I wish you had picked up the rabbit head casserole. It was made to look like an 18th century game pie dish which was made to look like a real game pie of the time, complete with decorative raised crust. I agree that the rabbit head peeking out is a bit off-putting, but it is very true to the look of original, period dishes of this type.

It’s great that you were able to go back to a shop & have a positive experience vs. the last trip. They make a product called snow tex you can buy it at a craft store and dab it on any ceramic Christmas trees that have chips it looks like snow I have rescued and repaired you can also make your own snow paint adding flour to white acrylic paint and mixing till good consistency thanks as always for taking us along via our armchairs to thrift with you and friends🎄

8:45 a bit later than Nippon I reckon, the contemporary lines are more Showa period than Taisho. Probably 1940-1970's and unmarked. Kind of last part of the Satsuma era when modern designs and glazing techniques started to be phased in. How much do they want for it? I prefer the bowl with the hairline and the rounded vase with gilded handles tbh. If the four sided one were made by Kusube Yaichi and signed, I would def buy it for $195 ! It is a nice big one, you should make a profit and have enough change for a coffee lol. Good luck :-)

The thing with the Rabbit Head is probably for making Terrine (A kind of layered meat dish like a very fancy meatloaf.) Rabbit Terrine is delicious.
