@@PatrickRemington I got it with front end collision (basically just plastic bumper damage) so I'm currently working on getting a winch bumper made and light solutions. The roof rack is similar in design from factory as the 4runner so I'm going to try and get a rack built like yours (just gotta work around the sunroof) and add some basic rock sliders, then it's on to lift kit and bigger wheels and tires. Just kinda all the basics needed to really do some overland camping for now. Long term I'll go engine swap and solid axle with lockers along with a body lift and step up tire size again. Somewhere in there get some on board air and dual battery setup. It's my daily so I'm not looking to gut the interior, but still deciding on either roof top tent or like an annex off the hatch to camp in the interior. Lots of decisions along the way. It's currently pretty much stock besides some spot lights, tires, high output alternator, and a roof basket. Few trips I've had it on in the Washington mountains it's done great though. Definitely on par or better than the typical Tacoma's or jeeps I go out with as far as off-road capability goes. Only place it lacks is aftermarket support.

I do not need ditch light brackets and do not have a toyota at all. However, having watched several of your other vids on fabricating, which ill likely use for a rack system on my truck, i have learned a tremendous amount from watching. I think ill be able to use those tips for other fabrication in the future.
Thanks for the great content you produce. I know it takes a lot of extra work to film and edit, but I find it very valuable.

Will be adapting this to my 5th gen.
I'll be utilizing C.A.D. (cardboard assisted design) for mockup.

Hello, starting following you great videos. I don’t have a 4runner, I have a Honda Element car camper, I’ve been wanting to add lights to the front area. I found this video very helpful.

ah yea - no lights - no 3rd gen - stayed till the end MOSTLY to see if you'd figure out the over/under hinge mounting!! haha what a relief that you did!
Thanks for the inspiration while building out my '97 suburban overlander

I ordered the mp 200 from yes weld kick starter campaign an am looking forward to using this idea to build some light mount for my truck
also your attention to detail in the end took this project form "did you make that ?" to "where did you buy that ? "

Just as I was going to comment on the placement of the bracket between the hinge and hood, you corrected it. Glad I finished the video even if I have a Ranger. Could be handy if I ever "think I need ditch lights". lol.

Lol I was actually looking for diy mounting brackets for a diy linear actuator I'm making, :( but having no luck. I watched til the end for any tips/tricks ideas, I don't have a 4runner (Lol, but do have a Laredo.), don't intend on making ditch lights brackets, but enjoyed the diy info in case I ever need similar brackets (which could happen, ALWAYS DIYING.)...

Patrick, I absolutely love your videos. Your work is professional quality yet all diy; gives you that "I can do this" feeling... very inspirational.
And no 4Runner here, just an awesome Ford E350 for outdoor adventures with my son!

@@PatrickRemington I've yet to do a single one of your videos that suck, and I've seen a lot of your videos. Many of us have seen most of your videos and I'll often watch your videos completely unrelated to my life simply because you have great ideas.
And don't worry bud, even if a video sucks by your standards, we understand that everyone has off days. Not even machines run at 100%. Well, except Toyotas 😂
Keep up the good work and most importantly, make sure you're having fun doing it.

So I dont have a 3rd Gen, but I do have a WK2 Grand Cherokee and the only place I see ditch light mounts has them back ordered. So I have been wanting to fab some but was worried bc I dont have a metal brake or anything to bend thick metal. Your video gave me that notching idea and I will probably be looking at doing the in the next few weeks. Great video and very informative.
