I will one day!! Can’t wait. The difficulty oof Bikepacking trips is what makes everyday life feel doable. I just finished the Huracan 300 in Florida. Harder than you’d think for being in flat Florida. Especially the chest deep river crossing. Thanks for the content!!
Ya see I wanna go bicycle touring at 17 and start small and local to work my way up into the north east coast by North Carolina and Virginia and then turn around and come back down to like Florida and head back towards Texas
Wow!! I've hiked parts of the Colorado Trail with my Dad and he took some incredible videos and put together a very nice video of the last 100 miles or so. My Dad's goal was to hike the entire trail but being diagnosed with cancer slowed him down a bit then after beating cancer he wanted to try it again, but he lost too much strength, so he started trying to get in shape again, but cancer caught up with him again and he passed about 4 years ago. Maybe someday I will mountain bike the trail and use some of his video and mine to complete what he started. First step, building or purchasing a backpacking mountain bike and getting my mountain biking skills back and getting this 55'ish body in condition and finding a way to get time off of work.
You are really filling a void in that adventure cycling niche that so many of us love. Crazy to see how far your channel has gone and is going. Planning my first bike packing adventure for this summer. Thanks for all of the tips and inspiration my guy. Keep going!
Many of us spend our lives feeling trapped in a ho-hum job, finally retiring with failing health only to croak a few months later. For 42 years you´ve found a way to live your dreams while still contributing something; and, in all sincerity, I salute you for that.
Ryan, I'm just floored by the way that you brings a smile on all folks you meet and how you inspire so many people to enjoy this beautiful planet of ours and live healthier lives. We are all so blessed to have you share these incredible adventures with us 🙏 Thank you for inspiring me to finally make some major career and life changes to focus on my physical and mental health. Hoping to meet you out there in the trails some time!
I’m a hiker, camper, biker and runner, BUT I’ve never even thought about bike-packing…until now! All I can say is thank you, and WOW!! Godspeed, brother 💪🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing your adventure! I am a 15 year old who dreams of going on this adventure one day. Thanks for inspiring me and so many to get out there!
I got so exhausted watching you push your bike up that mountain, I had to pause the video and go take a break. Great job on your dual job of biking AND filming (and editing). Thanks so much.
Ryan you taking us with you in these adventures is like a calling or your ministry. I love it man. The heavens and the earth declare His glory and you sure have an awesome way of showing us what it looks like! Thank you bro! No whammys!
Damn it Duzer! This morning I woke up motivated and tackled a handful of home maintenance projects. I then see this come up on my feed, and even though I watched all the individual parts when you posted them in the past, I found myself sitting on the couch 90 minutes later rewatching this. :)
Ryan! You are so inspiring, not only to get out and enjoy the world and it’s beauty and people, but also to be a genuine and positive person. Watching you as you put your body and mind through struggles and discomfort and still keep such a positive attitude is amazing. You have really inspired me to plan a bikepacking trip soon. I may do one this summer in Maui if I can get out there to visit my friends. I’ve done a little cross country and downhill in the South Island of New Zealand before and loved it. Thank you so much for doing what you do. Much love to you brother. You always have a place to park your bike and lay your head if you make it to the triathlete capital , Clermont Florida
Ryan, You inspire us!!! There's just something about the effort, the skill, the stamina and persistence that keeps me watching... nevermind the fact that you ride the BEST terrain N.America offers.
Thanks! Okay You are the man. Thank you for the gift of travel that I like and would never able to do. Keep up the great adventure. I will cheer you on for all your adventure ahead. Mike
Awesome, thanks for all your hard work. Your videos have inspired me a ton and I’m planning my first week long bike packing trip largely because of you!
I love your state as well. Done a couple of trips to Colorado. Crested Butte has got to be one of my favorite places. We did ride out of Durango to Purgatory and back on the Colorado trail. Small section I know, but so memorable. Thanks for sharing Ryan. Love your videos. Keep the rubber side down brother.
I was waiting in anticipation for this video to come out! Love the long length and no music. Our next USA trip (I am in the UK) will be to Boulder and Colorado and I can’t wait to ride your trails - maybe one day I could do the Colorado trail in some of that lovely hot weather!! Thanks Ryan for the inspiration. 😁
I just relived my CT ride through this vid. You did a fantastic job of capturing the beauty but you totally downplayed the difficulty. It's way, way harder than he makes it out to be, guys. Good on ya!
