    Great video and walkthrough but I could barley hear you over the music. I would’ve enjoyed the video more if the music was quieter and your voice audio was louder

    Thanks for sharing. Was in the process of installing my ditch lights when I realized that my wiring harness is different from yours. Can you share which harness you used? I have SKU: 640117. Thanks.

    Looking at similar setup to my Rav4/2016 with some Baja Squadrons, could I do everything the same as show here; set everything up wiring, mount the lights, then plug in everything using the Baja supplied wiring W/o a relay, then power everything up?

    Did you have to cut, trim, or melt any of the plastic on the passenger side to make it fit properly???

    As far as I know you need a relay. I did the same exact install with Raptor lights and you must have a relay if you use a OEM style switch. Same goes for ditch lights. If you did not end up using one, I want to know how bc our wiring is exactly the same and I blew my first switch bc it did not have a relay at first.

    • @sponsoredbywifey
      @sponsoredbywifey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve installed many without using a relay. Most lights used for ditch lights don’t have a relay in the provided wire harness. If it does come with a relay, then of course I would use it. I wire it the same as the toggle switch but with the oem switch, there’s an extra wire that is used to illuminate the switch. Most customers don’t want that connected so I leave it alone. It will only illuminate when switch is turned on.

    • @terryperry838
      @terryperry838 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sponsoredbywifey right. My first OEM but aftermarket switch blew out bc I didnt have a relay in line. Just my experience. Im curious how you wired it no to blow the switch tho. I orig had my raptor light switch to only illuminate when the switch was engaged, but now I add-a-fused it into my fuse panel and now half it lights up when the instrument cluster lights come on, and the other half once engaged.

      @sponsoredbywifey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@terryperry838 green wire connect to battery with inline fuse. Red wire next to it goes directly to lights. Skip the next red used for illumination. Black is ground. Maybe you got a short somewhere?

    • @terryperry838
      @terryperry838 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sponsoredbywifey its possible about the short I guess but once I replaced the switch, its been fine since. Yet, when I did my ditch lights last weekend, for some reason the led inside the switch either burnt out or??.... bc its not working. New switch on its way.

    I was told that with the OEM switch you need to use a wiring harness with a relay, which Baja Designs doesn't have, but I see you used the stock wiring harness from Baja. Does a relay just enable the switch to be lit up while not on or is that statement just false?

    • @sponsoredbywifey
      @sponsoredbywifey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You do not need a wiring harness with a relay. I use the wire harness it comes with but cut off the switch and replace it with the oem style switch. Most oem style switches has 4 wires coming out of it. 1- wire to battery 2- wire to light 3- wire to illumination 4- ground. Wire 3 I usually do not connect.

    • @terryperry838
      @terryperry838 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you tell me what wires you connected to what wires? The 3 baja design wires to what wires on the push switch?

    • @terryperry838
      @terryperry838 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      usually the green goes to battery +, the black to ground, and the red stripped wire closest to the green wire, goes to the relay

    • @sponsoredbywifey

      I don’t connect the wire for illumination. Most customers want it to light up only when the switch is on.

    Really interested in seeing you do this, but this was worse than Blaire Witch Project. Truly... consider buying a small flex leg tripod and set it up instead of trying to work with one hand. It will make the user experience so much better to watch.
