I think the whole show isn’t Bluey happening in the present but the childhood the kids remember. It seems magical to them just as our childhoods seem to us. It’s not that there is magic it’s that the children recall their childhood experiences in these creative, fun, magical ways.
I agree; I think they DO pretend, but what we see is an exaggerated view of what happened, like you say, maybe due to it being a memory and a kid-like imagination.
This is true because Bandit moves when Chili plucks his hair, he stays in character for his kids but he still reacts to pain and clearly he’s trying to tell in a muffled voice that he doesn’t want Chili to pick one of his hairs off of him. But when it’s just bingos perspective she thought she saw a fairy and it’s just her imagination and how she perceives it as a kid.
True but one thing, when bingo does the magic wand mat pat skips the part where it does not work so she has to shout. That proves ether that is extreme pretending or magic isn’t always magical!!!
I'd never have thought in a million years that MatPat, one of the giants of the internet, would make one of his last 9 theories on Bluey, and Bluey being a witch of all things.
My thoughts on this: Considering that we've seen multiple glimpses of the future versions of Bluey, Bingo, Rusty, and many other characters, I've always felt that this series could in fact be a perpetual flashback, much like "How I Met Your Mother." What we're seeing in these episodes are not 100% factual events, but rather just how Bluey remembers them happening from when she was 7 years old. In her young memory, she believed that these magic moments actually happened, so we are seeing them from her perspective as if they did. In reality, her parents were always still super catering and accommodating to her and Bingo's imaginations, but a lot of the questionable moments are simply just Bluey remembering it wrong.
YES! IM THINKING THAT WAY TOO! Mostly what got me thinking that the show is a flashback, the episode Cricket! Bandit is telling a story to... Who? He doesn't have a reason to tell it to Bluey or Bingo. And as the audience we don't need to be told the story like this... But if he's babysitting blueys kids and telling them about this moment? That makes a lot more sense to me!
I haven't really seen the show so I could be missing something, but based on what I remember of myself as a kid, I doubt bluey would think all that stuff actually happened. Even when I was playing pretend, I was aware it was all pretend. Only thing I can think of is if the show isn't what bluey remembers, but instead is bluey's (or someone else's) kids' imagination as they hear the stories from someone else. So one of the characters is telling the story and the kids are filling in the gaps and the show is the stories as they see them.
I like that despite being comfortable playing with his kids and involving the neighbors he knows, Bandit is still nervous to play like that in front of dads that he doesn't know well

As a fellow parent of a 4 year old, I too love this show and watch it with my son all the time, and try to use lessons and examples from the show to make our shared experience of his childhood so much better. I am sure this was pointed out elsewhere, but there are also examples in the show where the people dont realize the game immediately and take a second to join in. For example (and I am pulling these from memory so I may be partially mis remembering) but in the heavy episode, when she first tries to heavy Bandit's breakfast, he first responds with a "what?" like he didnt actually hear, or register what Bingo said, and it was only when she said it again that he actually responded. Furthermore, while Bluey is great at playing into the games, Bingo can sometimes be a bit slow to join in. For example there is a part when Bandit gets the magic xylophone and freezes Bluey immediately, but he tries like 3 times to freeze Bingo and she just runs off and is never affected. I just watched the other episode you did on Bluey and you tried to address a lot of the counter examples, but I didnt see mention of them here. But for the above reasons, I think some of the things we see in the show that try to prove magic are just artistic intpretations, and I am team pretend games instead of team magic. TLDR, there are times when the magic just doesnt work, therefore I am team pretend games.
Pat is, without a doubt, the most chill neighbour you could ever hope to have, whether he's being attacked by imaginary animals, having his hat made heavy, or having his pie ripped out of his hands and all the sauce licked off it while he's walking down the street just minding his own business, he takes it in stride. Not just that, he's happy to help tear up a couple tree stumps, with his only retribution seemingly being his palm tree dropping branches in the Heeler's yard.
@@samandom8772 I mean, with everything we've seen MatPat do on the channel, it's not hard to see him rolling with Heeler shenanigans for the sake of the kids having fun.