Amazing video Ryan and so inspirational, I am just starting to get into bike packing and this is certainly on my bucket list as the start is 20 miles from my house. And my 19 year old daughter wants to ride it with me! Thanks for sharing!
Ryan, I enjoyed watching your videos and the good vibes you share with us. I’ve been mounting biking for a while but had never done bike-packing. I would love to experience the excitement, joy and pain one day. Maybe once life gives me a break, I’ll grab my bike and just do it! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us 👍🏻
Yes mate. Spread the love. I really enjoy watching all of the hardcore racing and Ultra endurance stuff on You Tube to get motivated and learn tips and tricks but having done my first 2 multi-day events I totally get what you are saying about being opened up emotionally when you're out on the trail all sleep deprived, high on nature and feeling like a wizard. It's a total trip. Please Please Please come to Europe and do an Ultra.
First off, THANK YOU for the generosity!! You rock!! Second, bikepacking has a way of cracking you open and letting in all the good things in life. Happy trails!
Ryan, have you thought to put a time and temp stamp in the videos? Like in this one, when you were tenting in the rain at 1:20 mark, altitude and temp would have been cool. Also, I bought a Trek powerfly 4 and I’m all suited up for the Erie trail in a couple weeks when NY weather breaks. you inspired me. Thank you buddy.
Guessing this has been asked elsewhere; how many extra miles did you ride just setting up the camera, riding back and forth to it to film the b-rolls of you riding? I'm always fascinated by how much dedication it takes to go above and beyond to capture a documentary style of solo adventuring.
Ryan, your energy really motivates me to go on my own adventures. I believe I have all that I need except a sleeping bag and perhaps a down jacket. Looking forward to go on a trip this May or summer holiday :)!!
Definitely want to do this trail. Basically starts in my backyard. I can so relate to having a smooth trail for awhile after doing technical rock and roots. I’m a hiker but was a biker over the hog back to Morrison many times in high school. I love multi use trails as it makes it fun for all. And bikes help break up the dirt. There’s nothing like the butter smoothness of fine ground dirt with no rocks from many bikes passing. The highlight of my runs up and down Mt Falcon those few feet of bliss!
Duzer, these videos are consistently my favorite escapes from my every day life. I appreciate your dedication to film making and cycling alike. Thank you so much.
I've watched most of your videos over the last several years and enjoyed all of them. I have to say that this is the first I saw your morale approaching the breaking point once or twice. You had obstles. lots of walk a bike and other issues in you SoCal videos but you never showed stress. In this one you did. Well done, a beautiful video. Thanks for putting it out there.
This is incredible to watch. I love your work. It's inspiring me to maybe try my first bikecamping trip this spring or summer (depending on when I can get time off work). Out of curiosity, how do you get such a wide variety of shots with your GoPro? I have a GoPro 10 but my footage is all pretty much one shot, from my chest mount. Do you have any videos about your filming process? I'd love to learn some new filming tricks to make my footage more interesting.
I use 3 different cameras on all trips, the GoPro is only for movement, I have a Sony for the beauty shots. Here’s my process th-cam.com/video/wyMghJJT_bQ/w-d-xo.html
Wow. I’ve watched the individual segments, but watching this extended cut really blew my mind. Not only about how beautiful & intense the Colorado trail is, but just how much video footage you had to edit! How do you keep track of it all?? 🤯 🚴
Thanks, this was a ton of work, but really fun to put together. I'm pretty good at managing media these days, it's all about keeping files very organized. CHEERS!
One of the best adventure videos I've seen. Great trail. I felt every bump in the road. Beautiful photography and editing. Kept my interest from beginning to end. Awesome, Dude!
Just watched your Colorado Trail video and loved it. I hiked Molas Pass to Durango with a friend several years ago and it has brought back so many memories. We also hit a hail storm. Loved the drone videos. My husband and I are avid bikers but being in our late 70's we stick to paved Rails to Trails and are loving it. I will be watching your future adventures. We also had some Trail magic from Gudy Gaskill one of the founders of the Colorado Trail.
Isn't it just absolutely peaceful. When I went to the Yukon and Alaska, I was taken by the silence. And the vastness of the landscapes. Looks something like your videos.
