Because he was associated with a key in the fake love teasers. What's a little more significant is that in the storyline Jin saved him first. He saved Jungkook first and because of that he could save most of the guys. I say most because obviously the storyline hasn't resolved yet.

My theory is that the little girl represents ARMY. She's the first one to stand and look toward the wall where it will open. It's like she is leading V, and all the members of BTS to happiness, life, growth, success, etc. ARMY set BTS free and led them to happiness.

MMA:
JK = sea
Jin = war/justice
Jhope = thunder
Suga = fire
V = sun/air/Icarus
Jimin = moon/light
RM = vines/earth/Dionysus (the Liberator)
'ON' MV:
JK in water, and blowing the horn to signal the gathering, like in MMA before Dionysus.
Jin in battle field with a white dove (symbol of peace).
Jhope amongst trees that look like lightning bolts / or got hit by lightning.
Suga in candle lit room / fire red banners.
V with sun rays or crown structure by his head, with burnt fallen feathers attached, and arms outstretched like wings.
Jimin surrounded by one big drum/moon that's elevated, and many others that could represent moon phases, while he was reaching up to the sky (like in many other MV's).
RM rescuing/liberating lives on earth from the flood.
Also, don't really want to connect this to Maze Runner but it does compliment all the maps and mazes BTS's been referencing.
The girl from Make It Right MV could also connects with TXT since yellow and blue are TXT's theme color and the dragon motif seen in Magic Island MV.
At the end when they run to the top, the freeze frame could ties to the freeze frame when V is jumping off the platform.
And speaking of time travel, can't help but fixate on how Jhope's outfit seems as if from a different time compare to others, and his scene with JK lying on the ground seems like a lot of time has passed at the same place JK collapsed that's why one scene JK was there as a memory and then disappear.

Haha you could have said Namjoon was the maknae because he was the first member and the maknae before Jungkook showed up.
I think Jimin brought the bird back to life when he raised his arm. And Jungkook falls after Jimin spins. The blindfolded girl and V remind me of the animation from 'Make It Right '. Also as they climb the rock Jungkook looks at 7 birds soaring high. No matter what any ARMY takes from this MV, one thing is for sure, the planning, time and work that BTS and Bighit put into this production went above and beyond. Truly an epic visual of their battle to live their dream with ARMY by their side.

The scene cuts to Jimin, he raises his arm in a outwardly position, the scene cuts back to Jin and the cage moves. Your opinion may differ and that's fine, all opinions and theories are welcome. It may as well have been Jin, I'm not discounting that theory. (I know well the story line that has ran through their MVs)I just shared what I observed and felt. That's the great thing about BTS'S MVs, it leaves room for all who watch to take something away from it. 💜💜💜🤟💜💜💜

My interpretation on the ON mv :
1. Jungkook represented dove, ie hope.
2. Jin saw the dead dove, he thought Jungkook was dead, so hope was dead, there was no longer any hope.
3. Jungkook ran away from a wall, running from a system that imprison you, or going out from a Pandora box.
4. Jimin dancing amongst discarded drums, the boy with the drums is silent, there is no more hope for music.
5. RM stranded with the various animals as his ship is broken, there is no more hope for nature, but he still prayed for hope.
6. V with a blind, silent and unmoving child, there is no hope of a childhood that is free to see, voice out and moving forward.
7. Jin saw the bird came alive, meaning that Jungkook was still alive, hope is not dead, there is still hope.
8. Jungkook fainted, hope faltered.
9. But, he dreamt of dark bird on a field with dead trees, with JHope singing. Music can still be heard even among the dead.
10. He also dreamt of a religious place, silent and dark, but Suga was singing. Music can still be sung amongst religious constraints.
11. Jungkook opened his eyes. We can still hope. As he opened his eyes, these things happened.
12. The boy with the drum start playing. Jimin reached out towards the music.
13. The child now can move. V can now opened her eyes. The wall also opened.
14. Jin, RM, Jimin, JHope, Suga now moved towards a new world.
15. Jungkook went into the river. He called out a challenge to the shadows that threatened hope.
16. The dance break, shadows were dancing, a battle between them and the members in robes, that were stuck in the shadow realm. The volcano erupted, the passion fired again, the shadows are destroyed.
17. Jungkook came to the group standing in front of the opened wall. Hope had succeeded in conquering the shadows.
18. RM raised his arm, signalling that the group now can move forward.
19. The group climbed up the mountain with hope. They are moving towards their destiny.
20. Hope ran ahead of them, meaning there is always hope in front of them, ie the future.

