I have to disagree with some of the other comments and say I believe this is an example of a great shave. The barber was very professional, used excellent hygiene, left the client with little to no irritation, and truly pampered the client. I would gladly get a shave from this guy.
He did get very close, it's just the camera's zoom was incredible so you see the hairs out of proportion long. When the camera zooms out to normal "face-to-face" distance, you can actually see it's a close shave. Keep in mind that dark hairs on pale skin are visible even under skin, and that's what the camera zoom makes you able to see.
He did a decent job. He didnt get close because he only went with the grain in certain areas. He also didnt do a second time over shave. I guess also they didnt want to make the video too long. What I personally do to make sure I get every single hair is i go with the grain first and then I go across the grain or against the grain if the client doesnt have sensitive skin. I give him marks for not skipping any steps as far as skin care. The only blunder I would say was before the moisturizer he should have used an astringent just to further protect the skin and remove bacteria and also if you nick a client you dont rub the cut and continue the service lol you have to clean it and stop the bleeding.
So a few things: 1)He doesn't consistently go with the grain with the first passing 2)He nicked him a few times above and below the lip 3)The shave isn't very close 4)He doesn't consistently fold the towel although he put emphasis on doing so (although I don't think it was completely necessary) The good thing is he is professional and very clean, and the service seems fairly pampering. The technique could use some work though. Even very inexpensive barbers do a good job at not cutting the client.
Clients skin and beard will always be different and a spot of blood is more often when a hair bulb has been ruptured and the blood supply leaked into and out of the shaft
ShanteRoxxane Shit happens. The only guys I’ve seen who “protest to much” about a small nick are the guys who can’t even shave themselves with Mach 5 safety razors but, hope a barber won’t nick him with straight razor. Lol
Excellent presentation and happy to see EUROMAX Blades is having the professional endorsements...acrosss the world."amazing shaving Experience" with Euromax Blades only
Did he really shave over a spot without adding more lather? I know I do that when I shave but if Im paying someone just to give me razorburns when I can just do it myself.
You could get a better shave and the same effect just by using olive oil. I use extra virgin unfiltered oil. It cleanses and tones my skin, hydrates like crazy, keeps wrinkles at bay, and gives you super smoothe shave. Finish with warm towel. I massage it in my face skin and beard.
Cut throat is not as close of a shave as a normal razor. That's why its better for your skin, and almost no irritation. I love them. Having said that, the barber should've done a second shave by the looks of it.
@@goodbyemr.anderson5065 I could be wrong, but I have been told that a straight razor gives you the closest, smoothest shave. I have never heard that it doesn't shave as close a "normal razor".
@@warblerab2955 Very true a real razor, but not many can pre the razor correctly. If you find one who can f/m keep them. It's an ART...pay attention to detail.
I thought this would be a good shave, but it's what I imagine how Supercuts haircuttery would give a shave. The Proraso barbers in Italy stomp this into the dirt!!
I mean, it’s not bad. Everyone is bagging on him but since I went there, the only barber that has never cut me is this bloke. I have a very difficult facial structure that results in cuts, which is expected with a complexed facial structure. But I thought it was good. Could have been better like my other barbers, but he got the job done trimming my beard, (note: trim not shave).
How many faces has that brush touched?! It would be kinda pricey to use a new brush every time. Perhaps there is a disinfecting process? I think it would be smart to bring your own.
Michigan Truther You might remember a time when men had their own shaving mugs at the shop-ha, but the barber had ONE RAZOR for all of them, The Cutthroat! When I think of that, compared to whose face the brush has touched I’m a lil relieved.
Nice video. The shave could have been a little closer and with no blood. The looks like he is very relaxed and thoroughly enjoying all of the attention he is receiving. I wish this video would have included a shampoo and haircut. Nice looking model!
Clients skin and beard will always be different and a spot of blood is more often when a hair bulb has been ruptured and the blood supply leaked into and out of the shaft
Barber just got kinda nervous and didn't do the worthy job, well, i shave my own and my mates' beard myself and believe me that'd be far better than this, no doubt this is more hygienic
The more pretentious the presentation, the poorer the shave. Ignore this video. Wash your face with warm water. Lather up with a shaving brush and shaving soap. Then shave doing 1, 2 or 3 passes, depending on how close you want to get and the sensitivity of your skin.
Not to mention shaving yourself is guaranteed to work better unless the barber is an absolute pro only focused on the shave. You know your skin and hair with what pressure you need to shave effectively, can stretch and angle your face and your razor in tandem to shave close comfortably without cutting yourself, plus use the shaving products that you know work well for you and your skin. Letting another person do that for you takes all of that out of your hands into a risky job that can and very likely will go wrong or not be done well. Barbers do not do many shaves today due to pretty much everyone home shaving so the chance of them being unprepared, out of practise or simply inexperienced of shaving someones face will be high, they are a novelty and are likely to be sold that way using novelty products and old fashioned tools to give the appearance of something special.

