Thank you for addressing the blood. I'm not a Barber but I'm no stranger to shaving my beard with a straight razor and people always assume I cut myself when it's just the dry skin doing it's thing.
@@dawonfields7360I just started shaving no matter how little of beard I had... I always only had a chin beard. After that the hair started growing more and more and thicker and thicker on my whole face.
Another great video tutorial -very practical and useful information, especially in dealing with moles, spots and blemishes living as we do in this imperfect world. Other shaving videos don't seem to address this important issue -So thanks Jay
This is educational for barbers and I love it when it is satisfying to watch while we learn. Also thank you for growing the beard for showing proof(honesty) of how good the razor is.
I bumbled through my first cut-throat shave last night, now I'm looking on YT to improve my time and technique. I got 3 tiny blood dots shaving down from a 6 week beard and can I just say THANKS for the confidence boost saying that it's normal! Took me a damn hour though haha.
Nice shave. You were a little confusing with the voiceover several times saying you are shaving with the grain when clearly in the video you were shaving against the grain. Also you shaved both sides of his face downward with the grain. But the chin area you went straight up against the grain. In my experience it's always best to shave down with the grain on the first pass to get the initial growth off, then do a second pass against the grain on the clean skin. The small red dots of blood are pretty normal, not really a cut because they don't bleed like crazy and don't take forever to stop. I just call them small natural nicks that go away in about 10 minutes or so and just wipe your face with some water to get rid of any residual.
I've got a mole like that and I've cut it countless times. You always get the urge to press a little harder because its the only way to get a close shave.
You shouldn't have to press hard at all, a sharp blade will do all the work if you just touch it to your skin. Maybe you aren't using a good blade or it's gotten dull.
I agree - it's all about the prep. I wash my face with regular soap ( or somtimes an old puck of shaving soap that's lost its fragrance. Then, I've found that vegetable glycerine works best as a pre shave. (Rub it in real good !) For after shave I use Geo. Trumper Skin Food. It's expensive but it only takes 2 or 3 drops on wet hands. I kid you not. Soothing, non greasy, highly recommended ! Hopes this helps someone . Cheers !
Shaving makes you look 5 to 10 to up to 40 times younger (depending on your age) Myself i used to shave my beard completely off i looked like a 13 year old
Great video, I first bought your ez blade shaving gel about 3 years ago the bigger bottle when I made the switch from Walmart razors to straight razor. For personal use, It barely ran out this month. A little goes a long way. It’s time for a restock and to try some of your other products. I am now trying to teach my girls nephew how to make the switch because he wants a cleaner shave. I am a little nervous to hand him a straight razor, in your professional opinion can your double edge safety razor cut just as clean? And accurate if he wants to line his mustache?
From man to child haha , I was thinking of shaving my beard after a long long time but this video showed my why I should not ! ( I also look like a child without a beard lol ) . The beard is like makeup for men xd
That's not a badger brush. Its a synthetic brush, which are much better in my opinion. And any good straight can shave a good blade, but i understand you're trying to make a buck. I don't blame ya
Not sure why anyone with such a great beard would shave it off, but regardless, your technique was awesome. Great job and well done.
Thanks for watching

Shavette/ straight razor, and open combs are the best for shaving long hair.
Well i grow a decent beard... But due to excess heat i like to be clean shave... Have to shave weekly... ☺☺
In my country we never use hot towel.could u share details about hot towel.i mean how many u keep when to change/wash.
Those blood dots are where he cut him. I get them too sometimes. I never grow out a beard.
I would’ve liked to have a good close shave 🪒 with the straight razor from any barbershops. 💈

How do you sanitize the brush in between clients??
I assign a badger brush to each client that gets a shave. They buy one. Thanks

so, I used a shavette....
The point of pulling the skin is that it makes the skin tight- so how is it easier to shave a chubby face? 😅

You called going down the face against the grain and vice versa, which is just incorrect