And sadly, it will be the last. You also have the John Wick episode being about our titular assassin being a superhuman with super healing abilities like Wolverine and Deadpool, so we know our man is capable of finding fiction in a 'realistic' story. Miss the big man, I will..
Has anyone realized that bluey seems to have abnormal strength sometimes she seems to pick kids her size or bigger up with ease and carry them around like they’re toys and seems to never be tired or worn out when she does?
Honestly when I saw your "Bluey is dark" theory I originally thought it was gonna be about the weird magic stuff that the characters do in this series given how bizarre it seemed. My personal theory was that maybe because they're dogs they're just trained to respond accordingly to the games they play. Similar to how you can get a trained dog to sit simply by waving your hand The kids and presumably the parents have grown up playing make believe and using their imagination so it's naturally built into their instincts as time goes on. Before they eventually teach it to their children. And the children after that. And eventually it becomes completely normal in society for a random mom to start dancing in the street regardless of how road raged drivers will feel
Its very interesting how a childrens show intruiged many adults around the world The creators really catered to adult viewers in the sense of comedy. Its actually pretty funny. Love you MatPat. We're all going to miss you
Thank you so much for every single theory you’ve made. You have no idea how much we care about you and how much you’ve changed and influenced our lives. We’re gonna miss you, Matpat
I just like that they played the scene where Bingo tries to featherwand the cereal, and Bandit is oblivious and it takes three "HEAVY"s for Bandit to drop the cereal. Like it perfectly displays that they don't always go along with the game right away
Their is a giant thing you missed which is a HUGE theory in the community of Bluey. In the episode magic you talked about how mom can do magic, why, well there’s a reason for this. Mom, specifically her side of the family is related to fairies, we learn in the show that there is two types of magic, cheeky and good. The fairies are also described with, “cheeky or good” magic. Part of this theory is also that Mum is secretly a peace keeper in the world, and must pass her magic on to her kids. Also someone you didn’t put in the episode is Calypso. Calypso is said to be a very wise magic user and that is why she is so smart and in some episodes tells the future. I hope you look at this please
You reminded me, when Bluey was playing with a typewritter, she goes to listen to Calypso's story, as soon as it's finished she complains and decides she's going to write a better story. She goes back to the typewritter, and it's no longer there. By the end of the episode, we find out that Calypso was hidding it... but to do that without Bluey or anyone else noticing would have been imposible, unless Calypso just magicked the typewritter away.
Didn’t think I’d see studiojlamb comment on my comment, but yes I did learn it from you, sorry I didn’t mention that you started the theory. I’m a fan though
@@Papersproductions no, it's fine. A lot of what you said isn't isn't from my videos and Aussie Girl Margie was makeing theories long before i knew what a blue heeler was. granted i've never watched any of her theory videos but still.
Ollie graduating to Gravity Falls is the most fitting thing for a young theorist. I wish you all the best in your new chapter Matt and Stephanie. You will be missed but never forgotten ❤️
One of the most unique things about the show Bluey is that it holds as many lessons for the children as it does for the parents. It wasn’t something I noticed before watching this theory but the parents in the show create an environment of “magic” so realistic that the child viewers are captivated into believing exactly what Bluey and Bingo are seeing and the adult viewers are left low-key intimidated by how seriously the Heeler parents take the family games. But the lesson still stands- the show breaks down the hypothetical question “I could never take play time that far, what would the neighbors think?” And transforms that thought into “What are the actual sequences of engaging with my child in that way? The neighbors think we’re crazy? We end up late? I get stuck as a sheepdog?” The show is as incredibly introspective for the parents as it is for the kids, I think it’s why adults have an equally hard time not clicking Watch Next Episode lol
yes, this is so true very well put. I also find the moments like how at the post office for example and other small moments where they are apparently a nuisance to be fun actually, I think it's a lesson to people who would be upset in some of those situations to take a minute to enjoy the little things. when I see families in public who are able to have fun like that its very endearing and a few extra minutes in line aren't that much if it inspires you to enjoy things and take a breather from rushing everywhere.
