Just had a neighbor find a hound deathly thin and needed surgery. He was abandoned in the desert with broken femur! This is all within a week. They have adopted him. He is home with them recovering. I have to thanks them, but without our Nextdoor they would of paid for it all! This made my Christmas!
Re: The restaurant dishware with the Temple Beth El insignia. Every big Temple has its own catering service. Apparently this is a plate from that temple with the Temple’s insignia.
"A jug of wine", has two well-known literary sources; As a housewarming gift, "Bread, that this house may never know hunger," they say. "Salt, that life may always have flavor. My friend and I were thrifting in CO and playing your praying hands game… a guy heard us and said something about it and then he said Crazy Lamp Lady? (my wife watches!) haha… you are famous way out here!
The restaurant plate is probably from Beth El Temple, not Bethel Temple. Beth El is a common name for a synagogue and was probably part of their dinnerware.
I have several of those glass flowers. You lay them down with a little water in them and put a flower in it. I usually keep a silk rose or two in mine.
01:35 Given that it's Hawaiian, that's gotta be a lei-and as you say, it's broken. 06:36 Must be from a synagogue. I suspect it might be from Temple Beth El in Harrisburg. A second candidate could be Temple Beth'El in Philadelphia. 12:58 It's defo missing its insides. I suspect it used to have either a music box or a battery-run light in it. 14:33 Early to middle 1970s for certain, since it's playing Cat Stevens.
Omg, I just got a hunting dog from the shelter! He was also abandoned! What in the world? He is the best dog ever. So loving and a really good listener (as long as he’s inside lol). Love the channel ❤️
Hi Jocelyn. You mentionyou have trouble getting the selo tape off have you tried soaking the things in not hot nor warm water but somewhere in between it might be easier for you to remove the tape and residue. Marie
Yup, they were popular back in the 70's and 80's. I can remember selling them at Reading China & Glass back in the day. I think Pilgrim Glass made some. They held just a little bit of water in the tube because of the curve.
Merry Christmas Jocelyn, Andrew, your children and the whole CLL team. Thank you for your videos, the content and making me smile everytime you upload a video. I appreciate the effort it takes and want to wish you well deserved rest over the holidays. Lots of love from the UK xxx
The Disney dish is vintage Houze Art out of Pt Marion, PA. My parents had that exact tray growing up. There are hundreds of different Houze Art trays. People collect them
You mentioned you look at items that turn out to be Pfaltzgraff a lot. This reminds me, I'm not into Pfaltzgraff, BUT they had a Christmas pattern of a set of dishes called Winterwood Green. They sold them around 5 years ago and apparently, they are discontinued. But that pattern is one of the most charming sets of Christmas china I have seen. They were green with sparrows and holy on them. So superb and captivating. I usually prefer antique and collectable items 99% the items I see, but this set of china was one acceptation.
Maybe try using a blow dryer to heat the tape up to reactivate the sticky so it will come off easier and maybe not cause damage or soaking in hot soapy water to remove it also is an option. Worth a try on a piece that is pretty like that one was that you left. And I have also heard of using essential oils to remove it as well.
In East Tennessee our Goodwills have 55 and up 15% off Mondays, and every week a different color tag barb has half off..AND they give you a green card that gets stamped every time you spend $15. When all 10 are stamped you get %15 off a $30 purchase!
When I saw the birdhouse, I was screaming in my head, the birdhouse, the birdhouse, then you passed it up! Then, you got the birdhouse! Yeah Joselyn! You got the birdhouse! Made my day even if it was missing a piece! Easy fix though! All it needs is a little cover for the bottom! I think I saw the little clips that hold the cover in place! Hope you can fix it for your mom! Happy Holidays to you and the family!
When you use a hair dryer on the taped on portion, it just peals off without taking off the silver overlay. Years ago on your video, you always went through mugs. I’m curious, are they not worth it to buy anymore?
I noticed that mugs have become labor intensive as far as listing them the item specifics are ridiculous. I have stopped buying them for resale unless I know that they're special. I am curious if other sellers have this issue.
Ok Jocelyn I thought it before but I am now convinced after seeing this video you need to change your name from the Crazy Lamp Lady to the Crazy Cat Lady! Lol