This is my take on this video. At the beginning it looks as if there was a war. To me the dove represents BigHit and Bang Si Hyuk. Before BTS the company was struggling. Each member then was represented by what i believe are their shadows or fears. The little girl with Tae represents the youth and those that follow the boys are ALL ARMY. I believe that all the guys were outside because they genuinely were pretty open to showing and discussing their fears. Suga was inside because at the beginning he inwardly fought and was more closed off like a spiritual battle. The ark representation with RM was maybe the fact that he rose above the floods of criticism and led them to victory. JK i think was running from himself. I think his hands were tied due to his inner conflict. He himself had to free himself. After they let go of their fears and had ARMY behind them, the dove (Bang Si-Hyuk) took off out of the cage they cut to the dance break representing them still covered yet fighting. After that notice the seven doves that flew after the direction of the first one. (Wings). They climbed the mountain and reached their goals. BTS saved ARMY by leading them back into the world that because of them was now green and lush. No more dreams turned into the dream.
When you realize it's not CGI. It was filmed in Cali.
This does not surprise me, California is beautiful.

An interesting visual key I noticed was that they put a filter (notice the image is not clear/kinda shimmering) over Jin when he looks up at the beginning and they put the sme filter over Junkook later on when he is also looking at the sky while he was escaping.
I am pretty sure the Dove and Junkook are connected as the same spirit. When the Dove is set free by Jin, Junkook is freed from the thorns around his hands at the same time.
When the Dove has it's strength and ability to fly again, Junkook lifts the conch/shell out of the water. Junkook blows the conch and is connected with his 6 Members again ready to fight and be set free. The Dove returns with 6 other Doves later on.
I think it could also connect to Noah's Ark. The bird was released to determine if it was safe to come out yet. When Jungkook blew the conch it was like he was signaling to the others that's it's ok to come out now. The "flood" is gone and the greenery is back again.
Interesting theory
jhope is a time traveller. He is the only one in contemporary outfit the same one he wore in EGO while all the rest live in the past. 🤯 In his scene he is in a place were he cant see the past death in the background indicating he is in the future.
Jungkook blew the horn (like the narnia horn) to bring jhope from the future (like how the narnia horn brings people from outside into the world). Jhope tells them how to win the battle and stop that future the one seen in the mv : (death of tae, imprisonment on jungkook, the trapped feeling jin has after the war, namjoon's guilt over loosing the war as the leader, and yoongi's shadows that drive him into darkness being control by the past battle)
They reunite also due to the horn and come together escaping those things (like maze runner escaping the maze) and rise up instead, towards a better and brighter future. So they go from no dreams to having a dream of the future together.

Could you take a look at the painting in the glitched intro for Black Swan M Countdown Comeback stage? It might connect with JK since it shows a man on the ground looking at reflection in the water with hand reaching for a grape on the other side. Around 0:22, you can pause the video and use the "" keys to move frame by frame to see those images. There are many other details there.

I think that the opening scene is like in movies where they show you the aftermath of something and go back and show you what happened to get to that point. Jin releases the live dove ( which gets killed in the attack), JK escapes and blows the shell to warn everyone that they will be attacked ,then the war dance to get prepared for war and finally the actual attack (that we don’t see) Then comes Jin with the dead bird and the aftermath with dead bodies etc.

