  • A Newbee on a BMW R 1250 GS Adventure :)
I have not found any videos on youtube if a BMW R1250 GS Adventure is good for a beginner so I decided to make my own experience and to share it with the world.
Even though the bike is big and heavy (260kg) I still think it can be very good for a beginner. If you do not believe me just watch the video where I explain my reasons.
If you still do not believe me just share your thouths in the comments and let me know your concerns.
Sorry for the overall video quality. I had no rehearsals and no time to test settings as I wanted to be authentic and record from the very beginning so I just strapped on a GoPro Max and used my phone with a voice recorder app with my Sena headset.

Srećno i pamet u glavu.

Here's a pro tip... always keep one or two fingers on the brake lever, never ride just twisting the whole throttle with your hand. It's both much safer and gives you a lot more control. Try it out and you'll never be able to go back.

Wonderful, thank you for taking us along. What a jump, straight from your test pass to the biggest adventure bike out there (well, all most). In any case it's remarkable and your quite right this is the first illustration of someone coming straight from getting his licence to jumping on a R1250 GSA on TH-cam, incredible thank you. As you mentioned as long as your responsible and very careful you'll be alright. Please let us know how you get on. Wishing well.

This is the kind of video I need to see. I’m going to get my license and this is the bike I’m going to buy. I want to see you make more videos of your experience with this bike

Congrats! Generally any bike in this class (this heavy, engine size, power etc) are not considered a beginner bike, but that being said if you are a responsible rider who practice well, understand the bike, take things slow and study, learn and adapt to it gradually then any bike can be a beginner bike. GS being a very well built, engineered and balanced bike it can very well be a beginner bike if you respect the bike and learn with it. There is no hard and fast rule for a beginner bike as long as you are a responsible rider.

What break do you use mostly while riding at slow speed, also during city ride. Thanks !

whats your conclusion after 8 month now? Was is a good purchase or you wished you you had a lighter bike?

  • @ukaszd.1268

Hi, how's it going? I'm getting my driver's license and thinking about my first motorcycle. I'm not sure the R 1250 GS will be good for me. Can you write if buying this motorcycle as the first is a good decision? What are your impressions after 11 months? Can you advise something?

  • @Uniquecapture

How did you find the manual handling of the bike such as in and out of your garage or parking spaces etc

  • @diederikvanherwijnen

I am really curious to how you are riding the bike now! Is it a piece of cake for you now?

  • @scotcook5

How have you gotten on with the GS? I'm not a new rider but the size of the bike terrifies me.