Just a couple of questions 1. Why not the Angels? They’re already in styrofoam and you buy a lot of things that you say you can at least double your money 2. Do you list the cats separately or as a group? If you listed them separately but one person buys them all does that effect the shipping cost? Just curious, not criticizing, not a reseller. Just enjoy watching and learning
Oh my gosh! Jocelyn you left the glass tree on the shelf! I love glass trees and bottle brush trees this year! I'm glad though you did picked up those sushi dishes for Juliette! Anyway, you did find a lot of goodies today at Goodwill! Have a great party night with your team!!! Merry Christmas!!!
I have done well with Lillian Vernon vintage items. Here is a clip regarding her company: "Vernon sold her business for $60.5 million to Ripplewood Holdings, which took it private. She remained as honorary chairwoman until November 2006, when the company was sold to Sun Capital Partners. Since 2008, the Lillian Vernon Corporation has been owned by Current USA, a division of the Taylor Corporation."
🌺. IF YOU SEE GLASS BOTTLES OR BOTTLE TOPERS PLACE THEM IN YOUR WINDOWS. IF THE GLASS WAS MADE BEFORE 1900 IT WILL MOST LIKELY TURN AMBER WICH MEANS ITS OLDER GLASS. IF IT WAS MADE AFTER 1900 IT WILL TURN PURPLE & SOMETIMES LIGHT BLUE/TURQUOISE. I HAVE A GREAT BOOK ABOUT OLD BOTTLES. MY GRANDMA GAVE ME. SOME OF THE OLDEST COCA-COLA BOTTLES ARE VERY THIN ABOUT 7 INCHES TALL & REALLY TURQUOISE THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL.
Why doesn’t Goodwill use a shrink wrap machine to combine items? We constantly see items that were perfect ruined by their mistreatment, like using heavy box tape.
I saw in one of your videos that you passed up what looked like an Alabama clay egg. It is made in Alabama. Some of the pieces are worth quite a bit of money. The ones signed by Max are worth money.
I used to buy Lillian Vernon stuff in the 80s & 90s. They had some cute things…and then they would also sell a few racy/ tacky things too….more like what Spencer’s Gifts used to sell (are they still in business?)But overall, I liked their products, especially the decorative things and most of it was decently made. So if that music box is working and still in decent shape, it might be worth it. I haven’t looked it up to check prices lately as I rarely come across any of the brand.
Oh my gosh, I'm excited! I picked up that EXACT same glass lily with the gold embellishments the other day! It was so intriguing I couldn't resist. Now, for the life of me I can't figure out a single thing about it. Including how to describe it. Can't wait to see what you find out! Crossing fingers.
@@rhondaborders3452 Oh thank you! I kind of thought it was vase-ish (is that a word? lol) I couldn't find it on google lens, so I was feeling stumped. Hopefully CLL and crew will list it soon, which should give a more detailed description. Please post a comment if you figure out what it's called. Thanks again.
I picked up the same exact egg coddler for 25 cents at a community resale shop. Ask yourself who gets your money? Community resale shops that actually contribute to struggling communities exist. Research and support in wisdom. Donated items are never meant fund wealthy CEOs!
I dont want to be the hundreth person to say this but is the flower with the hole a plant feeder? You stick them in a plant and it the water goes to the botton straight away.. justca thought. X
I love your videos. I live abroad and we don’t have Goodwill. So I go shopping with you! The Goodwills that I am familiar with when I visited had mostly clothes only an island of shelves with home goods and paraphernalia.
Love you and your channel so much Jocelyn, it has helpedme so much during the pandemic. Knowing you rescued your dogs from hunters is the cherry on the top. 😍 I have a rescued hunting dog too FROM spain 🐕. Sending love to you and your family from England 🇬🇧 xxx
Hunters are by definition not animal lovers and often treat their dogs very badly. So, abandoned or not I'm very happy to hear that Jocelyn has given them a loving home.
Just an f.y.i. the glass flower is a vase. You should be able to lay it down w/ water in such a manor for a single flower. I've had clear glass ones. :)
I feel like the glass tree was not in the original box. I bought a bunch of those glass trees at Walmart in the 80s and 90s and I think it was just stored and donated in that box
I have so much stuff from Franklin Mint Rhett or do not know what to do with. My dad had numerous collections that I have not gotten rid of just yet. Not sure if I should keep them to sell or just get rid of them.
Just had a neighbor find a hound deathly thin and needed surgery. He was abandoned in the desert with broken femur! This is all within a week. They have adopted him. He is home with them recovering. Re: The restaurant dishware with the Temple Beth El insignia. Every big Temple has its own catering service.
Apparently this is a plate from that temple with the Temple’s insignia.