There is an episode about bandit and his sibling being kids And he unintentionally tells his kids that the reason he goes far and beyond with his games is because his dad was distant
Id like to think that lucky's dad and wendy understand the shenanigans that the heelers play because they have children of their own, and with the children often playing together and them being neighbors who witness these games, they often join in understanding the importance of playing for children. Daddy drop off's message was literally "playing with your kids could affect them positively for their entire lives" Edit: what ever happened to calm discussion of a mutually liked topic? The whole point of this channel is dedicated to talking about and speculating on our favorite mediums. I have reported and deleted the hate comments, and i will do it again, please be repectful, we can talk about the theory without being hateful or trying to say we are better than matpat. Its just a theory
@UTTPOfficerRonaldoCR7I ASKED+MATPATS CONTENT IS WAY BETTER+MATPAT IS WAY BETTER THEN UTTP+I HOPE MATPAT RETURNS BUT ITS HIS CHOICE CAUSE HE HAS A LIFE TO FOCUS ON UNLIKE YOU
Love the theory! Also love the idea that these parents are so dedicated to keeping their children happy and the feeling of magic real in their lives that they overlook the inconveniences it can cause. Being late to school or making some people have to wait an extra 30 seconds in line while you dance is worth so little compared to the memories of fun and magic that can last a lifetime.
I have said that the most unrealistic part of the show is how willing all the adults are to play along with the shenanigans. I will point out that Bluey as a character is very devoted to following rules of games even the ones that she makes up as seen in the episode Shadowlands. So while he is right that the adults could absolutely stop if they really wanted to, the example with Bluey isn’t the most compelling as even if she could, she wouldn’t.
@UTTPOfficerRonaldoCR7 I KNOW YOU SO STOP YOU DO THIS TO @danno TOO, UTTP IS NEVER GOING TO BE BETTER THAN ALL OG TH-camRS! AND I ALSO KNOW FOR A MATTER IF FACT THAT YOU WORK FOR THE BOSS SO SHUT IT!
This is why I don’t watch the show much anymore. It’s frustrating as an adult to see everyone being put in danger or inconvenienced for different games. Even with Magic, as the MatPat said, this family would be insufferable to be around. I love Bluey, but I can’t watch much in one sitting without getting frustrated.
It is magic, the magic of imagination. I do think that chilli is the heart of it. It’s clear that she was raised with loving fun parents (like her dad running with the girls and hiding). The latest episodes added include one where chilli speaks about her late mom. How she encouraged her and helped her get better at drawing. I think her mom and dad played similar games with her and Brandi when they were kids before their mom passed away. Chilli grew up without a mom (it’s unclear when she dies but it’s after chili turns 7) She wants her girls to experience all the joys of childhood and to have an active imagination. Honestly one of the best parts of being a parent is making magic for your kids. Helps make up for when they are being terrors 😂 But I do have to say, nearly every episode I feel sorry for Wendy and Pat (lucky dad). They really get caught up in some crazy shenanigans.
Even though I may not watch matpat much, I still love his theories wherever I come across them. I love all the effort that is put into these videos, and you will forever have a place in our hearts! Thank you for all the years and effort you've put into these theories! ❤
I maintain that each episode is a memory of adult Bluey/Bingo/friend of theirs, looking back on a fun childhood and filling in/glossing over any sub-par moments.
I've always been convinced that Bluey is an all powerful being with superpowers. Some of the things her parents go along with are unbelievable. Bingo shares these powers I believe
MatPat, you have been a huge part of my life. Me and my brothers used to watch your theories when I was little and I still watch whenever I see one. You have made my childhood so much better and your videos helped me through the hard times in my life. Thank you. You will absolutely be missed. ❤️
I was always under the impression that the kids and parents have off-screen pre-game discussions for some games (and scenes.) Kinda explains how everyone knows the rules of the games they've never shown before ahead of time even when it would be impossible otherwise. While supporting cast jump in and play along you do see complete strangers react as you'd expect.