The location for this MV is a real place in California (the rock, mountains, dead trees, lake, animals even the giraffe is real, etc). That's why BTS stayed in Cali for so long even after they performed at the Grammys.
Has any interviewers ever ask BTS directly about what their MVs/storyline/notes mean all these years? I'm curious if they themselves know or if it's up to BH and LUMPENS. Maybe someone's got to interview LUMPENS and Bang.
Yet, contradictory, even though I am curious, I do agree with them withholding information as a strategy to build interest and curiosity. That's why I was partially disappointed when they came out with the Save Me webtoon because it gave away too many answers that FBI ARMY have already touched upon but not proven. It became a finalized series rather than a open ended art piece which has made BTS been an intriguing project. I just hope that BTS as artists themselves wasn't in the dark about what they're doing.

My reaction to the music video is: I love everything about this!! BTS being medieval princes, survivors, fighters in the wild safari. Seokjin in the middle of that end of that war zone. I love their clothes and shoes. That giraffe, alpaca, zebra, goat, elephant and ship wreckage when Namjoon was rapping. Jungkook look like he was a prisoner and he needs to run away to find the others and to safety. His running reminds me of the running in Fake Love. Is so beautiful when he went to the water and got that shell and giving a singal call, a message. The thorns in his hand cuff, the tattoo on his arms. Hoseok rapping, while Jungkook is fainted on the ground and a crow is on top of him.
Taehyung with that little girl and the blindfold, and smiling cuz they finally can go to the other side of the wall fo safety. The way he softly pull down her bilndfold, and looks her so loving and holding on her hand. And, for some reason it looks like probably Taehyung’s neck tattoos is actually a scar he got, tryimg to go to safety. In the end, all of BTS and other survivors all reached their destination of safety.The forest of the other wall. It kinds of reminds me of Maze Runner and The Hunger Games. Seokjin releasing the bird as to send out a message.That dance break of them looks like they are dancing a sacred dance for their own empire. BTS being looking like a cult in those black robes. It reminds me of the robes in Fake Love. That rock reminds of the rock of The Lion King. Jungkook and his smile and running towards freedom. The words: No More Dream, changing to dream. So many symbolism and theories in this.

Ok so with that gate opening, the land became a wasteland and they were basically living in a cage, like the bird in the cage, and (biblical reference of Noah setting the dove free to find land) when Jin set the dove free it was to find hope that there was still life outside. So when the dove comes back with 6 other doves it also brings with it hope. Also the birds can be a reference to the members and connected with Jungkook blowing the conch and the ceremony with dancing and hooded figures could all be apart of some kind of ritual to restore the outside world, replenishing the earth. Often after the fire new life is awakened, new hope, and Jungkook takes a breath before starting his run again. He keeps pushing towards higher heights.

They shot in and near Los Angeles. I first thought they were near Lone Pine, but now I think it’s near the southern approach to Death Valley or the foothills of the San Gabriels. The big rock is Vasquez Rocks East of LA.
Raven was on JK. Ravens connect the human world and the spiritual world.
I think this whole mv was related to their debut song *no more dreams* ...to how they made it up to here which they *dreamed* of. But then again jk's shell and the fake love era themed hoods somehow symbolizes something else.
Edit: also when they all recollected the open area behind them at the field, was filled with forests and the path was blocked. Maybe that somehow symbolizes how they growed so much. And I think the blind girl symbolizes army itself. Like how bts protects army and showed them to love themselves after removing the blindfold. And those handcuffs on jk...are they like somehow related to jesus christ's crucifixion? Cause the thorns, they seem like it.
Remember in fake love JK goes into the tunnel behind the waterfall .....what if.....he escape to here as he was running handcuffed

in the first part you see JIN crouching looking at the bird that was hit by an arrow, then JIN looked back ... saw what happened before the bird was hit by an arrow .. but what JIN saw was jungkook running scared like a bird trying to avoid the arrow .. Jin took the bird to a small room where there were many bird cages, but seen 6 cages that were hung the rest were left alone, and seen Jin covered the cage he was carrying with a brown cloth ... some time the cage moved ... , when the genie saw the bird cage was moving, Jin realized that JK was still alive, and again "when JIN turned to the right .. ,, he saw JK who was running scared, until finally JK fell and unconscious, seen JK who Lays down like when Jin saw a bird that had been hit by an arrow at the beginning i ...
