My newborn sleeps better on his side than on his back. He gets startled too easily when placed on his back. I reckon it's because I slept on my side throughout my pregnancy, and during my last trimester, I could feel his bum through my belly, he laid on his side in my womb. 😅 I thought his bum was his head 😂 I was so afraid that he didn't engage properly. He sleeps better in my embrace when I breastfeed him too. He tries to push up and out with his legs when I put him on tummy time over my chest. He might've rolled over once or twice when i had him on his side. He's 13 days old now. I just love him soooooooooo much. I love watching him grow into his own person.❤
Oh, the baby is beautiful sweet little girl!! And the baby coach is wonderful, she’s the first I’ve heard about babies being on their sides. I put my boys on their sides too use a pillow to prop them up for a while.❤❤❤
Thx! Check our most recent video, it’s also about tummy time and how to improve it. In the next weeks we will be launching more, specifically on this topic and for different age groups. From 2 to 6 month old :) Good luck with the tummy time 🌞
How do you keep your baby on the side my 2-month-old was spitting up and I always leave him on his back to sleep the formula was coming out of his mouth and he was choking I picked him up so fast and he threw up all on the floor see what I had my other two boys my 28 year old and 20 year old at that time it was okay to put them on his stomach but now you have to lay them on the back if I wasn't in the room with my baby it was no way for the formula to come out because he was laying on his back he would have probably drowned in suffocated on his own throw up
@user-qq5go2wp5u my baby also did this, i put her on the side with a rolled up toqel behind her back. We also cosleep so that helps shes always close so i can hear what shes doing.
@@Kimiah-r7dI'm sure you have your reasons for choosing formula, but it is much less digestible than breast milk. Is there any way you can source breast milk, perhaps through hospital donations? And regarding the bed, look for a bassinet with the option to adjust tilt for reflux babies (also talk to your doctor about the possibility of reflux)
You Can get a pillow designed to lay your baby on the side safely during nap and night time. I use it on my son he is now 4 Month old and benefits greatly from it. He sleeps well and it helps his neck tention and keeps his back head from getting flat also
My newborn has been rolling over onto her side to sleep all on her own she prefers it to being on her back. She rolls herself over again onto her back after a while it’s super cute and yes I always monitor her cause as a ftm I’m paranoid of something happening to her
Tummy time is to prevent your child from having FLAT heads. In the Philippines , men have flat heads because their mothers do not practice tummy time . For girls or women, their long hair make their flat heads camouflaged.
It's for neck strength and arm strength. Being able to lift head up once they start rolling and need to prevent suffocation. Head shape is more genetic
@0RiCeBuBbLeZ0 if an infant is left to lay in the supine possession frequently, the back of their heads will flatten. Genetics won't keep this from happening.
It would be great for about a minute or two, but if the baby enjoys it, let them stay longer. There is no way to overdo it. If you can exercise 1-2 times a day, in a playful way, that would be more than enough. Here are fresh videos for 3-4 month children th-cam.com/video/a5__0Cn45Bc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nJZpoeWx3wZe-9qo
My kid's daughter said it's better for him to sleep on his back but he sleeps so much better on his stomach or his side and my breast milk is not coming in all the way I guess because I'm 40 years old. I'm older this time with this pregnancy but when my 28-year-old and my 20-year-old it was just fine. But anyway I have to do the formula milk and he gets so gassy and irritable. So now I know how to get the gas and help him. Thank you for sharing
I dont why...but my baby started to sleep on her side from her 3rd day of life to till date without any problems and she always sleeps on her side only..
You can start as early as 1 month old. Soon we will have a new series with the babies who are 2 months old, where Regina will share how to improve tummy time.

I don’t know about an infant; but sleeping on the side as an adult is not good for your back, pelvic area and spine. EDIT: I want to correct myself, after speaking with my pediatrician, they did confirm there’s great benefits for an infant to sleep on their sides during the developmental stage. Training to sleep on the side at early stage doesn’t mean they will sleep the rest of their lives on their sides. It’s important to have side sleep early age time to time. As an adult, it’s always recommended to be on your back rather than side. If you sleep on your side most of your adult life there will be curvatures and imbalances to the spine. A good mattress will help, but never as good as sleeping on back.
My chiropractor says for adults, the healthiest way is to sleep on the back and side. Assuming a person has the proper pillow and mattress, which I think is super important.

Tummy time is important because it helps babies develop strong neck, shoulder, and back muscles, crucial for motor skills like rolling, sitting, and crawling. It also promotes healthy brain and sensory development by encouraging movement and exploration.
Now, we have many devices, like car chairs and swings, that actually restrict movement and exploration; before, babies spent lots of time on surfaces that did not restrict movement so much, thus learning to roll by themselves.
I've heard it's good to put it on its side and then strap it down so it sleeps like that ,and then after an hour, turn it on the other side then strap it down again..
Um, I don't know, maybe don't force it on them?? This silly thing called "tummy time" is supposed to naturally coincide with breastfeeding in the laid-back nursing position and is NOT FORCED. Put your newborn baby on your chest skin-to-skin and watch them find your nipple with their eyes closed. It's amazing!! They can do it with no help and will get a great, deep latch by themselves! They will naturally build the muscles to find your nipple as they do this multiple times a day when you nurse. This lets your baby blossom as they are doing what they're supposed to do. There is also a REWARD for their efforts. MILK!! LIFE!! So this whole forced tummy time thing is a complete waste of time and gives no reward to your baby, while also robbing them of much-needed skin-to-skin contact. This is why babies notoriously dislike being on their bellies. What should be promoted instead of "tummy time" is lactation support that is FREE, so that moms aren't giving up on breastfeeding. I say this because I have a real hunch that the people who do "tummy time" are people who feed their babies formula or breastmilk primarily from a bottle. "Tummy time" wouldn't even be a thing if infants were on their mother's chests during feedings.
Breastfeeding is an amazing thing and we have lots of info on how to promote it, including interviews with jack Newman and Nancy Mohbacher whose influence in promoting breastfeeding is hard to overestimate. Skin to skin is very important and promotes healthy motor development. Though tummy time is not a forced activity, many children including exclusively breastfed are spending lots of their time in chairs, on the back or half seated, this not allows them to develop needed muscles and balance.

Why this tummy is that much important....pls explain anyone?
Tummy time is important because it helps babies develop strong neck, shoulder, and back muscles, crucial for motor skills like rolling, sitting, and crawling. It also promotes healthy brain and sensory development by encouraging movement and exploration.
Gee..... I just have to wonder how babies EVER learned to roll around and sleep on their sides, without us to do these exercises with them.
Now, we have many devices, like car chairs and swings, that actually restrict movement and exploration; before, babies spent lots of time on surfaces that did not restrict movement so much, thus learning to roll by themselves.