I have huge respect towards MatPat. he has served as a massive part of my childhood. I want to hug him. I knew that one day he would have to quit. I’m so proud of MatPat like I’ve seen him from some of the beginning. He is and was an inspiration and idol to me. I hope MatPat has a nice life off of TH-cam. I send my care and support to MatPat, Ollie, Stephanie and the team and I hope they all have a nice life
I did wonder how Bandit and Chili were so darn good at playing with their kids, to the point of doing solid animal impressions and performing acrobatic feats in some episodes.
I just want to say, in the episode magic, bluey whispers to bingo while telling her about magic, “pretend my arm can control your tail!” Proving how they’re using pretend magic.
I know whenever i watched the sow i remember always thinking how cool it was that the show was clever at using little ways to show the games were just games. They are very committed, but it does make a point to show it. For example, when he pulled up the sound ques to show the yip came after I was just like ok really reaching there it was clearly MEANT to be that even if it was a second off -_-
Hey guy's can you help me get a theory from matpat before he goes I've been asking for 4 years nows Guy's I already have the theories Mal is the original personality. Mike is the personality of Mal's good twin brother who died in car accident. "Mike" was recreated by his psychiatrist to bring Mike back to life inside Mal's body because their parents loved Mike and were scared of Mal. Mal was locked inside his own mind (that turned into Mike's mind). Chef's food has healing abbilities. He creared this food so he does not have to see other teenagers die. Why he care so much? because he killed a teenagrer in the past There are multiple Codys in DRAMRAMA. all of them are alien clones who were sent to the dramarama universe (throu the portal in area 51) to get rid of all the alien Cody clones after Sierra reeslesed them all. Chris has a secret daugther and he does not know about her. The daughter is Sierra
I like the theory, but there are somethings that I noticed, of the kids breaking the magic. 1: Episode 1 Season 1 (The Magic Xylophone) At 5:05 timestamp. Bandit tries to freeze Bingo but she runs away. 2: Episode 2 Season 2, (Featherwand) 1:53 Timestamp. Bingo tries to heavy Bandits cereal, but has to elaborate it a second time in order for him to start playing along. 3: Episode 49 Season 1. (Asparagus) At 1:19 Timestamp. Bluey tries to turn Bingo into a Warthog, and Bingo wants to be a piglet instead, and Bluey makes her a piglet. The Timestamps and Ep numbers are from Disney+, in the U.S. I'm not trying to start an argument or take away from your creditably, I just noticed these facts when watching.
I absolutely love love love the theory but also on a serious note I think the whole show is more likely interpreted as a recollection of childhood from an adult Bluey and or Bingo so in their recollection the antics from their games as children it feels so real in part because of how supportive their parents were of those games. Maybe, for example Chilli did dance during a crosswalk and maybe in reality she was moving forward at pace with the rest of the Heeler family but in Bingo and Bluey’s recollection she was so dedicated to making the magic feel real when they were young that she actively held up traffic.
Imagine if in the very last episode of this series, adult Bluey and Bingo just show up, revealing exactly what you said? That would be so bittersweet and awesome lol.
@@cironical it's not impossible, there are occasionally scenes involving older and even adult versions of the characters. For example: a presumably high school aged Bluey meets up with Jean Luc again, Lila and Bingo are besties all the way through high school graduation, Rusty becomes a very successful athlete. Further, season 3 explores more of the parents' backgrounds and how they remember their childhoods. We see how Bandit remembers a summer with his brothers when he was I think 10 ish and we see how Chilli's mom's kind guidance led to Chilli being encouraged to preserve at learning a new skill and becoming quite good at it. We also have a very touching moment where Chilli and her father reflect on their memories of her childhood.
@@cironical in a series absolutely filled with moments that make my wife and I cry it would really just put a magnificent ribbon on the series depending on how they approached it
Super happy that this theory got made. I've said this since watching the feather wand game episode. On top of all the other arguments you made, you didn't mention that Luck's Dad was affected by the feather wand near the end of the episode. He goes to tackle Bingo and she makes his hat heavy. Then he's still asking for help to get up near the end. He didn't HAVE to "play the game", but he did suffer from magic. I assume Wendy is just used to it, or knows of their magical influence, since she is friends with the family and Chili could have confided in her at some point over the years.
