My theory: Piglins and the ancient civilization were once allies, they went in the nether and met each other. At first they weren't aggressive, so they made a truce, piglins provide protection, and they build the bastions for them, but one critical mistake was made. The builders brought a zombie virus with them into the nether and they zombified the piglins, making them incredibly angry at them for obvious reasons, so they became hostile and hate the wither skeletons for obvious reasons. Nowadays piglins are desperate for gold because they think it may stop the virus, think about it, gold is obviously magical it cures villagers and makes golden food, so the piglins saw how the civilization used this and they use it in the hopes it will cure their race, with the ruined bastions being all they have left they use them to protect their sacred gold.

If the Nether-Fortresses Structure and Spawn-Conditions Matter, well: Then look at the Blazes! They only spawn there and they dont even just normally spawn there like Wither-Skeletons, but no, they have their own Spawner. There must be a reason for that. Well, I can connect all again. It could be that the nether wart, has a magic property of decay. Which explains why pigmen are half on decay. 1.6 came out on May 26th, 2011. 1.16, (aka the NETHER UPDATE) came out on June 23rd, 2020. And yes, I did go through the whole video before posting this. Tho with the pigs eating nether warts theory, it would explain why regular nether warts (not counting the blocks at all) can ONLY be found in nether fortresses.

"Why are they walking on two legs?" I think that the ancient people taught them how to do that. The way I thought about it was like this: They brought those pigs there and everything was fine at the start. Then the people started to notice that their pigs acted differently (not appearance but behavior). So they started to study them maybe they figured out that it was those nether warps that they were feeding them, so they started mixing or giving them different things to eat like glowstone (would explain their fire resistance) and other things that you can find in the nether / the normal world. And because of all these things those pigs were eating, their bodies started to change. I think that they taught them how to walk and the basics of fighting (and also not to be aggressive towards you / humans). They gave all of them a sword and used them as protection so that they wouldn't have to sacrifice their own people (or maybe to fight those Piglins). It would also explain why every single Pigman has a sword. I never found a Pigman that didn't have a sword. It's not that they found/took them after the ancient civilization left, but that the people gave those swords to them. (I doubt that ancient civilization left so many swords there.) Maybe it's dumb, but its the first thing that I thought of...

I think a more likely theory would be: The pig's are struck by lightning in the overworld and turn into pigmen, the humans then force all of them into the Nether in order to keep them out of the overworld and to banish them to a realm, out of sight out of mind.
in the theory about the wither, he says he thinks we, the player, are the wither just after thousands of years. and the wither is made up of the souls and skeletons of the ancient builders who died in the nether.
So the ancient world might have obtained a zombie disease, which explains the zombies, and Steve teleports through time which explains spawning into a world for the first time.
To explain the world creation, it is just a multi verse where the same ancient builder's existed having the same history and zombie disease, the nether and the end exist and behave the same same way as Steve's home universe, but the overworld can look different than the home universe. So basically Steve has a multiverse time machine.
Theory extension: The over world has some sort of zombie virus in the air and that charges up the lightning (which is a form of plasma) reacting with the pigs and transforming them into zombified bipedal versions of themselves. The nether on the other hand has a weak form of plasma floating through the air and when the pigs ate nether wart (the base ingredient for most potions) it with the souls required to grow it trigger a similar reaction creating the piglin.

Alright quick theory: the pigmen started to behave like humans becuase of the nether warts becuase they grow in SOUL SAND. As said in the last Minecraft theory the souls of the master builders are stuffed in the dang stuff

Yeah. Thats what I thought too. The fact that they are docile must mean that they have a semblance of sentience. The nether must have fused human skeletons and pigs. The question I only had was why the lightning can make pigs into pigmen.

Theory:
Since netherwart grows on soul sand, the Pigmen are partly eating souls. Since souls are kinda like ghosts and they used to be human, the tiny bit of conciousness left could be how the Pigmen have telepathy.
Maybe that’s how they can hold swords and walk on 2 legs

Yeah but it does seem kind strange that all the pieces are so well made and fit with each one and connect to so many other theories, I dont think that can be accidentally made Mojang must have thought every update and addition through they just didn't tell us about the lore because it was a survival game and no one would care but if we are finding lore in a world of mysteries then it becomes much more interesting

@@mimics9508 That seems like a reasonable question...Perhaps when one of the ancient builders discovered the pigs had become zombified piglins, he hit one to see if it was hostile. Not expecting the entire horde of the zombified piglins to start attacking him, he was defenceless and died. Perhaps the horse of pigs were stored in the soul sand valley, before there were any souls. Perhaps the zombified piglins killed every ancient builder that discovered them after the first.
But that’s just a theory, a GAME THEORY....

I think that the ancient people taught them how to do that. The way I thought about it was like this:
They brought those pigs there and everything was fine at the start. Then the people started to notice that their pigs acted differently (not appearance but behavior). So they started to study them maybe they figured out that it was those nether warps that they were feeding them, so they started mixing or giving them different things to eat like glowstone (would explain their fire resistance) and other things that you can find in the nether / the normal world. And because of all these things those pigs were eating, their bodies started to change. I think that they taught them how to walk and the basics of fighting (and also not to be aggressive towards you / humans). They gave all of them a sword and used them as protection so that they wouldn't have to sacrifice their own people (or maybe to fight those Piglins). It would also explain why every single Pigman has a sword. I never found a Pigman that didn't have a sword. It's not that they found/took them after the ancient civilization left, but that the people gave those swords to them. (I doubt that ancient civilization left so many swords there.)
Maybe it's dumb, but its the first thing that I thought of...

Maybe when the ancient builder’s society collapsed, that’s how we got ruined portals. It also explains like in this theory, the ancient builders brought in golden swords, which is why we only get golden swords in the chests

I think a more likely theory would be:
The pig's are struck by lightning in the overworld and turn into pigmen, the humans then force all of them into the Nether in order to keep them out of the overworld and to banish them to a realm, out of sight out of mind.

in the theory about the wither, he says he thinks we, the player, are the wither just after thousands of years. and the wither is made up of the souls and skeletons of the ancient builders who died in the nether.
So the ancient world might have obtained a zombie disease, which explains the zombies, and Steve teleports through time which explains spawning into a world for the first time.
To explain the world creation, it is just a multi verse where the same ancient builder's existed having the same history and zombie disease, the nether and the end exist and behave the same same way as Steve's home universe, but the overworld can look different than the home universe. So basically Steve has a multiverse time machine.

Theory extension: The over world has some sort of zombie virus in the air and that charges up the lightning (which is a form of plasma) reacting with the pigs and transforming them into zombified bipedal versions of themselves. The nether on the other hand has a weak form of plasma floating through the air and when the pigs ate nether wart (the base ingredient for most potions) it with the souls required to grow it trigger a similar reaction creating the piglin.
