is, the harbours especially. I did spend about 20 minutes talking to a young man, a Fisherman who had his Fishing Boat in the harbour and he learned me a lot . . . . . for starters what I was calling Lobster Pots he informed me up there in Scotland they call them Creels.
I will be going again in the Spring, it takes only about an hour for me on the train from Newcastle. 🙂

Hey, hello and thank you very much taking time to watch my video and leave a comment.
I live a few mile south of Newcastle and have went through Dunbar loads of times on the train both heading up to Edinburgh and back again. I decided one day a few month ago to get off the train and have a look around and I'm really glad I did. I was very impressed what I seen and had no idea at all Dunbar was such a lovely place, the harbours especially. I'm definitely going back again.