Absolutely awesome - that's like, top shelf adventure television documentary. I watched it in sections over the past week when time permitted. Stay safe out there, and always stop long enough to smell the sage!!!
Thank you for showing me/ others such beautiful places! I will never get there but I will conquer what I can Brother! From a Battled worn Marine and Seabee Veteran, this is what I fought for in my youth and adulthood. Bravo Zulu and Never Quit! OORAH P.S. One day we will ride together!!
I took my amily to Durango last year during spring break and we stumbled on the Colorado trail by accident. I believe we hiked about 10 miles but it was amazing as there was still snow in some parts. it's on my bucket list now to one day go back and finish the trail from start to finish bike packing like you did. Well done!
I watched your video for the last 15 minutes of my work day for the past week. I am already a trail runner and have lost over 70lbs. I have always wanted to bikepack Colorado. My wife took me to Colorado in 2019 and i was hooked and have been every year since. I love the state!! Thanks for the adventure Ryan!!
I watched your video through Sweden, and I would way rather be in Colorado. Your video was stunning and very much appreciated as I have only been to Colorado once. The mosquitoes in Sweden were horrific, and being from the Midwest originally, I don’t miss them at all. Now living in the foothills of the the Catalina mountains near Tucson, few mosquitoes and no fleas on my animals. Love your videos, stay safe and happy. We need more of your positive energy on this planet. Thanks!🏜🌈
Just sat down for 20 minutes with my morning coffee to watch some Ryan Van Duzer and replenish my soul. Will obviously watch the rest lol. Love your videos and your energy. Cheers!
@@duzer Yes I did thanks! As an aside, I'm waiting on a new adventure bike so I'm super excited for its arrival in the early summer to get out and get exploring! In the mean time I've got some Van Duzer adventures to live through vicariously! Stay well!
Thanks for all your inspirational videos. To watch your videos gives me strength to cope with the next big challenges on my bike. Greetings from Europe.
My grandmother is over in Colorado Springs and has a house in Westcliff. I had no idea such a thing like this existed in Colorado. Definitely want to try some of it next time I go out there to see her.
Awesome video I hiked the PCT last year at 60 and yes you will never forget this adventure . note it made me less tolerant of people in the real world so many complaints whoa is me kinda thing. I traveled completely solo just to clear my mind of all the negative people in the world. Keep up the good work.
I don't have time to be addicted to another video blog but your rides are fascinating. I'm way too old and out of shape to consider a ride, or even walk of this nature, but I sure enjoy being there vicariously. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the Colorado Trail video. I can't do the rough stuff like you do. I'm 77. But I do have an indoor exercise bike, so I do that while I'm watching your videos. Your videos are very inspiring.
Near the end of the video I was on the same emotional rollercoaster with each summit you crested just to see another one to conquer. Absolutely great adventure and congratulations! Aloha!
Truly unbelievable. The views. The footage. The trail. Your grunting. 😂 The CT has been on my MTB bikepacking bucket list for awhile and now I just have to get off my couch and get er done. Not getting any younger. From just down the street from you in North Boulder: thank you for inspiring me and all of us. You da man. Keep it up.
I am mad at myself for not finding this you tuber sooner, i but I subscribed and this video has me thinking about more trails and going to Colorado for cycling. This guy rules!!!
Sooo glad you're back....and hope you're doing better and rested from some time off. I watched all of the individual posts of this journey and thoroughly enjoyed them. Now I'm enjoying them again as you've done a great job of putting them all together!!! You're massive HAB most of the way thru this journey is really inspiring....of course there is the gopro affect....but when you're pushing and BEHIND the rear axle...that's STEEP!!! So well done...in so many ways. Happy Trails my friend!!!!
That was awesome! I live in Durango and have often wondered what the trail looked like. Your videography was also spectacular. You are a very cool dude! Just for mind/body reference, may I suggest that you say and think ‘stay right’ instead of ‘don’t fall left’. I was holding my breath at a few of those moments! And I let out some hoots when you reached Durango 🧨‼️
Awesome video, just amazing seeing all of that. I just bought my first bikpacking bike and all the attachments for it to go do my first trip this summer. I will be biting off a much smaller chunk than that kind of ride and will be just going North to South across my home state of Indiana.