Nah bro you broke down crying cause of the "9 theories left" screen? Like, I get crying cause of the Matpat quitting video, that's really sad, but you just cried because of a screen with text? Please tell me you just commented that to get likes cause if not your to overdramatic to live. Disliked.

Your shows are something that have been a staple in my household while doing the most mondaine task and it will be missed. You have been with me through vital growth and I just want to let you know that your work and dedication is appreciated and will be missed!
I will say… Bluey is more realistic than my neighbors. LITERALLY. The neighborhood pool had a ring of dirt, wasn’t heated, the pool vacuum was never put in the pool, like ever, and it rarely got chlorinated. Yet whenever I put the vacuum in, they say, “Get it out, someone could get tangled!” I’m thinking to myself, “uhh, they can swim under the cord, around it, they could pass it under them, avoid it, walk around it… So many solutions…” but they, I guess, prefer the dirt pool that property management neglects. However, Bluey on the other hand… Bingo: “Dad, can you take that out of the pool?” Bandit: “It’s just cleaning it.” Honestly though! If only my neighbors had common sense, am I right?
Honestly, I think they are the worst people there and magic exists. Because like you said that Bluey’s mom knows more magic than they did so she can stop them, but what about the time in dance mode where she was forced to dance. She wasn’t forced to dance because she can just stop at any time because she knows more magic. So I think that the family is just going out and terrorizing people.
I’m glad you did another episode of bluey! Just yesterday, Disney plus released the last batch of episodes of season 3 and I loved every minute of it! Go watch those episodes with your family if you haven’t already. We are going to miss you friend 💙💙🐕
Bluey is absolutely magic ❤ when I first watched the first episode I truly had no idea if magic was meant to be real or not in the show! Either way, we can all agree that wendy and lucky's dad are legends. Mat Pat, you will be missed!
I’m surprised they didn’t mention the squash episode where the girls control their dad and uncle with remotes. The girls are sitting behind them and bluey forced her dad to lose against his will 😂
I've always loved that blurred line in kids shows- it shows kids whimsey and that magical things can happen without breaking reality. Bluey toes that line so beautifully well so this episode makes it even better!
Being a dad changed MatPat so much, but it’s so wholesome. I don’t think I would’ve ever watched a video about magic in a children’s show it it wasn’t for you.
One of my favourite subtleties of the show is when it hints that the characters just pick up on what's going on and run with it. Or in such explicit cases, don't pick up on it... Featherwand - Bingo: "Cereal Heavy!" *flourishes* Bandit: "Huh?" Bingo: "I said 'Cereal Heavy'!" *flourishes* Bandit: "Oof!" *mimes box's sudden descent*
I thought it was commitment. Cause if the magic xylophone episode Bandit freezes bluey and he repeatedly tries to freeze bingo but she is so nervous she completely ignores the rules and keeps running. If it where true magic it would apply. Second, on the feather episode when bingo says heavy to bandit holding the cereal he doesn't hear her at first and wonders what she said, after repeating herself then he starts playing
There was also the time in Magic where Bandit doesn't realize Bingo is trying to use magic on him, but then plays the bit when he realizes what's going on. Besides, they're dogs, they probably have better hearing then people.
I don't ascribe to this theory either, but it was very well thought out. And there are some "inconsistencies". That being said, I never got the impression that the neighbors are in any way not enjoying these games. The way Pat (Lucky's dad) runs at Bingo during the featherwand episode seems to imply that
This guy has no Rizz your content is nothing to matpat toxic hater I can see you are saying this on every comment who asked you have to stop ✋ you think your him 5 year old 🗿🍷

Bandit does have a projector to watch football though lol

Honestly when I saw your "Bluey is dark" theory I originally thought it was gonna be about the weird magic stuff that the characters do in this series given how bizarre it seemed. My personal theory was that maybe because they're dogs they're just trained to respond accordingly to the games they play. Similar to how you can get a trained dog to sit simply by waving your hand
The kids and presumably the parents have grown up playing make believe and using their imagination so it's naturally built into their instincts as time goes on.

I wonder where you learned all this...

