I love your shows guys I think the reason that you both compliment each other’s playing is Lee plays from the heart, Pete plays a more technical from the head.. together are freakin awesome 👏
My wife bought an Affinity Jag bass as a 2nd for her Fender Mustang just as a play around fun thing because it was so affordable. It is so nice for the money and the nicest piece of Laurel I've ever seen on a guitar. It easily would pass for rosewood and the entire guitar had a perfect fit and finish. A new Duncan pickup and a himass bridge and she uses it nearly as much as her much more expensive Mustang now.
What a pleasure it ALWAYS is to see Sweet Danish Pete with the Lovely Captain too. It's like "Heaven" with guitar gear no less. Thank You Pete for giving us your best every time.
Considering a large chunk of my collection of guitars are squiers - hearing you say about them being the brand for people exploring the world of guitars just validated all of my purchases 😂 granted i don’t own any affinity ones (classic vibe, a paranormal and 2 of the 40th anniversary editions) but they are a decent brand when money is tight but the GAS is real My starcaster especially is one of my favourite purchases

You can play along with virtually and sing and watch the music video / chords. It has a 50% and 80% speed option (with non pitch variance) snd you can loop a section when you’re trying to learn it. I’ve had one since Christmas and rarely fire up my Fender tube amps and rather extensive pedal board. It’s just an amazing little gadget with super high fidelity sound. I should also mention I’m about to turn 62 and gave played since I was 10! Through that time, I’ve ended countless practice amps and nothing compares to this Spark Mini. Greatness.
Stunning intro playing by The Captain. The bronze metallic color of that Jag is also stunning. That color should be available on more models and lines. Very cool. Squier knocking it out of the park again.

Didn’t even realize that the Strat was short scale. That’s a great idea and I can see a lot of people going for it regardless of whether they are kids or adults. HSS and a two point trem, lower weight, slinkier feel, same great Strat looks and sound! What’s not to like? It’s only junior in dimensions but not features or playability. This might be another GAS impulse purchase😂.
Suiers are getting better but the Starcaster I bought in 2001 needed the fret sprouts addressed as soon as I got it home. I also filed the fret sprouts, put 10-46 strings, & oiled the fretboard on my student's Affinity Stratocaster earlier this year while he was away. I don't know enough to work on the electronics, but they could use an upgrade on 2 of my students' Affinity Stratocaster.
Pro Tip for HS, SH or HSS guitars (or any other guitar where 2 pickups that require different pot values to sound balanced without modifying your amp setup share volume pot or pots in general). Use 500k pots and run a 250k resistor from the single coil pickups to ground so they "see" 250 pots instead. In that way each pickup somehow "sees" the "correct" (correct in so far as it is somehow standardised) pot value for that pickup and they sound waaaay more balanced. Probably the most convenient place is to wire it from is the pickup "in" at the selector switch to ground. As far as tone cap value, it is also different from factory for most single vs hummbucker cases but you can definitely get away with the HB cap value (normally .022uF) and even lower like .015 as normal .047 caps in strats and teles make them sound dull anyways (the cap value states from what frecuency treble starts to roll off and the pot value in what way, so a higher cap value just cuts off more trebble but can be less usable as it is harder to find a good sounding spot without it sounding like your guitar si under water, I guess it will depend on the taper style of your tone pot as well...).
They all sound and look great. Pete certainly helps with that! You too are quite entertaining together and remind me Not to partner up for charades "leverage".

Who would have thought that the combination of an HSS Strat with the 23” scale would produce such a pleasing, rounded tone? I dig the red Tele as well- definite G&L Bluesboy vibe going on with that one.

Brian May Red Special has a 24" scale length with 24 frets (and he is tuned to E standard). I'm surprised that more companies haven't incorporated it into their guitars.

I don't get the hate for the 24" scale length. It's common on Fender offsets and Brian May's Red Special is 24". If it's good enough for Mr. May it's good enough for the rest of us.
Totally agree! There is really nothing wrong with a 24 inch scale length guitar. They can do everything that a standard scale guitar can do and sound just as full and big. If anything there should be more scale length options available. No need to limit Strats and Teles to just 25.5. And they aren’t just for kids and hobbits. Even though I like m standard scale length guitars, I also play Mustangs, Jags, LPs, and SGs and there are many of us that like the lighter weight and more agile dimensions of guitars with compact body sizes and necks that don’t feel like you are stretching to reach the end of a broomstick.
