I like the black + green color screen, looks even cooler with the green led on top! I was thinking of going black/red but I think matching that green led is the way to go.

To me it's a little too risky. Now I have some ability, but I took apart a cheap one and it took me 7 tries to get it to together properly again. Also I've had enough problems with these apart from tinkering so if I buy one I'll just be satisfied with the colors even though I think a lot of them should come in red or even yellow. Well there are a few in blue which I like ,but it may take time to adjust our thinking to just leave well enough alone. However if you're very handy you may want to try it, but even for those there is risk of damaging the unit.
I would absolutely throw on Onion OS if you have the ability to. The stock OS works fine, but the purpose build OS Onion makes saving states easier, cleans up the layout so it’s easier to navigate, PLUS my favorite part is OTA updates using that Wi-Fi. Worth it 100% 🤘🏼
I play mine for about 6-8 hours straight and it’s hold up fine! Of course it’ll depend on which system you’re emulating but it’ll last all day for sure 🤘🏼