RYYYYYAANNN.. I LOVE YOUU MAN. Your are the one of the few people I look up to and I dont look up to anyone! I hope one day I get to see you on the trail and get to meet you, even though im from Canada haha
Okay Mr Ryan I did it I'm out doing what I want to do which is bike packing touring across the country and loving every minute of it ty for inspiring me
Thank you, Ryan. A very inspiring movie. I have already done Sections 1-3 on a bike. This was helpful in planning which of the other segments I will do by bike and which I will hike. Thanks again for taking the time to create such professional work.
So... This ride was the straw that broke the camel's back? I can see why. Absolutely stunning scenery. Amazing cinimintograghy. Sorry about spelling. Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing this with us. 😉
Great video for an epic ride! If I was closer to your age (I'm pushing 70) I'd find a way to do that trail a.s.a.p. Worked on a ranch in Matheson, Co., back in 1973 - Lasater Ranch - and remember being able to see Pikes Peak in the distance on clear days. Glad you're still doing these docu-vid's.
I watched this whole video in one sitting and absolutely loved it !!! But……. Now I’m going thru the individual episodes and I like them even better if that’s possible :) I like the extra detail, plus one cannot get too much of the Colorado mountains ! Thanks !!!!!!!
Who wants to do this trail someday? It’s hard, but definitely one of the most impactful adventure experiences of my life
I will one day!! Can’t wait. The difficulty oof Bikepacking trips is what makes everyday life feel doable. I just finished the Huracan 300 in Florida. Harder than you’d think for being in flat Florida. Especially the chest deep river crossing. Thanks for the content!!

It's on my list!
Ride or run? Tough choice. The biking looked tough! Great video, Ryan!

Ryan, the quality of the video is just amazing. Thank you so much for the what must be hours of editing - it makes great watching over here in the UK.
It takes A LONG TIME to edit all this, but I love sharing the story, thanks for watching!

Just sat down for 20 minutes with my morning coffee to watch some Ryan Van Duzer and replenish my soul. Will obviously watch the rest lol. Love your videos and your energy. Cheers!
Thanks! Hope you had a cozy morning!
@@duzer Yes I did thanks! As an aside, I'm waiting on a new adventure bike so I'm super excited for its arrival in the early summer to get out and get exploring! In the mean time I've got some Van Duzer adventures to live through vicariously! Stay well!
Thanks Ryan I'm sitting at home with the flu and watching TH-cam 👀. Gives me motivation for when I get better 🙂. Thanks again!
Hope you feel better soon!
@@duzer thanks 😊
Thanks for all your inspirational videos. To watch your videos gives me strength to cope with the next big challenges on my bike. Greetings from Europe.
I wish you all the best on your future bike adventures
first time watcher, but the fact that you A SINGLE PERSON, can do all these shots and produce this kind of content is incredible.
Thank you! It’s a ton of work, but I love sharing these stories
Great seeing this all in one video.
California really needs a trail like this!
Thanks! I loved putting it together
Second time I’ve watched this video. I’m way too old to attempt your challenges I seriously enjoy your spirit.
What a great video, you are very enthusiastic. It makes me want to get my bike and go straight to Colorado..
Come on over!
1:09 and 1:25 say it all. Oooph!!! Great job Ryan!
Thanks!! Loved this experience
FRIJOLESSSS!!! thanks for these awesome videos Ryan!
Frijoles!!
My grandmother is over in Colorado Springs and has a house in Westcliff. I had no idea such a thing like this existed in Colorado. Definitely want to try some of it next time I go out there to see her.
It’s an epic route
Awesome video I hiked the PCT last year at 60 and yes you will never forget this adventure . note it made me less tolerant of people in the real world so many complaints whoa is me kinda thing. I traveled completely solo just to clear my mind of all the negative people in the world. Keep up the good work.
I love the vulnerability you reveal in your content. It's inspiring!
Thanks Jay, I wear my heart on my sleeve
Well done. I admire you. Wish to see the next one.
Thanks! I’ll be doing more adventures later this year!
Thanks!
THANK YOU!!!!! I can't thank you enough for your support, YOU ROCK!!!
I don't have time to be addicted to another video blog but your rides are fascinating. I'm way too old and out of shape to consider a ride, or even walk of this nature, but I sure enjoy being there vicariously. Thanks.