Heat, tension, angle. As I use disposable razors, the angle bit is not that important. Also as far as products are concerned, I feel less is best. I don’t use preshaves, aftershaves, moisturiser etc. I only use aftershave on my clothes. . Occasionally I might use Lucky Tiger aftershave liquid which doesn’t contain Alcohol.

I have to agree 👍

Hey mike Whalen you ever do time in North Dakota
?
I´m glad finally seeing a video of someone shaving a guy who has more than 0,5 - 1mm beard =)
He didn't get very close.
You can still see a lot of hair.
Yes, he didnt a good shave. I dont like

A self-praise 'Great Shave'.

Most barber used disposal blades on razer hygiene purpose
Like how he switches to a feather blade
Not blade….razor !
Great video and service.
The worst shave I’ve seen no care at all getting all the hairs out
Sorry to say ,but street barbers in India do a better job then this guy for a dollar

Hi, great shave....but I noticed you changed your razor half way through the shave without notifying us....why? Thanks!!
At 15:20 razor blade started looking dull.
Very very good
If you call that a British shave then it explains why all the nobleman were always pissed off and taxing the peasants.
Im British wtf is a British shave do Americans shave differently? I dont think they do
I don't think I've ever been to a barber wearing a tie, a vest and a dress shirt.
but shave so bad
Relaxing...of course 😴

Looks great. What would such a service cost?
Around £15-20 in the UK

If you know how to hold a razor 😉

Nice ✂️💈🔥
How did he do the left side of the mustache? Backhand?
very good
I'll stick with my '59 Super Speed red tip, or my Rockwell 6c.
Is he wearing ring on above gloves ????
Awesome
Those dots. ???

Being a barber I can wholeheartedly say that was the worst straight razor shave I've seen in a long time

You should be able to do a visual check and don’t need to put a edge up against anything that slightly blunts the edge
This isnt a tutorial this a demonstration and for us beginer is hard to understand anything
I got two cut throat razer keep them in a box to dangerous to us
I go to the Turkish barber
Anybody else notice he changed razors and didn't mention it?
We can see skin bleeding below lips
Clients skin and beard will always be different and a spot of blood is more often when a hair bulb has been ruptured and the blood supply leaked into and out of the shaft
Key to success is to go home, apply antiseptic to all the cuts and open a Mach 3 or similar razor and do it all over again.
The oldie nicked him loool 14:43
At 6:20 I thought the dude was gone lol ghostbusters
He spend too much time shaving and why he changed the razor and the guy looks uncomfortable
There is a few blood under lips and the barber wiped the blood many times
Euro max Japanese blade system.... British Barbers Association...have you heard of Sheffield steel ??
The Bloke wasn't bad but he should have done a full second pass for a BBS shave.
been shaving with a straight razor for a week.. gotta say, the Feather I picked up seems MUCH better than that one. Is that a parker?
25 mins most take to complete their bathing regimen
Why was this in my recommended and why did I watch the whole video
Dots gone how ?
Just ask the client to curl his lips
What's the name of the song please ? :)
Worst shaving ever 🎤🎧
Needless exaggeration of the process while forgetting the basics of shaving as a clear bleeding incised wound below the lower lip may be noted.

Trevor Studd O SHHHH
14:43 he is bleeding
I'll keep to my Dollar Shave Club
God dammit if he says "product" on more time...
😂😂😂😂 for real
''Try with Mach3 ...much better results ..''
He cut him also.....
For the face wash I use my shaving brush to work it in.
um tis um tis um tis DOT COM hahahaha

It didn't feel like a shave. Felt like a bit of a demonstration only.

This is a commercial not a shave. I use the blood of my enemies for aftershave. ^^
Hmmmmmm... seems a bit spotty
He was better with the stubble growth
The music isn’t so relaxing at all
His shaving is not good but this old man look very handsome
Nvm good service though!

The client got nicked just under his lip and he barber tried to wipe it off with his thumb
This is not a food shaving
Was gonna watch for ASMR purposes, but too much talking
Indian street barber is better than this guy.. Fast, smooth shave and get a free head massage after shaving...
Fuck that took forever
.
Personally I'd of kept the beard.
Verry good gerry and zorro bandaris collapsed
really a bad shaving! the blood is the proof
There will almost always be blood drawn when shaving cuz the hairs sometimes pushes the skin up. It was perfectly fine and didn't look mutilated.