That glass flower is called a trumpet flower & they’re just for displaying, not an epergne.
Oh I almost thought it was one of those old car vases but it did look more contemporary.

Can't get over all the nice things ,the goodwill in my area has nothing good
Flower is a self water. Put it in a plant, put water in flower. Great Find
01:35 Given that it's Hawaiian, that's gotta be a lei-and as you say, it's broken.

Wow, thanks for this info. I am from Philadelphia and I would love to find that plate
The lily with gold could be a vase for a single rose or blossom. I have a frosted glass one.
A group of three or more cats is called a clowder. Well done, CLL! 💙
Collective nouns for animal groups can be so fun. A crash of rhinos...A suspicion of ravens...Worth googling for some entertainment.
a murder of crows
'A group of three or more cats is called a clowder.' The group can also be called a glaring.
I thought they were called a colony
The wood bunny bank caught my eye. It’s funny how sometimes something very simple can fascinate.
Omg, I just got a hunting dog from the shelter! He was also abandoned! What in the world? He is the best dog ever. So loving and a really good listener (as long as he’s inside lol). Love the channel ❤️
You have some crazy misconceptions about hunters, hounds and the character of true woodsman.
The flower with gold trim just lies on counter with a single stem or a few smaller stems... put a bit of water in first.
The glass flower is for floral displays You put a single flower with some water and lay it on its side.
I picked up that Parrot ornament the other day and put it down SPECIFICALLY HOPING YOU’D PICK IT UP!!! Yay! Glad you found it!
Hi Jocelyn. You mentionyou have trouble getting the selo tape off have you tried soaking the things in not hot nor warm water but somewhere in between it might be easier for you to remove the tape and residue. Marie
That flower is a vase for a single bloom & it lays flat on the table/mantle with the highest end up - I found a crystal one a few weeks ago.
They often have silver/silver plated stands.
Yup, they were popular back in the 70's and 80's. I can remember selling them at Reading China & Glass back in the day. I think Pilgrim Glass made some. They held just a little bit of water in the tube because of the curve.
The hibiscus flower looks lovely in this style vase.

Merry Christmas to the CLL team xoxoxo
I have found that if u soak the items with the packing tape in some hot water the tape will come off without damaging the item.

Yes lilian Vernon I bought one for my daughter in the 90s
Boiling water will remove tape without out damage.
My goodwill uses saran wrap and not tape. It makes it easy to come off and holds as good as tape with no damage

That Disney trinket tray looks like a Houze Glass piece. Very cool.

She picks them up sometimes if they are worth $20 +, I think.
Oh my gosh, that silver overlay piece is gorgeous!!! I guess I’m the only one left that still loves those pieces!😜
About the big angels - Member's Mark is from Sam's Club - like Costco, BJs, etc
Very nice pickings today- all unique.
Ok Jocelyn I thought it before but I am now convinced after seeing this video you need to change your name from the Crazy Lamp Lady to the Crazy Cat Lady! Lol
Love the parakeet for your tree ! So cute.
Always fun to see what treasures you can find at the Goodwill. Please Stay Safe, Happy And Healthy. Have A Wonderful Day
Definitely would have picked up that pink perfume bottle. The black one you picked is gorgeous 😍
I was hoping you would pick up the ballerina music box for your daughter. It’s so sweet.
Yes, it was Lomonosov porcelain factory
If you soaked the items that have packing tape in water it maybe easier to remove.
Just a couple of questions
1. Why not the Angels? They’re already in styrofoam and you buy a lot of things that you say you can at least double your money

My neighbor worked at Mayer China when she was young. Our Beaver Falls church kitchens are well stocked with Mayer China.

Those wide bottomed decanters are know as ships decanters
Did you grow up in a family that loved glass and antiques Jocelyn? You seem so young to have so much knowledge.
Can you use heat from a hair dryer to soften the tape and prevent paint/silver loss??
That’s playing “Dance Ballerina Dance” in case you were wondering 😁
Loved the glass cats and perfume bottles.

Thank you for going back around a little slower. Great finds today 😃
That canister without lid may be a wine bottle cooler.. you chill it and it keeps wine cool while at party or whatever
She said that exact thing while filming. 😀
Nice haul of glass pieces. I love pottery pieces. I use to go to Wingdale, NY many years ago, and they had glass blown flowers that I use to purchase.
That jewelry box was the exact same on I had as a child that my granddaughter now has! I had written all over the bottom of it.
Beth El Temple may be a synagogue
Probably especially cause there was a star of david
All good picks, the cats are lovely, I'm sure they'll sell quickly. Enjoy the party!
Shoulda picked up the egg coddler thing. They are fetching 30 plus.
And they're hard to find generally.
Seriously? I've got like 6 of them.😏
9:38 YES This is LOMONOSOV!!! Imperial Porcelain Factory, Saint Petersburg. Glad you are familiar with it!)))
I have the Homco horse. It decorated my bedroom when I was 12, so it's at least 30 years old. 🙂
I love that horse and I'm not a horsey person. Lol.

I'm surprised you don't have to wear a mask in stores.🤷 I wear mine at GW.
Maybe because they don’t really work. You have to have those very expensive ones
Regarding hunting dogs being abandoned- there are bad apples in every barrel. Sorry your dogs had to experience abandonment.

I want that WDW trinket dish. I found a DisneyLand one at my church rummage sale.
Thank you for sharing about the egg coddler.

The mini stoneware I believe is sold at Cracker Barrel Restaurants.
