Had my TJ for several years, passenger side headlight just went out. Watching this video before I replace with new one. Thanks for sharing this "how to" video.
I just came across this video on Tuesday 10-22-19. My headlight burned out on my 2001 Jeep Wrangler. I went to Auto Zone on Wednesday 10-23-19 and bought 2 headlights. Thanks to this video I changed them both myself! The shop wanted a minimum 1hr of labor which was $100.00. Plus the cost of the parts so approximately $150 (maybe more), to change my headlights. I paid $48.00 for the upgraded brighter headlights and that’s it. It was super easy all thanks to this video. Thank you so much for the in depth instructions and info!
Thanks for posting the video. It helped with the install but also put me on to the same headlights, which seemed to be one of the few replacements with good ratings that I saw.
From the UK. I Have Wrangler 2001 TJ. Just to say you can access the light bulb from the inside back of the headlight, with out removing it. Pull the lead out and then rubber surround, fish old bulb out. Put the new bulb back on the lead, between the rubber surround. Now push it all back in. You could probably get the rubber out with buld still attached to the lead be easyer. Usual thing, don't touch the actual bulb with bear fingers. Wear rubber gloves. That access, UK Jeeps only maybe. Cheers.
“Replace both if one goes out” comment I’d imagine. Do you do this in your house when a light goes out? lol. Tutorial great! Recommending replacing both not so much. I’ve had my other light for over a year after replacing the out one.
thanks for the video! to lazy to figure it out. only thing I'd add is a telescoping magnet.. I dropped a few putting new ones in. There's a nice pocket under the bulb to catch them but you can't get your fingers in there lol
Amazingly this is the only job I've ever done on my Jeep that I didn't drop a single screw. I had 14 opportunities (really 28 since each one had to be taken out and then put back in) and DIDN'T. DROP. A. SINGLE. ONE!!! Yes I do want a cookie. But you're right, telescoping magnet has been a lifesaver for 99.9% of my Jeep repair jobs (except for, as mentioned, this one!)
I got new headlights for my tj. Your video helped but having issue. My old lights had the screw brackets built in to them. New ones is like your video. So now i need the retainer rings to hold the light in its place. Do you have any idea where i can buy those?
HELP! I have a 97 Wrangler. My hazards light come on by themselves. I can hear the clicking but the lights don’t illuminate on the dash. Sometimes if I gentler wiggle the turn signal lever it seems to turn off the hazards.
are the screws that hold bezel the same size (thickness and depth) as the one that hold the light in place ? I need to buy replacement screws and see some for sale for the bezel but not the light part. can I used the same screws as for the bezel for the light? thx
They are different sizes. If you have at least one of each kind of screw you need, just take them to your local hardware store. They can usually match them identically.
If this guy could go ahead and explain everything about life as esially and thoroughly as he did in this video then that would great.
Yes!!! Ha!
I am a car noob and you explained this so thorough that i literally have no excuse to mess it up . Thank you very much buddy!

maybe if you drove better it would have lasted longer

thank you so much...just makes everything go smoother to watch beforehand. great reminder that i would need my torx screwdriver too.
Thank you so much! I installed mine myself instead of waiting for my husband to find time!!!!
Haha :) Great job!
Thank you

Just a tip- the left side and the right side trim pieces I believe are different so don't mix them up as it makes it hard to align back up.
Excellent point!
Great video, thanks!
Also gotta say your front end paint looks mint! I know it's a 7 year old video now, but I hope you still keep it that way!

Great vid high quality. It can be tricky if you have a grill guard but once you get the angles it's easy. Took me about 20 min.
Why on Earth would someone downvote this?

Doing this on my 05 LJ tomorrow. Thank you for the video! Also your paint is so clean 👍😭
This guy is working on his Jeep while wearing a Rolex. I respect that.
Just had a light go out on my ‘03, huge help.
Magnetic trays are so great to avoid losing bolts 😉
Thank you for this guide! You covered everything nicely!
Got to love the star nuts. Thanks for the video
this guy needs to explain to me life lessons just like this

Aaron Zerbin I dropped one and I don’t know where it went RIP
So how do you adjust the lights if they are aiming high or low?
Thank you for the video! Keep up the good work!
Love your video! Two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for video! Very helpful!

Thank you for sharing; You did it correctly; but the lights are not LED. 😅🙁
Any one who says the chrome trim Bezel on the headlights is a “nice finish” is someone I don’t want to know.
but its semi more functional than having it be like matte black or something, because the chrome at least reflects light
Should you unplug the red terminal on the battery before installing new headlights? Even if they are LED plug and play headlights?
No. Just turn the light switch off and there won't be any power going to that area.