We’ll I appreciate you watching these videos, and glad that I can virtually transport you to these beautiful places
Your stories are amazing! Your adventures are amazing! Keep it coming because every story you tell rocks.
1:12:10 is exactly as in Norway. Rain, snow storms and beautiful mountains :D
I've heard that Norway is INCREDIBLE!
Thank you so much for the Colorado Trail video. I can't do the rough stuff like you do. I'm 77. But I do have an indoor exercise bike, so I do that while I'm watching your videos. Your videos are very inspiring.
Thank you!! Glad that I can take you on a virtual ride of the CT
Near the end of the video I was on the same emotional rollercoaster with each summit you crested just to see another one to conquer. Absolutely great adventure and congratulations! Aloha!
Oh man that final day was a tough one…it just kept going and going and going… thanks for watching!
You da man. Keep it up.
Right on!! I hope that you do it someday. It’s a stunner
I can't believe the speed of your descents. Wowzer!! Take care and keep on biking! Great videos!
I am mad at myself for not finding this you tuber sooner, i but I subscribed and this video has me thinking about more trails and going to Colorado for cycling. This guy rules!!!
Well I’m glad that you finally found me! I hope that you enjoy my videos!
@@duzer me too buddy, me too
Great video. I love that there is no music, only the sounds of nature, the rolling tires and Ryan.
Thanks!! Nature creates the best music
Thanks for watching this again!! Loved putting together the long version.
13:58 I really miss watching Sakic and Forsberg play together for the Avs. Good times.
I loved those days! Forsberg was my fave
I’m so glad that you got to virtually experience the trail, it’s so incredible
Awesome video, just amazing seeing all of that. I just bought my first bikpacking bike and all the attachments for it to go do my first trip this summer. I will be biting off a much smaller chunk than that kind of ride and will be just going North to South across my home state of Indiana.
FUN!! Have a great time, and enjoy those fireflies!
I have done this trail a few times, and all this Footage together is JUST AWESOME Ryan !!!! ( I've seen EVERY episode) YOU are AWESOME !!!!!
Thanks Mike! I really appreciate your comment. It's SUCH a beautiful trail
RYYYYYAANNN..
I LOVE YOUU MAN. Your are the one of the few people I look up to and I dont look up to anyone! I hope one day I get to see you on the trail and get to meet you, even though im from Canada haha
Awww!! Thanks for the kind words. And who knows, maybe I’ll pop out of the woods in your area someday. Hope it’s warming up for you.
@@duzer Yes if I ever go on these bike packing trails that is haha. I would be willing to tag along if you ever needed some company haha
Man you are so positive person! I love watching your movies. And I’m so amazed how nice trails you guys have in US. Greetings from Poland 🇵🇱 🤘🏻
Thanks! Very fortunate to have these trails in my backyard
Okay Mr Ryan I did it I'm out doing what I want to do which is bike packing touring across the country and loving every minute of it ty for inspiring me
This might be the coolest, most real mountain biking video/MOVIE I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing this adventure.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was an epic experience
Love the sound of tires going over gravel on all the Aerial shots.
Tires on gravel is such a mesmerizing sound
Wow what a adventure! Unbelievable beautiful scenery!
Ryan your positive attitude is so addictive! Your videos really capture the pure fun of biking. I hope to run into you one day on the trail!
I hope to run into you someday as well!
Thank you, Ryan. A very inspiring movie. I have already done Sections 1-3 on a bike. This was helpful in planning which of the other segments I will do by bike and which I will hike. Thanks again for taking the time to create such professional work.
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your future adventures on the CT!
So... This ride was the straw that broke the camel's back? I can see why. Absolutely stunning scenery. Amazing cinimintograghy. Sorry about spelling. Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing this with us. 😉
Cinimintography is my favorite kind :) Thanks for watching!
Thanks Curt! Appreciate the kind words. Pikes Peak is a beaut!
I watched this whole video in one sitting and absolutely loved it !!!
But…….
Now I’m going thru the individual episodes and I like them even better if that’s possible :)
I like the extra detail, plus one cannot get too much of the Colorado mountains !
Thanks !!!!!!!
Well thanks!! I really appreciate your enthusiasm for this series. It was definitely one of my favorite adventures
I love how this guy say his thanks to a Tree for covering him 90%. thank you for your inspiring videos, i love riding my gravel bike too.