There is an episode about bandit and his sibling being kids
And he unintentionally tells his kids that the reason he goes far and beyond with his games is because his dad was distant

Do you understand how upset people are about MatPat leaving? Don’t say that as people find real offense from that.
Helps make up for when they are being terrors 😂
But I do have to say, nearly every episode I feel sorry for Wendy and Pat (lucky dad). They really get caught up in some crazy shenanigans.

Also in Magic Xylophone Bandit does make some slight movements when he’s “frozen.”
Just counterpointing the leaf wand, Bandit could probably see her in the reflection of the car door or window, even if we the audience can’t see it.
Hear me out, he saw her run behind him and knew to start moving again because they play this game regularly

The Film Theory theme arrangement at the end really got me in the feels. Miss you already Mat.
Magic Asparagus
Bluey: Hedgehog!
Bingo: No, I wanna be a piglet!
Bluey: Piglet!
Take from that what you will.
Matpat was a part of all of our childhoods I can't believe he's retiring, but at least he'll get a rest ❤
One of my favourite subtleties of the show is when it hints that the characters just pick up on what's going on and run with it. Or in such explicit cases, don't pick up on it...
Featherwand -
Bingo: "Cereal Heavy!" *flourishes*
Bandit: "Huh?"
Bingo: "I said 'Cereal Heavy'!" *flourishes*
Bandit: "Oof!" *mimes box's sudden descent*
I thought it was commitment. Cause if the magic xylophone episode Bandit freezes bluey and he repeatedly tries to freeze bingo but she is so nervous she completely ignores the rules and keeps running. If it where true magic it would apply. Second, on the feather episode when bingo says heavy to bandit holding the cereal he doesn't hear her at first and wonders what she said, after repeating herself then he starts playing
There’s also one for "Magic Asparagus" in which Bluey tries to turn Bingo into something, but Bingo asks to be a piglet.
The way Pat (Lucky's dad) runs at Bingo during the featherwand episode seems to imply that
Also when Bandit was frozen in magic xylophone he did move a few times.
Thank you Matpat for everything. You never ruined my childhood, because you were my childhood
This guy has no Rizz your content is nothing to matpat toxic hater I can see you are saying this on every comment who asked you have to stop ✋ you think your him 5 year old 🗿🍷
Is it just me, or does bingo seem to be the real master of magic here. She uses it the most out of all of them.
She learns fast!
I know its a bit late for Christmas theories, but Matpat should make a theory on if Santa's sack of presents in The Polar Express would be large enough to carry all the presents to all the children in the world.
What
@@stanleypines3626its a christmas movie about a train called the polar express and near to the end we see santa flying with his sleigh and a massive sack of toys at the back 🫶🫶 its a great film :))
The new host could do that. Though any MatPat appearances after his retirement is more than welcome.
I can answer that: No. Not without magic.
WE DO NOT CARE + IM A WAY BETTER AND SMARTER THEORIZER THAN MATPAT
As an Aboriginal Australian who practices witchery (religious/pagan) I love how popular Bluey has become and this theory is cute af.
I love how wild this theory is. Let’s have fun with the final 9
Matpat, you made my childhood. We’ll all miss you
@@beejfqjuice dont give them attention, it's the UTTP, "a internet organization" that objective is to end trolls, by becoming them
@UTTPOfficerRonaldoCR7 bro are you ok? do you need help?
Don’t respond to the U.T.T.P
I know absolutely nothing about this show other than it's apparently a surprisingly good kids show, but I am definitely here for crazy theories like this.
Also that collab with Bluey saying 'For real life?' and Matpat makes me laugh. Such a fire episode 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wendy is such a good neighbor, she has nerves made out a combination of Tungsten and Titanium
I've never actually seen Bluey in motion. I wasn't expecting it to be that well animated
I'll miss Matpat he was a big part of my childhood for sure, I ended coming up with my own theories for stuff like gravity falls cause of him so I hope Mat has an awesome retirement
@KahanistTrollPolice bro aernt u a uttp
@UTTPOfficerRonaldoCR7 no one asked for your opinion. Mattpat is amazing.
