BMW F850GS - First True Adventure - SIBERIA 2018 - Part I

- We took the new F850GS in the first important adventure trip since it was launched - a ride to Siberia. The final destination is Magadan via the Road of Bones, but until reaching that place we visited the Olkhon Island on the Baikal Lake and traveled for thousands of km through Siberia.

Ride to Magadan is serious, so serious that locals almost never do that. Good luck and take care of yourself.

The GSA version of this is something i'm looking forward to but that said, BMW should consider putting it's CC ability on more of it's tourable models as a standard feature.

Nowadays, a smartphone app is smarter than the GPS. And cheaper. And honestly, I didn't use it too much because there's just that road.

I don’t think of going to the beach in Siberia. But anyway, this bike seems like it would be a nice upgrade from my 95 R1100 GS. But I’d prefer a shaft drive on this trip.

O singura intrebare pentru voi am : Ce preferati sa conduceti o motocicleta manuala sau una cu noua generatie DCT? As vrea sa aud raspunsul de la voi pentru ca sunteti tot timpul cu mainile pe moto... multa bafta!
Air filter service interval is normally 5-10 thousand kilometers. On that highway, the service interval is closer to .5 kilometers. LOL

Love your videos and the 850GS looks like a winner, It is edging up on the Honda ATAS as my next bike. Fuel capacity seems to be the biggest negative for long distance, but there are always bladders to help that situation.
I was wondering the same issue: fuel range. With a 15-lt tank..? ATAS is clearly a winner on this. But with tube tyres..?
I prefer tubeless tires. You can always get an extra 4 litre of fuel with you. This is my recommendation. I had a problem, just once, with the fuel range. But that was because I had to make a 20 or smth km detour. I had just a 2l spare. So I recommend to have 4 l
DriveMag Riders agree, I just had 3000 km tour in Ireland and Scotland with my f850gs and the average range was 260 km per tank...more than enough to find your next refueling station especially if you carry extra fuel ;-)
Great drone videos, keep sharing the fun you have and let us see the extra equipment you mounted on the bike - I have the F850GS since June and can’t find proper accessories such as good skid plate, engine guards, baggage rack etc. so I’m curious to see that in more details. Safe ride folks.

I have 1250 Gs. It’s just too heavy for trail riding - 850 if your doing a lot of gravel
